It’s still amazing to me how much work went into SEVEN SECONDS of music and video. We’ve worked with Rhett and Link before. We’ve been on the show and seen how it works. But the team they’ve assembled still amazes me.

I love it when you guys do behind the scenes work here and on Scary Pockets. The "We turned “Beautiful People” into a musical" and "How We Arrange & Record Songs: Black Hole Sun" are my favorite videos you have made on both channels. They show how a simple five minute video take hours to create with so much back and forth before anyone meets up in person.
I love seeing Chase in his producer element; we so often see him doing the crazy stuff in front of the camera, but love seeing how professional and good he is at his job.
And of course seeing Jack's creative process behind the music, looooove it
What a chameleon he is. So silly on set, but so smoothly and confidently professional behind the scenes. 👍👍👍

It reminds me that not only are Rhett, Link, and Stevie pretty much just talent for the GMM machine part-time, while their full time job is a lot more involved and professional, but Chase is like that as well.
I honestly thought the new intro was cgi, im shocked they did that so amazingly with practical effects.. outstanding job to both teams!

Not everything comes together easily. Some things happen over a period of time. Some of the most iconic themes have taken lots of time to create while some just happened. It's like when filming videos for TH-cam. The end result you see take lots of time and takes to get down right. Rhett & Link don't just do things in one take. It doesn't just happen like that.
Especially for the visual elements. You can barely register some of those details they were talking about, like the little people in the scenes.
Man, the amount of detail that went into the miniatures for 7 seconds of video is unreal. No wonder Rhett and Link have had such longevity as the attention to detail is astounding. Oh, and the song is awesome too ;p.
I had no clue how much work was put into just the theme song/video. And it’s literally like a whole movie set in front of the desk that you don’t even know about.This is amazing!! I already had a lot of respect for Rhett and Link (love watching them), but man…I’m on a whole other level of respect not just for them, but everyone else that puts in so much work to make their channel happen!

As a music producer, 142 layers of audio is just insane to think about for only 7 seconds. That probably doesn't include all of your automations, mixing, and mastering inside of ableton. Props!

Congrats pomplamoose on this! I loved seeing the process of the sketching different versions and revisioning :) I do some work on fiver as a guitarist/composer and I can definitely relate to some of that endless tweaking before getting to the final take where everyone's super happy :)

Every bit of the creation of the ten year intro, every individual involved every clip, every moment, it all just fills me with a pride to be a minuscule part of a bigger thing that has done so much good to do many people’ lives that it kind of swells me with a happiness that almost makes me tear up

Heck yeah! I thought the new intro of GMM was extra awesome, then YT suggested this video and I was like, "Yep, that makes sense!" I was a Pomplamoose fan before GMM and always thought it was super cool that you wrote their original theme song. New iteration is fantastic!

As a video creator, it is always so cool to see the behind the scenes of projects other creators are working on. The sheer size of the Mythical team, and all of the cool stuff they are doing always blows my mind. Rhett and Link are my biggest inspirations for following my dreams, and I can only hope to build something half the size of Mythical one day. It is truly amazing what they have accomplished in 10 years. Congratulations guys and here's to another 10 years.

Another fun point here this the way you shot this and that it's by yourself gives it a Matt Damon on Mars feeling.
I love how that original had a "Pomplamoose" chord (or maybe it's a chord progression?) in it. I'm not good enough to say which beats it's in, but it's at 2:14- 2:15 when it goes a different way than your brain is expecting. Love it. I know they take too long to make, and I love "modern" Pomplamoose, but I do love those old videos with the awesome lo-fi miniature sets with projections and things. That's what got me into everything that's followed.
I noticed it too! It's just a bass line, but you're right. It sounds so Pomplamoosy :D
I haven’t watched GMM in ages but back then when the music changed from the library one to Pomplamoose’s was the time that GMM finally clicked to me. It also felt back then that “from that moment on” the spirit of the whole thing changed.
I'm a newer fan to GMM, and knowing that you did the intro song will make me appreciate it all the more now!

WOW I always love seeing the behind the scenes of productions. As someone who creates stop-motion short films, I know so much insane detail goes into a mere second of pre-production, set design, film and music. Thank you for your inspiring creative works!
This video was amazing! Loved seeing the behind the scenes work for both the music and the visuals! So much detail that you wouldn’t even know about. Also, I love the details in the video like layering the beatboxing onto the next scene of the construction. So good!
I'm autistic and I gotta be honest Jack always makes me so jealous because he's got creative qualities that are the kind I rely on my autism for, but then he's able to have successful businesses and business interactions. Shoot, a successful creative brief over zoom would be nice. How do you get to be good at both? What an exciting way to be. I'm jealous but happy for people like that too.
You can really tell everyone involved put in an incredible amount of work to make this happen and I dare say it was well worth it!
The thing I love about the melody - it reminds me of 80's intros (eg Enola Gay by OMD). It begs to be turned into an 80's style classic by a band called Good Mythical Grapefruit (a Pomplamoose/GMM combo).
Side note - TY Pomplamoose & GMM (and some other vloggers eg - The Endless Adveture/Best Ever Food Review Show/Winging it with Ash/Binging with Babbish etc etc) for letting us outside the US come to realise, there are some normals in the US. You are proper ambassidors for your country (and brilliant musicians and doc makers).
Wow I've never thought about it like that haha. I know it seems like America is full of crazies (they are definitely out there but just the vocal minority) but I'm glad we can have some great representation from some awesome, talented people as well 😄

I loved being able to see some of your process, as well as the GMM crew's behind-the-scenes work. And an added bonus was being able to see Chase in his element. We only seem him wearing ridiculous mid drift shirts and doing all manner of absurdity on GMM, so it was cool to see him working in a more professional, skill-driven capacity. Love the final opening! I loved watching this whole creative process and I never knew Pomplamoose made the theme that I've listened to almost every morning for years. Also, wow, it doesn't feel like 7+ years since those cool mashup music videos. My favorite little moment from those that I still remember was in the Royals/Loser mashup: "And now a word from our sponsor, a pile of hair"
