This video is such a lifesaver!!! I have been so confused and could not find a clear explanation for how to do this. After literal hours of searching with confusion, I found this. Who knew it was so simple!!! Thank you!!!
Extracting them is a cool thing for modification but adding modified files back in the original folder (with modified sounds and so on) is my main objective but I can't find anything about it sadly... 😢
Lets say I open a nif I'm viewing in BSA browser and make changes, will that change save in the packed BSA? Or do these files need to be extracted, edited, saved, re-packed and then made to replace the previous BSA?
anyone had sucsess unpacking the meshdata from starfield? it seems to work on texture archives but when it comes to mesh archives it locks up and freezes.
Somewhat unrelated: I'm debating buying anniversary edition on pc to utilize the aylied, deadlands, and Morrowind throwback assets for modding. Are the esm files associated with creation club content accessable in the creation kit after purchase?
Awesome! Great explanation... unfortunately, I'm trying to extract the snow textures from Cathedral Landscapes BSA and I don't know what they are as they aren't named the same as the actual texture files.
I have been out of modding for quite sometime so I must ask a silly question. Would this replace the old BSA extraction tool used when making custom followers? My question may not be worded correctly ( its been awhile since I have touched Skyrim)
This BSA Extraction tool will work for all versions of Skyrim so you no longer need to use something like BSAopt. That said, BSAopt is very good for packing BSAs for Legacy Skyrim. Hope that makes sense.
@Darkfox127 I am trying to port one of my mods to PS4 and there are textures/meshes that generate during the upload. The upload fails and says to remove the dependencies but it doesn't say what the files go to. The paths it says to delete are Textures/meshes dds files but they regenerate in the upload. how do i extract these out of the mod permanently?? please help thank you
Very true but not everyone is an MO user and there are other advantages to having a dedicated tool such as viewing the individual files without having to extract everything straight away.
@@ChristianYuang Go to setting then the Plugins tab then scroll down to the plugin where you see BSA Extractor click on the Enable box but leave only_alterate_source false
@@ascheron2 Ok, if Defender is preventing it from starting Go to Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Security > Virus & threat protection. Under Virus & threat protection settings, select Manage settings, and then under Exclusions, select Add or remove exclusions. Select Add an exclusion, and then select from files, folders, file types, or process. If not, just help me fully understand and we'll go from there.
hey please some help , i use mo2 and everytime i install a mod that contains bsa files its says at the end of the installation : this mod contains archive BSA whould you like to extract it ? Still the best at concise explanations in a professional manner. Perfect as always. Thank you!
god damn i've been watching your videos for about 10 years now, you're an absolute mentor (no homo, no cap)

Needed this to extract Improved Closed Face helmets 💀

Short and to the point, thank you for your video!
Imma modify some mods, don't like some of the helms from Improved open helms.

Once extracted, can i just delete the .bsa and install or meger with another mod?

Is your old video on how to pack or create bsa files still relevant?.
might be a dumb question, but can this help me get the fishing esp/bsa into skyrim vr? ive seen people do it but cant find a vid that show's how

If you use MO, you can set MO to ask if you want to unpack the BSA file or not.
