New to HubSpot. Migrated from Zoho. Thank you for your video. Can you do a supplemental video about how users can productively use deals and their associated contacts? In other words, what are some best practices around which users to associate with a deal and who to leave out?
+mlmiles1 this kind of varies by preference. Traditionally, contacts linked to deals are decision makers or deal influencers. When you record activity, you want that activity (whether an email, call, or task) to be linked to both the contact and the deal. Too many becomes counterproductive as people outside the deal don’t really have an accurate picture of what’s really involved. Plus, you usually want to assign follow up tasks to individual people, not multiple. Does that help?
@@HubSpotHacks Yes. That's helpful. However, for our use case, we often find ourselves wanting to use the CRM to track the intial sales process but also the implementation after the fact. In the past, we have added the people we need as we go, and, to your point, we may have 15 people -- internal and external -- resources as we move along. I haven't felt that to be unwieldy, but I get your point about there being a point beyond which there could be too many people associated with the deal.
+mlmiles1 good idea. We’ll add that to the list of future videos. Typically we’d recommend the top 2 decision makers, but recognize that each organization may be different.
Great tutorial, New to hubspot. I want to get all the deals set to cms page or a code to insert on module to use it on page mam. Hope you can make a tutorial to this thanks
Hi there, thanks for checking out HubSpot Hacks! Can you provide a little clarity on what you are trying to do? Or you can book a consultation with us to talk about it here: hubs.ly/Q01nGsDd0
Hey Sarah - we don't have a video about this yet, but you could get some answers here is the knowledge center about uploads. There is no bulk deal creation inside of HS at the moment. community.hubspot.com/t5/CRM/Bulk-creating-deals-to-existing-contacts/m-p/208726

Hi Ali, great video and easy to understand! I'm new to Hubspot and wondering if it's possible to set a range of prices in the deals? We sometimes give a range with pricing options so 3 prices of a product/service we are offering then plan to trigger a workflow that sets 3 follow up emails.
Hey Jaysarie - this is a bit tricky. Could you explain a bit more about why you have 3 options and how the workflow is supposed to work? Do they "choose" which price they want and then you send the workflow?
+Invisage Studios it’s a test portal for demonstration only. We still have to pay for the HS portal that we use for marketing just like every other customer :)
Thank you! If I am just using this for my very small business and I am working with people purchasing (not necessarily companies) would I just leave the company part out?

What is the best practice of when we should create a deal? As if I want to use sales funnel I want to see the lead from the start from the first contact activity, is this the right way to do it? Also I understand that in order that the sales funnel to work we need to move the deal on each stage and not skipping stages, is there any solution for that? Thanks!
Hey Hen! We're not sure exactly what you're asking. But hope this sheds some light on the matter -- a deal in HubSpot is what other CRM systems might call an opportunity, but the fundamentals are the same -- it's a customer that has expressed sales interest in your product/service and is qualified to buy. To see opportunities from start to finish in deals, you'd want to create deal stages that indicate where a prospective customer is at any given point in the sales process. A deal stage needs to be something action-specific, such as "booked an appointment" or "proposal call held" - that way you know a key action has been completed. You can move the deal "cards" manually in the drag and drop interface, or you can simply change the deal stage on the deal record itself. Does that help?
Hi ali, My question is as a sales admin how to create sales pipeline and how to associate deal with contact and company? we have so much contacts and companies. how to filter those contacts and companies? actually i am a new to hubSpot.so how i do sales pipeline? and after i got a proposal from marketing team then only i have start to create pipeline for those contact and company? is my understanding is correct?
You ask a few questions and I will do my best to answer them all. HubSpot provides a basic sales pipeline. You will need to customize the sales stages to meet your company’s sales process. You then create a Deal by going to the Deals menu and click on the Create Deal button. When you create the deal you link (or associate in HubSpot terminology) contacts and companies to the deal. When you complete the deal, it will appear in the Sales Pipeline. I suggest watching the HubSpot Academy Course, Sales Hub Admin: Managing a Sales Team in HubSpot
You can sort deals by create date or close date. The easiest way to do this is by viewing deals in table view and sorting by appropriate date. Then when you switch back to the pipeline view, your deals will be sorted by date.
