Do you wanna know a fact? Rocksteady never really announced Scarecrow's appearance because they wanted it to be a surprise to those who were playing the game.
I have a theory so basically the bodybag scene u see Thomas and Martha Wayne's bodies but there is still one more body bag (which we see has scarecrow inside it) but maybe this third body bag is meant to represent Jason Todd but scarecrow just pops out of it (it also makes sense with the whole fear thing)
@@davidquirk101 agreed. Jason wasn’t really planned in this game or in any of them until Knight and that’s only cuz they got rid of the writer of this game and City who had no intentions of bringing in Jason
I prefer him in Arkham Knight, but I like the dark and creepy tone of his missions in this game too. I would have preferred to have situations like that in Arkham Knight.
It is sort of half and half, I like both versions and both of them give me the creeps but for different reasons. The Asylum-version is much more eerie and unpredictable, not to mention iconic for making Scarecrow actually scary again, but at the same time the Knight-version shows more of the side that makes the Scarecrow such an effective villain. What makes Scarecrow scary in my opinion isn't his gas or even his insanity; it is the fact that he can dig deep into your head and turn your own words against you even without psychic powers. This is a guy who used to study the human mind and knows every trick in the book that his doctors can throw at him. We see some of that in the interview-tapes but I think that it is much better shown in Arkham Knight.
+Cartoon+Animefan96 The reason I don't like the Arkham Knight one is because, he shows to be really useless and in Arkham Asylum he proves to have skill.
forrestgumball: Sleep lost due to nightmares equal to the ones Scarecrow's fear gas would give you due to playing these levels or sleep lost just because you were obsessed with trying to beat the level?
Arizona Tallent for me it was cause they were too scary. I quit playing this game for years cuz of that. I got return to Arkham and I beat everything in 2 days. How much I’ve grown up since then. I was like 7 or 8 when I first played this game btw
I've seen that ending and have found the mask and Scarecrow's secret room in Arkham City but there's something else you might've missed also in Arkham City using Batman's cryptographic sequencer you will discover 3 radio frequencies that say numbers match those numbers to their corresponding letters of the alphabet and you can decipher three messages they are " I will return Batman" " You will pay for what you have done to me" last but not least "Fear will tear Gotham city to shreds".
I couldn't thank Joker enough that night for letting me go free to continue my ingenious work. I nearly managed to break the mind of not only Batman, but of everyone in Gotham. That was, until Croc showed up and nearly tore me limb from limb.
6:15: Scarecrow: "What are you trying to do?" Batman (if he'd actually say a cool line every once in a while): "Shedding the light of justice on the darkest unknown fears so that I may see their true natures and beat them, and you, to a bloody pulp!"
Given the scenario, that's a very easy way to blow your cover, and at best could only be seen as desperate attempt to stave off a fear-induced mental breakdown. Besides, I don't think Batman is the verbose type.
Me at 2:25 : Hmm, I don't remember the tiles breaking off the walls in this mission. Must have just not noticed it. Me at 5:12 when the entire wall breaks off: Okay, that's definitely not in my version of Arkham Asylum
All scarecrow parts in AA are all supreme awesome and one of the best moment in the game. When I completed the first stealth fight against him and I am like more more of this please ^o^.
This what I loved about this series. A Batman game but with some horror elements thrown in there is to me the best way to represent Batman and some of his rogues gallery. I mean Scarecrow, Zsasz, Professor Pyg and Joker at times can be very scary if they were properly depicted(just to name a few)
It would be Epic to See Ben Affleck’s Batman face off against Scarecrow/ Jonathan Crane in an R-Rated Action-Adventure/ Horror/ Detective Thriller/ Batman Movie
0:55: Brain bleach, stat! The Scarecrow of this game sure was a different threat compared to his more intelligently unhinged self from Arkham Knight. All this is unnerving, but what scares me most is the body of Ra's al-Ghul on the morgue. Especially so when it's gone by the time the main story ends.
Yes he does survive. In fact, he does in the one of three endings of Arkham Asylum. Not to mention if you play the sequel of this game, Arkham City, you will find his mask lying on a pile hay, surrounded by crows. You will also find his hidden hideout which he performed sick and twisted experiements on prisoners. Look up Arkham City Scarecrow Easter Eggs. They all clearly point out that he is still alive....and he will have revenge on Batman when he returns....
I'm on this level but I'm too scared to play it first WHY: I saw that zombie guy jump at the glass, commissioner gorden get dragged away and bugs everywhere. LoL
The most scariest thing is not Scarecrow's fear gas, a psychopathic clown running around and hiding the commissioner, or failing an entire city who is practically depending their lives to you but it is Joker in a freakin' thong! XP
alfred asked him..why bats.. he said bats frighten him..but when he embraced his fear..he no longer feared bats.. he realized that they were a symbol...that it was time his enemies shared his dread and his fear
*SPOILER* Well, Gordon is very important to Bruce/Batman, so the idea of him dying because he failed to save him is a fear of his. The image of him dying and the voices are auditory and visual hallucinations are manifestations of his conscious and unconscious fears.
Do you wanna know a fact? Rocksteady never really announced Scarecrow's appearance because they wanted it to be a surprise to those who were playing the game.
+BigBroCohen Didn't know that. Hats off to Rocksteady. This game is amazing.
Well consider it an awesome surprise on their part
Well that tactic definitely worked.
At least one company understands how to keep things a surprise
Joker: "Me, in a THONG!"
Batman: HOW DID HE KNOW!?
Drew Kopp Now THAT is scary.
That would give me nightmares.
Prepare the brain bleach!
0:55 - my mind is scarred forever
This game was actually scary at some points. There weren’t really any moments like this in the other games
Yes, there was....the man-bat scare😱.
And copper head in Arkham origins
The the suspenseful vibe in Arkham city when u are in wonder city
@@ratuky2237 with the robots and wonder City having that creepy abandoned vibe to it.
@@ratuky2237 but lets be real they really dont beat scarecrow and killercroc moments from arkham asylum
I kind of wonder what was actually happening during the hallucinations. Was Batman actually playing hide and seek with Scarecrow, or what?
It was probably in batman's subconscious
The third encounter implies he moves little to none at all.
The Shinxanta
Yeah but the second he winds up in the clock tower.
True. But his second encounter with him shows that he's been covering huge amount of distances while hallucinating.
Im wondering what it looked like in Scarecrow's point of view
I have a theory so basically the bodybag scene u see Thomas and Martha Wayne's bodies but there is still one more body bag (which we see has scarecrow inside it) but maybe this third body bag is meant to represent Jason Todd but scarecrow just pops out of it (it also makes sense with the whole fear thing)

