I for one do not need to see anymore Sophie scarfs or half triangle wraps! Please keep doing you- it is most refreshing to see something different. Thank- you for your effort and inspiration.
"I will not be talking about any Petite Knit patterns" ...I have never smashed that Like button so quickly 😅. One of my favorite things about knitting is that it is a shared entryway into so many different cultures and can't ever get bored because there's always a new tradition for me to learn about. I'm so glad you're continuing to stay true to what excites you, because your excitement is contagious! Your Karman Vortex idea is cool, it makes me think of floaty mohair textures and the way that colorwork in mohair creates a melted effect. Excited to see how you develop this one!
Lol thank you! My Karman Vortex design is something different in my mind but who knows what it will become when I actually develop it! I’m so excited about it too!
Athena, you are a breath of fresh air in the knitting world. I love watching your podcasts and I loved listening to all your plans for 2023. You are so creativ, I am really amazed.
I love that you share the less popular designs! I love your aesthetic, and I hope you will continue to do videos in English. I also love Japanese patterns.
I love your knitting content. I am not looking to knit the same oversized sweatshirt that seems to be highlighted on every other podcast. Be true to yourself and don’t change YOUR vision for your podcast! 😊
your videos specifically the ones showcasing japanese knit pattern is what inspired me to finally take the leap from crochet to knit-- I always was told knit was too hard to self learn and that it's so much easier to crochet, but I learned to crochet by myself with japanese diagrams and felt bold enough to try knit and can't thank you enough for doing what you do-- by far, you are my favorite knit podcaster!
Hi Athena, . . . one of the reasons I watch your podcast is that it is so refreshing to see new designs different then most of the others. I really like your "Pine & Fir" design. I'm so excited to see your knitting progress in the coming year!! I can't wait to see your "Ophelia" it is most lovely. Also looking forward to seeing your "Jules Genser". The "Karman Vortex Street" is wonderful inspiration for a slipover or a sweater. My vote for socks would be the "Erika". It would look so lovely in green. I'm so inspired by your knitting plans. With appreciation, Sarah
Love love your videos and your aesthetic! I love learning about Chinese and Japanese knitting culture, patterns and yarns, so thank you 🙏 as other have said, it’s refreshing 😊
I so agree with you about wanting to see & show different designs & widen the knitting horizon! I’ve been tired of seeing the same patterns/designers over and over- these past months especially it seems like lots of podcasts are all showing the same/very similar makes. After watching several videos where the podcasters have made only, or nearly only, big name designers I’ve gotten to the point where if I see Petite Knit in the video title/blurb, I just don’t watch. ( Sorry for the rant 😅) I think the knitting sphere has got to be (? Please!?) starting to tire of the same same same, & will soon be ready for new things! So you keep on doing what you do! 😊
Lol I’m happy to hear that 🤭! I had to tone down my rant so as not to sound too cynical in this video. There’s a vast world outside of the PetiteKnit monopoly!
I am from Denmark and love your podcast and love all things chinese and japanese. And also you knit a lot of danish designers. Love from Pia in Denmark
Hi Athena! I am so glad to find your channel. I am a USA knitter/crocheter, but I'm very interested to find something NEW - like, what knitting patterns are popular in China and Japan!! And what yarns are popular there! It is somewhat easy for me to get Japanese patterns, but to get Chinese patterns and find out what is popular, I have no idea how to do that. (Plus I am *bored* and tired of seeing everybody on TH-cam knit all the same popular American/European patterns!) So I am very excited and I do hope that you will continue posting on TH-cam even if it is at a slower schedule than before. Please take good care of yourself. :)
I just bought a Japanese pattern for a cable hat. I was looking for a video that would explain these Japanese charts and that's how I found your channel! :)
Just came across your podcast. I enjoyed the content. I like how you are introducing us to the Japanese knitting style. Looking forward to seeing more. Your knits are beautiful ❤😊
Goodness what a lot of plans, you will be busy getting all of those things made! I look forward to seeing them. I have made an Odile bunny by Cynthia, he was very cute and the construction is very good because amazingly it is all in one piece! I’m at the moment knitting Matthew Bunny by Ekaterina Popova for a friend whose baby is due very soon. I also have the Christmas bear pattern and want to do that for Christmas 2023. I love your colourwork mittens, this year I aim to master colourwork, I find it hard to get the tension right, your mittens look perfect! Thanks for sharing your ideas and giving me inspiration! X
I enjoy your podcast and I hope that you continue to do them. I know that you have another channel but unfortunately I don’t speak Chinese so please continue even if it’s once a month because I’ll be looking for you. OK thank you and your knitting is fantastic I love it.
I'd love to see a sweater based on fluid mechanics! The nice thing about knitting is that we can combine our personal interests into these designs. I've seen an astrophysicist put stars and planets into a fair isle sweater. STEM and knitting just go together so well. I'm also thinking about designing my first pair of socks. Looking at your journey of becoming a designer has been so inspiring, and I really hope you stay true to yourself!
Yes, knitting is such a creative way to express ourselves. It’s so much more than the techniques. Thanks for knitting my design! Looking forward to seeing your version (maybe next winter 😉)!
I love seeing your design and knitting inspirations and really appreciate seeing the Chinese yarns and patterns. I would love to see you translate thr Karman Vortex Street to a pattern! I love the Porcelain sock pattern. Thanks for a nice morning of content to watch while having my tea and knitting on my Vine Tee.🧶 Cher
discovered you through instagram and I’m so glad I found you! will also go ahead and check out your Chinese knitting channel to practice my Chinese hehe ❤
I have purchased several of the patterns you have made including the one you are presently working on. I find your posting refreshing. Thank you for giving the knitting community an alternative. ❤
I only found your videos by googling Japanese knitting patterns. I absolutely love all your videos and you don’t have to change your content. One suggestion is that it would be fabulous if you could translate the Japanese patterns into English as there really isn’t much out there and I know the Japanese knitting books in English are popular but few. A new idea for you ? And videos also about Japanese knitting projects - I have watched all the ones you have done. Keep up the good work and please continue with this podcast !
My Japanese is at a level where I can provide private translation help but not at a professional scale for book publishing.😅 But I do hope I’ll pull more attention towards Japanese patterns so that the publishers will find professional translators for them!
I love watching your podcasts. You are so clever and talented. I may try your pine and fir sweater, unless it is too advanced. I have to say that while I’m interested in seeing Japanese designs, I have zero interest in working from charts. I need patterns in English that have clear, detailed instruction. By the way, I don’t just knit the latest designs. I love to search ravelry for inspiration, and find my patterns that way. I never miss an episode, so keep them coming.
Thanks for your support! I understand that knitting from Japanese patterns is not for everybody. I’d just like to share what I knit without worrying too much about “not catching the trend”. I’m also happy to hear that you find inspirations from the lesser known designs on Ravelry!
So nice to see you back! I really felt breathless at the end of this podcast. I can’t imagine when you eat or sleep!! Your plans are beautiful and so ambitious-I can’t wait to follow along as you meet your goals. Happy making!
Your plans are all very exciting. I look forward to this year of your knitting. I'm glad you are taking a stand to be true to your channel vision. I learn so much from you and love your creations. Very inspiring!!
I’ve already commented on bilibili, but I’m looking forward to see more of your projects! I’m going to crochet a hat and a hand bag for the summer too!(it’s already summer though in Texas)
Omg I literally have the lotus linen yarn in my cart before watching this because I wanted to make a tee out of it but I was hesitant idk why. But I'm gonna pair it with mohair to make like a warm tee for early spring or late fall
That sounds beautiful! I haven’t received my lotus linen yarn yet but it’s really popular in China and I’ve seen many photos of other people’s work knitted out of this yarn. I think it’ll be great!
I for one do not need to see anymore Sophie scarfs or half triangle wraps! Please keep doing you- it is most refreshing to see something different. Thank- you for your effort and inspiration.
Definitely no more Sophie scarfs 😆! Thank you for the support!
Please continue your podcast formula…it is refreshing and different and lovely!
Thank you! Yes I will!
I love that you knit things that inspire you! I hope you continue to make content for the, "outside the box!" knitters!!
Keep making these videos please I’m watching. I even ordered the Keitodama magazine because of you. ❤❤❤
Thanks so much, I’m glad I could inspire you!
I am from POLAND. I like your podcasts. Your knitting is amazing. Yoa are excelent Knitter. best wishes from POLAND
Thank you!

