Season 1, Episode 1 "Mr. Monk and the Candidate - Part 1": "Mr. Monk and the Candidate" is the two-part pilot episode of the American comedy drama detective television series Monk.
Season 8, Episode 16 "Mr Monk and the End - Part 2": Monk tries to find out the truth about his wife Trudy's death while pursuing her killer, and finally uncovers a vital clue.

Monk Synopsis: Adrian Monk (Emmy®-winner Tony Shalhoub) was once a rising star with the San Francisco Police Department, legendary for using unconventional means to solve the department's most baffling cases. But after the tragic and still-unsolved murder of his wife, Trudy, the devastated Monk becomes obsessive-compulsive. His psychological disorder has caused him to develop an abnormal fear of virtually everything: germs, heights, crowds... even milk. Monk's condition costs him his job, but he's back as a police consultant despite the unique challenges he encounters in his everyday life. These challenges lead Monk to hire a personal nurse, Sharona Fleming (Bitty Schram), who is always there to offer her assistance, even with the simplest of tasks (like organizing his sock drawer). Her less-than-subtle prodding keeps the "defective detective" on track in his investigations, as well as in his efforts to convince Captain Stottlemeyer (Ted Levine) to allow him to return to the force.

There are scenes that to this day still makes me cry, like when he recognized Trudy's eyes.

I love how at the end we see him more relaxed as he was likely with Trudy. Picky, but not in need of a very willing assistant.
And finally he can sleep in the middle.
For those who don't know, they announced a Monk Movie. The series finale does play some part. So if you haven't finished the show, then finish it.
Perhaps Monk will find the source of Covid 19 virus. Lol Monk investigating a germ filled lab😂

a monk movie. tell me more. anyone who loves monk is a friend of mine. i love everyone in monk. they are my family. one thing happened in this show that was a million to one to pull off. they replaced great with great when bitty left. dont ever even think about a who was better question. these 2 women were magnificent and i love them. randy could be so funny at times , i would lose reality ,i was laughing so hard. when he said that snoop called him white, i thought i was going to pass out

I do love that this shows not just how much Monk has remained the same over the years, but also how far he’s come.😊❤
MONK was/is a great, intelligent blend of acting, script, comedy and drama. I’m a big fan of Traylor Howard, but I think Bitty Schramm was excellent as well. (Plus EVERYONE else in the cast)
Traylor Howards character was the most annoying. Her constant mockery of Monk and her narcissism made her, imo, the worst Monk character.
Sharona was so much better than Natalie
@@Irunwithscissors63 Bohoo. Anyway, the chemistry between Traylor and the rest of the main cast kept the show going for many years. And they'll even come in the new movie, Natalie is the best. Get over it.

This video gives off a lot of emotional context when people saw the Very First Episode and the Very Last episode within 7 years. I didn’t know about Monk until 2011, and that really made me feel like I MISSED out on all of the Action. But you know, I learnt a Lot about it after seeing ALL episodes. 🙂
This Show will always be a CLASSIC/CRIME show. Lots of crazy, and funny moments. 😆

@@MomoShiho4869 Unfortunetly, she won't be, the posted out the list of the cast members which will include: The famous Detective himself Adrian Monk, Natalie Teeger, Captain Leland Stottlemeyer, Doctor Bell, Trudy Monk (in a flashback or something), and Monk's Daughter from the Series finale Molly.

I use to always by pass monk on television I would never watch that show one day I decided to watch the show and now monk has become my number one show . Well written and scripted and acted . That show is number 1 in my book I have always been a colombo fan but monk got him beat . and Lt Randy is just as silly as monk . I wish that they would bring the show back with new episodes I want miss a show

Now the last episode would’ve been a great time for Monk to get his badge back as the final scene instead of 2 episodes prior to the series finale
Him getting his badge back was him realizing he preferred being a consultant better and accepting that change.

@@name2.040 what I’m saying is he realized he enjoyed working as a consultant with Natalie and Captain Stottlemeyer more now than being a full on cop again. He realized he’s enjoying what his life is now instead of just wishing for his old life.

Wife and I stopped watching the show. I think it was in season 3. Monk went from a genius that could see what others couldn't to a neurotic guy with OCD and no discernible intelligence. Maybe they brought that back later on but that was the whole reason we started watching. Season 1 was a great show with great writing.
