    Mate you've blown it out of the water with this one. Despite those minor issues, it seems that this is a decent little kit. The extra riveting you did is a nice touch. To me it looks like you've got the mix of weathering and tonal variation spot on. You should be very proud of this.

    Cracking build and finish!! Love to see an F.8 :D
    One tip I would like to share if I may, regarding your riveting. I usually add riveting to my own models, and when I've found it necessary, I've always gone over the finished row with a light sand, to remove the inevitable raised ridges that the process makes. That said, I usually work in 24th and 32nd scale, so these ridges tend to be a lot more noticeable. Just thought I'd share and the love, as it were ;)
    Keep on keeping on - loving your work! :D

    • @ModellingWeekly
      @ModellingWeekly  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks very much man! I really appreciate it :) yeah, I actually did go over the rivets with some light sanding off camera, but I must have gone for a grade that was far too fine to make a real difference (2500), so next time I'd probably knock them off with 1200 ish and then polish up with 2500 and 3k

    • @ModellingWeekly
      @ModellingWeekly  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks very much man! Yup, totally! Any paint residue left on it just becomes one with the putty, kind of in the same way that if you put paint on a piece of blue tack you'd be able to mix it all in and it would look like pretty much how it started 👍

    Beautiful build. How long did you wait between applying the panel line wash and wiping it with the paper towel?

    • @ModellingWeekly
      @ModellingWeekly  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks so much! The wait was roughly 15 mins, though it depends on how much wash you apply + how much you thin it down :) a thinner wash will require a longer wait, as more white spirit has to evaporate before you can wipe/blend in the excess :) hope this helps!

    Not sure if you still reply to comments, but i want to get into model planes. I might use this video as a guide. any tips?

    • @ModellingWeekly
      @ModellingWeekly  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@vxnFloppa I get loads so can't reply to all of them but I do my best! My top tip would be to not rush, and take it all at your own pace. This community is great in that people are very happy to give you loads of tips and tricks right from the get go, but as a newcomer it can sometimes be overwhelming, so my first advice would be to take it all at your own pace as I mentioned. Other than that, so long as you have the absolute basics down (i.e. thinning your paint, cleaning up the sprue nibs from parts), you'll improve and develop your skills much faster than you might think! Above all, make sure you have fun and you'll do great 😉
      Edit - I should also mention, if there's ever anything specific you'd like to learn that you've seen someone else do, there's a plethora of videos here on TH-cam so don't be afraid to search up tutorials! Loads of great creators on here

    • @vxnFloppa
      @vxnFloppa หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@ModellingWeekly I've done cars. The biggest difference I see in planes is weathering. I am horrible at weathering! No matter how much I try it always looks unnatural. But I've never tried using that technique you showed with the chipping fluid

    • @ModellingWeekly
      @ModellingWeekly  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@vxnFloppa ahh, I see, I thought you meant you were just starting out :) yes, weathering is the main difference I'd say. Learning all the different weathering skills is a gradual process, but a good place to start would be learning how to work with oils. They're incredibly versatile when it comes to a range of different effects, such as panel lines washes, dirt/grime, gun smoke, exhaust fumes etc, so getting yourself some of those would be a great place to start. I have a fairly recent video about oil washes on my channel, which has some good info on surface preparation and how to use your oils if you want to check that out :)

    At least no "needle stich holes" on the surfaces, imitating rivets. The grooves are fine, nonetheless they are of course not to scale. To make it correctly, the grooves have to be filled with putty and after sanding reapply them with a sharp knife. But who will take this effort?

    • @ModellingWeekly

    The atomization of the Harder und Steenbeck airbrushes are mind bogglingly terrible. My Evolution is resing in the depth of one of my drawers, because even with the 0.2 mm nozzle it creates much, much worse surface than a cheapo 0.3 mm noozle chinesium Iwata clone airbrush.

      My infinity works completely fine, maybe a problem with your unit?

    • @egyeneskifli7808
      @egyeneskifli7808 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ModellingWeekly Nope. Even in this video is clearly visible that despite the 0.15 nozzle the paint is poorly atomized. Pratically just splattered. And in all of the videos I see the same thing. So no, not just my unit. The whole stuff is just inferior to any kind of Iwata system airbrush. For the same price as the Evolution a GSI PS-267 is a much superior airbrush.
