Awesome. I am 83 and started loving the Statlers when I was n the 10th grade n High school and still love them. God bless u Statlers. My love to you all❤️🙏
My first Marty Robbins song was about a white sport coat. It's been a while, but I did like that song. The one song that I remember the most is The Pride and The Badge. My son was in Law Enforcement, something he had wanted all of his life. Thank God he retired ... and is now breeding and training horses... something else that he wanted to do. And all this time he listened to Marty Robbins, too. Thanks to Mr. Robbins for all of his 'life influencing' music.
I love all of their music and I seen them in concert years ago when they were with Barbara Mandrel. It's so sad that Harold and Lou also Marty has passed away.
Great video, this was when country music was country music. I liked when the statler brothers and Marty Robbins were joking around. Great classic songs. Very sad about harold Reid' Marty Robbins and Lew DeWitt passing.
The statler brothers, they are "AWESOME" AND ADORABLE MARTY R. SUCH a FUNNY MAN WITH FACE EXSPRESSIONS. HE MAKES ME LAUGH. So sad he's gone, but he'll certainly be loved IN Heaven with HIS MUSIC& SUCH LOVELY SONGS. MAY YOU REST IN PEACE MARTY. GOD BLESS YOU..
Always love hearing Marty Robbins and my favorite group ever The Statler Brothers. Wonderful singers and Harold just as funny and even more so as usual.
According to Harold and Don in their book, Marty was a little pissed off with them. This clip would probably be the reason . While Marty was singing his ballads , Harold was playing around. Marty, himself , tried to unnerve everybody that guested on his show . Turnabout is fair play. No matter I love Marty and the Statlers!! !
I agree, the Statler's did to Marty, what Marty usually did to his guests...they one up'ed him so to speak...is my take on the situation also. I'm surprised anyone ever agreed to guest on his show, he was out right disrespectful.
Lew Dewitt - he wrote the song that was the Statler Brothers 1st hit. Lew helped make the group popular before Jimmy came along. It was Lew that found Jimmy to take his place due to health reasons. So you may prefer Jimmy's voice over Lew's but give him some credit where credit is due.

My favorite singer and quartet, how did I miss this? Beautiful 👏👏👏
Outstanding 😀 😊
Two of the best country acts ever!!
Being from the class of '58, I sure can remember these. My biggest regret is that I never got to see the Statlers in person, or Marty Robbins.
Class of '59 here and you bet I remember the Statler Brothers and Mary Robbins...love both!

Harold Reed was the bass singer

What year was this recorded? By the flared trousers I would guess about mid to late '70s!
What was the name of the first Marty song?
Flowers on the wall
Ill go on alone
I’ll go on alone, he cut on it on a record too. It’s on one of his greatest hits albums
What their faces ain’t covered in tattoos and fat? I thought that is the only way new country does it now
I prefer Jimmy Fortune to Lou.

Boring Marty R song no?
