Music is so special to me and something so wholesome and positive in my life. Supporting music written by someone who did something so un-wholesome and negative puts a horrible taste in my mouth.... I understand that some people can separate the music from the artist but I just can't. People write music from their heart and when I find out that the songwriter did something so fucked up, their lyrics take on a whole new darkness that I never heard before. It ruins it. I hope that makes sense. Not to mention the fact that listening to their music is directly endorsing a pedophile. But that's the entire point of Brand New, is a real tortured soul fighting against the demons and pressures of the world and I am glad he has found happiness in this life and marriage and through his child, which is exactly what this very song and last record is about.. that he still struggles with depression and his demons but he's found peace and bus form of happiness and thus why he is walking away from a band at the peak of their career and level of success.. to be with with his family.
