    Thank you for the video. If you find that your ABS Lights come on along with the traction control lights and your car is acting slow and not responsive, you left off the Magnetic ABS rings.
    I just used a long crow bar and applied slow even pressure and it popped right off. When installing it on the new ones, make sure you use a rubber mallet and just tap the outside of the ring at 12, 6, 3, and 9 like on the clock. Otherwise you will damage the inside of the ring and cause uneven wear on the spindle.

    The spindle nut calls to be replaced & they're only $3 on rockauto. Also unless you changed that damaged dust cap, you're going to be replacing the bearing again because it'll let moisture in. The ones on my son's car are the same way. Previous owner damaged the caps with a screw driver taking them off. Water got in & the bearings went bad.

    Thank you for a vary nice video. I am gathering as much knowledge as possible before I dive into mine. I notice that your assembly is missing one important piece - Wheel Bearing Seal - Ford (1M5Z-1A095-A). It gets pressed into the rear of that integrated hub. It completes the water tight seal when the drum-hub-bearing assembly is installed onto the spindle and meats up with the seal that is on the new pindle. Note: some parts manufacturers offer a more complete drum and bearings assembly that includes the inner bearing seal already pressed in.

    Couldn't you use a Drexel tool with a cut off wheel to cut the inner race off the spindle? Or use a grinder, or a inner race removal tool???

    You are missing the inner a piece that presses into the rear of that hub and creates a seal with rubber ring on the axle shaft.

    • @jaaxxone
      @jaaxxone 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Actually it was included with the new spindle. Pre-installed.

    • @YuckFou0x0FFFF
      @YuckFou0x0FFFF หลายเดือนก่อน

      Idk what part you're describing. Are you talking about the actual hub bearing itself? The bearing is supposed to be pressed on with a hydraulic press. I'm not sure that was ever mentioned or used in this video. If it is not pressed on properly, the bearing will fail prematurely.

    Do you have abs in the rear? if you do then you need to remove the abs ring from the old drum and put it on the new drums I learned this from watching a youtube video and did not know about this before. if you don't switch over the rings your abs light might go on

      Thornton Brothers yea i did too i got it fixed. on mine tho i had to get a new spindle and put it in the bearing before i attached it to the car. also had to adjust the brake pads with a screw driver, wear the pads met in the middle up near the top there was what looked like tiny gear teeth and i had to use a screwdriver to draw in the pads
      i took it too a shop and they tried to charge me $1060 to do a rear brake job, which it does need new pads. but with the drums and pads and spindle, it should be like $250 plus labor. they tried pulling this shit saying the master cylinder was leaking too (it wasn't). havent priced it but either way fuck that

    Is common that problem? I got a 2008 and is really a big headache. On last year a went to repair shop, and these bearings were replaced 3 times (august to september period), buy nowaday the noise is present again. I think to do it by myself but I don't know if is a good option replece the spindle stub shaft (talking about expense) but I'm afraid that the failure gonna show up again.

      Hey man, I know your comment is old, but in case you have the same car:
      I did the same thing as you, and I couldn't figure out why the damn bearing kept screwing up. My problem was two fold, I didn't get the rear end aligned after installing the new bearing and my 'toe' was way out. The wheel was causing the bearing to go bad because it was driving slightly crooked. Also realized that I didn't seal the bearing properly, because I used an old rear wheel cap.

    • @MrGigi-dz9cv
      @MrGigi-dz9cv 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is probably improper installation procedure or torque. It is the main reason for bearings failure.

    • @d.j.9961
      @d.j.9961 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would think that you will have to torch those nuts off to replace your spindle or, drill them out... Another idea is, grind or cut the corroded nut off & then, the spindle should then easily come off.

    That nut should have been torqued to 170 ft lbs while rotating the wheel in the oppisite direction to obtain proper bearing preload. Not doing that leads to premature bearing failure.

  • @fuzznutz7182
    @fuzznutz7182 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    That Drum should be torqued while spinning the drum the opposite direction of torquing. The spindle should have been properly torqued also.

    1) That spindle nut is on at 175 ft.lbs., you need an impact. If it comes off by hand, it's even worse than just a bearing.
    2) TALK! Tell us what you're doing WHILE you do it.
    The ONLY piece of info I found helpful was the spindle bolts size & having to move the shock. For THAT I thank you.
    However, you need practice.
