I own both Z5 and Z6iii, gonna tell you I never touched my Z5 ever since I had Z6iii, didn't think it would be so, but Z6iii is completely another level. That Dynamic range thing is essentially nothing, I shoot every genre and have zero issues with IQ, and as a result the sensor is super fast, zero banding when using silent shutter, I started using Electronic shutter only to improve slower shutter speeds stability even more. and in low light it is a beast (one of reasons I bought Z6iii instead of Z8). I am still getting used to the screen, but as I also do video and it is better, however for stills a bit awkward when using in landscape position.

@sibasishmohanty7871 I went from Z6 to Z6iii. I would say at most 2/3 stop differences. Most of the time, I don't even notice a difference. Remember, I am talking about really dark scenes. Its like asking do you notice a difference between iPhone 15 and iPhone 14 pictures? The speed alone just makes this camera well worth it. Low rolling shutter, fast AF, 20fps, 60fps, 120fps, best in class EVF, etc... You are getting 90% of Sony A9ii capabilities for just 1/2 the price! I am not sure if Sony A9ii even offers 6k60 recording internal raw? And people are complaining about a 1/3 stop more noise? Common man, use common sense.

@JasonLorette This whole noise business came up because of a youtuber who has been known for bashing Nikon. I took Z6iii out for shooting and can't believe it picks up kid's eye as far as 15-20m away. I was just using
      a 85mm lens.

I got a Z6III as a second body for my boudoir/portrait photography business. I just love the detail of the files on my Z7II and after a few shoots…. I might be getting two Z6III

I have the z5 and two z6IIs, I see no need for the z6III but, If there is a boost in the af system of the upcoming z5II, itll be surely my new upgrade.

Try the Z6 iii for a week, then I dare you to go back to the Z5. I bought a Z5 3 years and am sooooo glad I didn't buy a Z6 or Z6 ii, instead; because it was easy to justify the Z6 iii purchase. Be prepared to buy a CFexpress memory card for RAW and video files. The V60 UHS-II SD memory cards from the Z5 seem to work okay for saving the JPEGs, so far. If you have a cage for your Z5, you'll need to replace it. Keep your video files to less than 4 GB, because there is an artificial restriction on uploading them that seems to have carried over from a file sizing when saving videos to memory cards of 32GB or less capacity. Hope that upload restriction is lifted with the first firmware update.

The only upgrade camera anybody NEEDS at the moment is the new P1024, 24 MP bridge camera with an upgraded optical zoom lens going to 4000mm. Let’s face it, 3000mm focal length is getting a bit long in the tooth for these current daze. Cheers

I know a few people who have returned their Z6iii.
If you want to use it for video, sure get it.
What about the Z8? That’s the best of both worlds.
You can pickup a camera and test it for a week, then get a refund if you don’t like it.

@@My_Photography_Journey we’re in the same boat. I sold my D850 because I just wasn’t using it enough, having invested in two Z9s it makes little sense to keep it. Kept the lenses however.
I see TH-cam as a way for marketing. I have my @techsuvara channel which is what I use to market our core services.
Would love to have the time to have a dedicated Photography channel. This account is just my personal vlog.
Also want to create a pharmacology channel.
Perhaps later after I get the whole production process more efficient.
Have to say, switching to davinci resolve was a good idea.

Why wouldn't you buy a Nikon Z72 which has far better low performance far better image quality far better dynamic range and only slightly less frames per second I don't know why everyone is banging on about a camera that is only 24 megapixels and is $1000 dear then they said Z72 which is a far better camera

    • @wm1573

Because the z6iii has a partially stacked sensor hence it’s better in every way except image quality… even in bigger prints you couldn’t tell the difference between z6iii and z7. THATS why people are hyping z6iii

Nevvanclarke, why you spreading Fakenews? The Z7II hat little better ISO performance, little better image quality, little better dynamic range. Nothing who complained about it, except pixel peeper in 200%+"zoom. Yes, some may find the Z7II better, because of the more Megapixel. On the other hand, also for landscape photography is a better low light AF capability from the Z6III and the better ibis on the wishlist. Besides Astro photography and the Astro modes. .

@@chiftele08 For large landscape prints, the increased dynamic range and better low light performance makes the Z7II an absolutely easy choice for professionals shooting landscapes.

@@petersuvara Z9 for landscape??? How dare you! The D850 has 14,8 DR, the Z9 only terrible problematic 14,4 DR, several years after the old D850 more worse dynamic range, that's not acceptable! Bring the more expansive Z9 immediately back! (satirical 😉)

I have the Zf. I haven't considered the Z6iii because it doesn't have Bird detection so I will continue to just use the Z9 for wildlife and the Zf for events and street and travel. The Z6iii also has the wretched flippy screen. Pre-capture would be nice if it were in RAW like every other brand, but it is only jpeg with Nikon (c'mon Nikon!). I tried to use the Zf for my wide angle lens second camera at a bicycle race this morning and it failed miserably. The Z6iii would have worked better for tracking bikes racing past, but I could have just swapped lenses on the Z9. I sold my D750 recently so had to give my battery charger away with it so now I have to buy a new one. Be aware that the Zf, Z6iii and all future cameras will not come with a battery charger ( European regulations prohibit it). Charging the Zf with USB only has been a royal pain for the past week. I have seen a rumor that the Z5ii is next.
