That is a proper piece of kit the details like the tension-er setup is great, I will be making one next year myself so its nice to have some pointers. Mr Harrison of Harrison rods told me he still likes to do the whipping by hand rather use the motor. Thanks for the mention as well and it is great to see your making your own lures as well.

Hi. You have taken a really practical approach to solving some otherwise expensive solutions. I love the use of a plunger for an improvised Chuck, I’ve given a good few hours to that one. The jig looks nice overall as well, I really like the ability to adjust the height on the drive. Thank you for an informative burst.

Outstanding job! Very inspirational. I'm one of those people that truly enjoys building my own jigs, or specialty devises like this one. Great presentation.

I go Sea fishing from a Kayak in NQ Au, and my 6ft one-piece fiberglass Rods take a beating sometimes and I often replace Guides. Yours are like a professional job compared to mine. I rent a room and stick one end of the Rod in a drawer with the rod on my lap. and the thread spool in one hand. Very rough looking whipping too. :))) In saying that I've caught some decent fish and some huge strikes and my dodgy guides haven't let me down yet.

Are you talking about the Maumee River in Ohio? If you are, I have been fishing it since the early 70s. The walleye's are in the middle of their run. We couldn't fish it this year because of covid-19.

Hi beautiful work! I am trying to make my own rod wrapper, so could you provide me with measures for the different pieces, or refer me to any site/document that helped you make your rod wrapper 🙂

Randy Eggleston a handsaw would work. That is 5.00 and elbow grease

  • @randyeggleston7138

I have a feeling you have a table saw; that right thereis about $300 for a cheap one and thats not the only wood tool you used. So a wrapper would b about as much as you table saw
