That money should have been used for the people who work for them who are not millionaires if they didn't use it for that use they're just like the rest of them who used it for their own personal gain.

The article is weird because they’re directing the ire at musicians instead of our government that approved their applications. They gave multi-millionaires millions of dollars in GRANTS, not loans, instead of reducing student loan debt, ensuring people were housed and fed, providing relief to service workers etc. Why the hell did the government give money to people creating superspreader events whom spend money frivolously? Hold those people accountable.

@@parkerisles7256 exactly! I feel like people that don’t understand the inner workings of the business will want the musicians punished out of envy while completely overlooking the systems that unjustly enabled it to happen.

You're right. Unfortunately, it's the system, not just the people. It sounds like there were individual SBA employees who wanted to vet these grants, but were pressured to give out the money. Once they give out the money, that keeps the fraud side of the business operating. It also provides politicians speaking points on both sides of the issue--they tried to look like saviors when they gave the money out, now they want to look like they're anti-corruption heroes for the problem they a had a hand in created. They have 4 years of "issues" to run on and get re-elected, but the root of the problem was never solved. It's wild.

The accountant did their job and you can’t call it fraud if everything was reported in booking keeping and sent to the government.

I am grateful that J Nolan integrated this story into his content. I had forgotten how much I enjoyed this type of coverage. It's a nice reprieve from the scandalous reality we're living through.
One of my biggest takeaways is that urban art does not qualify for most arts funding, if any. After more than two decades of nonprofit work, I was embarrassed when I learned that the nonprofit industrial complex is another way for those in power to decide who deserves funding--or not. Sadly, I've recently worked with Black organizations and a small white-led organization, and I can not get them to understand how to fundraise effectively for their organizations because they are so used to depending on grant funding. Large, sustainable organizations get the majority of their funding from individuals--at every amount. The average person can't comprehend how we are being hustled in so many areas, so it's hard to accept even the simplest concepts to advance because people in power have the game so rigged. So much so, you have poor people windmilling for billionaires. Not supporting hip-hop as art, combined with the themes in the art form, keeps the struggling "from the bottom" narrative alive in our community, and other people actually enjoy dancing to our pain and strife as entertainment.
Again, I love content like this because I was trained in comparative social dynamics, so this opened my eyes in ways so many ways that I didn't expect.

Why is this an issue now? People who received PPP funds had to report on their expenditures a couple of years ago. Did the govt accept the report and write off the loans? If so, why are people bringing this up now? This is diabolical!

Is Business Insider going to do a story on Trump’s finances an tax avoidance schemes next? Putting CB as the “cover boy” for the story was practically slander with hints of racially insensitive undertones.
29:00 Swae Lee is either broke, cheap, or greedy. He hates paying taxes so much he spoke out against voting for Kamala. What he will soon realize is no matter how much money he makes, publications like this will still view you as an undeserving Black person and try to portray you as trash, despite you publicly bashing the Black woman and endorsing their preferred political party (or insinuating you endorse them by telling people not to vote for Kamala. Lol).

Lil Wayne: Did you see my d*ck? I’m sure it’s much longer and better than the email you sent and u like em long right Ms Long?
