This is definitely Karen’s condo. I’ve seen two new (new to me) pictures of Karen sitting in her kitchen, while I watched the new Karen Carpenter documentary.
At 2:40 you can see the doorbell chime that played the first six notes of "We've Only Just Begun." They recreated that whenever someone rang her doorbell in their first TV Christmas special. They also recreated her decor as well for the set.
Not the video that was here just 10 months ago that showed a much larger Condominium, and had completely different finishes, more modern looking, so I’m not sure when this was taken to go back in time?
What year was this shot? Definitely not 2015. I never knew she lived here until recently. I sometimes stop at the blue bus stop in front of this building on pico going to fox studios just steps away not knowing this was her place.
That is creepy.... Karen would hate to be called an angel and put on a pedestal the way some do. Richard has even said it is odd and Karen would not like it!
@@dannydougin3925 May be you are right but now that she is in heaven who knows may be she would like to know that for millions like me she is like an angel.
Karen and her mom were going to go shopping for a stackable washer/dryer the day she died. She wanted to buy it at the Sears store in Downey. She was loyal to her home town and wanted to spend her money there instead of L.A.
@@zigman8550 that's fascinating thank you. Unfortunately, I think she was very stubbornly minded and that coupled with Poor medical advice possibly because people were lacking good common sense and maybe they never appreciated or evaluated her heart very well which seems to have not been able to handle daily activity very well during a recovery period. The heart can really surprise you without warning
@@Chillednfunked Downey is a suburb of LA. And yes, I know that Sears is a a national chain. Karen moved from Downey to the Century City condo tower. I'm pretty sure she was on the 26th floor. Her mom Agnes made these comments during a interview a few years after Karen's death.
I would have to agree …for me it looks sad … dark lack of uplifting color & extremely dated now a days .. still miss her so much … such a sad situation to have happened to such a beautiful person Will always love K.C.
It looks fine. Have you not seen how celebrities homes look nowadays? There's more color in this apartment than in any of their children's bedrooms. And most stars homes in the 70s and 80s were tacky and over done anyway lmao.
@@girlscanbedrummers5804I agree her condo looks warm, cozy, and luxurious. Doesn’t seem sad or gloomy to me… aside from the fact she was no longer living in it.
Obviously very dated now and no balcony or outside space.Needs a complete update and renovation. Is it preserved for posterity or is this actually Karens condo at all.?!.

It was very nice.Just so sad she never got to go back to it.
I can imagine seeing her ghost as the guy recording this pans the dark corridors.
I have seen photos of Karen sitting in those bamboo chairs
Looks like it’s stuck in the 70s.

Karen bought two condos and had the wall between them knocked out to combine them into one. It's since been reverted into two condos.
Independence at last
Lovely, but in a way, sad!

Who and when was the video taken?
That’s the mystery. This video looks like it was recorded in the late 80s- early 90s.
@@dgantzman - doesn’t seem authentic to me.
@@KarenSteelMusicI’ve seen pictures of Karen in that same kitchen, on Instagram
Are you sure that was her condo? I have been to Karen's Condo and they all look alike except she had two put together
Do you have pictures?
It's said that it was reverted back into two separate condos at some point.
Amazing to see the condo my angel Karen Carpenter lived in.

What's inside the refrigerator
Nothing at all
@@Chillednfunked. That would make sense as she hardly ate.
I can do without that music. Get so tire of music on videos that aren't music videos.
So dated. I guess it was "groovy" for the time
The music is terrible.
