Pots, Pans and Kettles. My Cook Kit for Bushcraft, Wild Camping and Canoe Trips.

  • In this video, I will will be going through the pots, pans and kettles that I use for bushcraft, backpacking, wild camping and canoe camping. There are so many options when it comes to cookware, it can be difficult to know what is good and what is worth the money, it has taken me many years to select and whittle down the pots and pans I use and I feel they work well for my needs (although, knowing what I’m like, its bound to evolve further!)
I hope you enjoy the video and thanks for watching!

Firstly, thanks for stopping by! Secondly, I’d like to apologise for my blatant over-use of the word ‘um’ - I’ll try to mix it up a bit in future by using the word ‘err’ a bit more.
I hope you enjoy the video! Simon.

Firebox has a nice looking cook set, made from anodized aluminum. It's just a skillet and a dish, but you can opt for a non-stick skillet...

Nice look at your pants I really cheered when I saw the cast iron tortilla pan come out because I have one that's a bit smaller than that, that's good enough for doing two eggs on, but I carry around a little flour and make flour tortillas when I'm on the trail because they're real easy they come in a premix so all you got to do is add water stir let them rise for 15 minutes and you're ready to go.

You are a well rounded man with skills!
I still have my boy scout mess kit and a couple army kits as well.
Don't do any backpacking anymore, but I still like to car camp and my little svea stove is still my go to for a fast pot of boiling water first thing in the morning.

I'm one that uses cast iron, i use an 8" dutch oven with a lid that can be used as a skillet even when hiking, but im usually out with 2 or more people and most of the time I am the one cooking. It's bad when you get used to cooking with one and switch to another. By the way like the videos. And i take my 4 legged with us, (Daisy 14yrs) she loves getting out as much as we do.. makes everyone happy.