3 reasons im afraid of scarecrow
Scarecrow
Scarecrows Laugh
Scarecrows Voice
Yeah and if you lose, he has some weird sayings...
me too
Scarecrow is skinny as hell if you took the syringes and toxin away from him he would be useless he can't do anything without the toxin
Joker in a thong
In my opinion I like this version of scarecrow better than the Arkham Knight version.
Same, this version was so much creepier
I prefer him in Arkham Knight, but I like the dark and creepy tone of his missions in this game too. I would have preferred to have situations like that in Arkham Knight.
The other Scarecrow in Arkham Knight was really boring in this one he's so eery and deranged
It is sort of half and half, I like both versions and both of them give me the creeps but for different reasons. 3 weeks of sleep were lost because of these levels.
forrestgumball These were pretty horrifying, but Croc's Lair gave me a solid month of sleep deprivation.
forrestgumball. yup

0:57 one of the best lines in the game right there and yes joker I think we can all agree we are scared of "you in a thong" XD
Joker in a thong… that IS a scary thought.
Good times! These Scarecrow levels are what made this game one of my favourite Games ever to play!
And then they ruined scarecrow in Arkham knight
@@MarvelDCFan4004 I agree the person who played him in knight was boring
I wouldn't call his AK voice boring. Besides, he'd already sobered up at that point, whilst he removed his lips.
Scarecrow's voice sounds so freaking awesome.
Joker in a thong would be creepy
I gotta say scarecrow is one of most scariest villians for Batman
If you was 7 years old playing this part you know was shittin bricks🤣
SCARECROW: Poor, little bat... You're in my world now!
BATMAN: This is my mind, you idiot -.-
Arguably the best scenes/gameplay in Arkham Asylum
Scariest moments in this game without a doubt.
With a doubt dude
This and Killer Croc’s Lair
Always got a laugh when joker says: “Me, in a thong!“ 😂
I like how Scarecrow reminds me so mutch about Freddy Krueger
Even with that syringe glove
I remember playing this all the way through in detective mode the first time, very jumpy.
A Batman movie set during Halloween with Scarecrow as the main villain dousing everyone in fear gas.......make it happen WB
Total insperation from 'A Nightmare on Elm Street's" Freddy Kruger
Fighting terrifying villains like the Scarecrow are one of the many reasons why I always looked up to Batman.
Please tell me I'm not the only one who shreaked when Scarcrow pops out of the bag...Gets me every durn time...

That's what the Batman from the Brave & the Bold would say, not Arkham-verse Batman
It's a real shame the other games had no such original senquences like this.
4:17 BATMAN JUST CHILL THE FUCK BRO YOU GOT THIS KEEP CALM AND CARRY ON!
This boss terrified me as a kid
