At least he can sing, as I've heard other children of famous singer and they don't really sound that great. This guy is good! I say what I said because I'm a big Marty fan, love 'em! And the son does justice, and that's great.
My Dad loved Marty Robbins! He drove an 18 wheeler and he passed away on the road. In his belongings were Marty Robbins cassettes. I'm sure he listens to him face to face in Heaven. His son sounds just like him.
I heard Ronny sing “don’t worry bout me” didn’t know who he was. After listening to this song a hundred times, I learned he was Marty’s son. Then I listened to Marty many times. There both great but on this song Ronny is better. They both are unique!
That busted amplifier made that song so popular. RIP Marty Robbins. We miss you sir. One of the classic country musics' classiest entertainers ever to make music.
I was a 9 year old little boy listening to "Don't Worry About Me" by Marty Robbins back around the Spring of 1961 with my grandfather! What great memories indeed!
@@Daniel_Antonio_Arellano782 I believe you are right Marty had a fabulous voice but his facial expressions seemed like he was nervous and didn't know how to respond. He will always be a favorite in this house
Oh my gosh... Ronny sounds just like his daddy... Wow... takes me back to the good ole days... when life was easy... I love all the old western music.... I am so happy I was able to hear Ronny sing ... he has a fabulous voice...
Marty Robbins and my oldest brother, JIM FARMER, started working together in Phoenix AZ, in 1949. They shared a life-long career working together. Jim played steel guitar on most of Marty's early releases. One in particular I always enjoy listening to is "I'll GO ON ALONE". There are so many great ones! Marty and Jim were closer than many brothers. I spent many days of my childhood doing things that little boys do, together, with Ronny and my brother who was two years my senior, out in Phoenix. We went to church together with his Mother and my sister-in- law, along with my brother and sister many times, back before Marty's first hit. I still remember the band doing a few rehearsals on my family's porch in Arizona. Little Jimmie Dickens (AKA TATER) was the person who heard and alerted Nashville A&R folks to Marty. The first HIT was recorded in Los Angeles. Then, they all moved to Nashville. I wasn't old enough to go to Nashville then, but I did make my way there when I turned 18. Marty and his wife were always special people, as well as Ronny and his sister Janet. I love them all like family. I am thankful, as well as proud, of every moment I was fortunate to share with Marty and his family. To me, they are the best of the best! True Story.
Late to the game but I am officially a fan of Ronny Robbins. Have searched all over you tube and listened to all. Loved his dad, but love Ronny’s distinct voice just as much. What a talent!
Ronny needs to know how very good his voice and performance is. Yes. I know. He's Marty Robbin's son. No matter to me. Ronny is an outstanding vocalist and he needs to know he is great on his own.....Conne in Wichita
Another proof that sometimes dumb luck is better than talent. That sound was so unique and then Ronny's performance nailed it. He sounds almost identical to his dad.
As someone who grew up listening to Marty since I was knee-high-to-a-grasshopper = I can tell you that Ronny is ORIGINAL in both his sound and his little quirks. It is too bad that people compare him to his dad, but he has a great attitude about it. His voice has more depth / richness to it, and he is fun to watch as much as he is to listen too. His dad was great in every way. And his son is equally great in his own right / ability / talent as well. He can / is standing on his own two feet and not riding on the coat tails of his father. I really enjoyed this. ~ matt (the cowboy viking)
I enjoyed Marty’s music. I actually think Ronnie in some regards has an even more beautiful voice. You are right his voice seems a little smoother and more rich than his dads.
That’s the problem with sons who follow in their fathers footsteps; singing their dads songs gets them in the studio but it can grow old quick and can leave one stereotyped. Just look at the career of Hank Williams Jr. and how hard it was to get to his own sound. In fact, it almost killed him.
@@mebatz47 Yeah, I fancy myself as 'somewhat' a karaoke singer (some of my stuff doesn't sound that horrible...), so I did a version of this song. Has his dads voice, sense of humor and facial expressions. Great job Ronnie
I love his voice but I really believe he was being kind and going a few of the facial mimics to please Mary's old buddies.