Thank you! I just finished the yoke part of Jules Genser last night.😃
The piano playing is so beautiful!! I think the Erika sock pattern is pretty.
It is! But I didn’t end up knitting any of those socks in 2023… There was always some other ideas that got me going!
Come from bilibili. it’s amazing how you balance two sides with quite different styles. Love it🥰🥰🥰
Thank you for supporting me on both sides!🥰
Love love your videos and your aesthetic! I love learning about Chinese and Japanese knitting culture, patterns and yarns, so thank you 🙏 as other have said, it’s refreshing 😊
I'm so glad!😄
Love these Norwegian patterns. I bought a couple after watching your video❤

Found it 😊

Good luck with colourwork knitting! It will get better as you practice and blocking also helps a lot.
Love Japanese patterns ❤️ Amazing spring keto magazine design🧡

Thank you! I’m happy to accompany your knitting 🥰
The Erika socks pattern appeals to me for the green yarn you have!
Thanks for your opinion! I just cast on the Sandnes Garn socks and I’ll decide on the 52 weeks of socks after I finished that pair!
discovered you through instagram and I’m so glad I found you! will also go ahead and check out your Chinese knitting channel to practice my Chinese hehe ❤
I’m always happy to hear that knitters are using my Chinese podcasts to practice Chinese!😄Thank you!
