Yes, Fall is a wondrous time of year...the crisp cool days with the pungent smell of the earth and camp fires brings memories of 1963 the year hubby & I were engaged. Love listening to you and watching your videos!!
Good morning! A little info! One of the meanings of "cockle" is the chamber of a kiln: in reference to the heart, it refers to the chambers, of which there are four (two atria and two ventricles). The heart has always been associated with emotions, especially love, excitement and fear, probably because when we feel a strong emotion we feel our heart thumping and beating faster. So when something "warms the cockles of our heart", it is a reference to something pleasant that makes our heart beat faster and makes us feel good. It is probably also the origin of the saying that something gives us that "warm and fuzzy feeling".

Gorgeous. Just lovely. ❤️🌺. I do love this book. I think the big eyes on the butterfly is for his protection from predators. 😊 that’s probably why it makes you feel funny. It’s suppose too.
There he stood. Patiently waiting for his wife to notice him, with the smoothie he made her in hand. How long he stood there? Nobody knows! The smoothie got warm, his hand cold. But he did not mind. He will do this again tomorrow and the day after and the day after that. What a man, what a man, what a mighty good man!

The start to finish is fantastic, I see an idea for many separate steps which I save in my library in certain categories but i can hardly ever find readily what i need. Tks Gayle, tell Mike to keep bringing those smoothies🥤
Oh My!!!! You just made me a very happy lady!! I'm just getting into handmade journals and I have been buying things for the last 4 months trying to build up a stash. I bought a paper punch from an estate sale and was so disappointed because I really wanted a border punch. But I thought, well, I can use it to punch the bottom of the right width tags. I was kind of sorry I bought it. But THEN, you got yours out and unfolded the SIDES. I got excited and went and grabbed mine, hoping with all I had that the sides of mine folded down and was a border punch. (Because it is absolutely beautiful with all kinds of flowers and leaves on it!) Lo and behold, my sides fold down and IS a border punch!!! LOL Yes, I'm a dingbat! Had NO idea the sides folded down and was thinking it was almost useless! LOL!! Thank you Gayle!! I'm so happy!! :)

Just a couple of projects to finish up till I can start my altered book 🤣! Yours is beautiful. Just to press home the point about old guys on ladders...my Dad at 63 years old fell 28 feet into a concrete stairwell...praise God he only broke 6 bones and had multiple bruises but survived till age 88. It should have been so much worse. Please, be like Gayle and keep your old guys off the ladders. ☺️Hugs and blessings
This has been the best series and I’ve really enjoyed it. I am sad that it’s pretty much done😩 but I know you will have more great things in store for us. I’m still planning on getting to the dollar store to find me a book to work in. I’m pretty sure I will re watch this series again to make mine. When you started... I said "never" and I watched every episode... and really it's a combination of having a great sense of colour and shape and commitment to the project (like all passionate projects). Hi there Gayle :) Oh your poor hubby, but boy did I giggle!! I had pictures of him just standing there, silent as a mouse with an almost puppy like expression waiting to be noticed :D After that description I think I need Autumn/Fall....but i'll only moan when it get into my arthritis! lo, but snuggled up all cozy with a hot drink and a good book, watching the weather and the colours.... yeah, bliss! Have really loved this series, such a beautiful make! What a wonderful way to showcase some favourite papers and keep enjoying them. And Natasha ( the frame lady) oh my gosh, she REALLY need's to stock those, they would positively FLY out of her shop! Ohh, and I have finally been brave! I bought my 1st book to rip up! So long as my brother dosent find out, ill survive ...but I did close my eyes on the 1st page!! lol
Another masterpiece Gayle, i love this altered book, especially the variety of digitals. It's like a treasure chest of yummy papers created by so many talented people. Having them all in one place, just open the book and flip through it for inspiration and enjoyment. And I love the stickers you added, such a nice touch. I I think the spine is perfect how you left it. I was saying "nah, it doesn't need the lace ;-) I'm almost finished with my altered book for writing and now I'm turning an altered book into an ephemera folio. I really "gutted" it so I will have lots of room for goodies. Adding small tracing paper pockets today. I didn't cover the remaining pages at all, I figure they will be covered by all the bits and pieces I add to the pockets. I like how it's coming along so far and you inspired me to do it from this series so thank you very much!!
I agree 100% - STAY OFF the roof/ladders! I get weak in the knees if I walk outside and see hubby on the roof or up on a ladder. I'm so glad you were able to get someone out to clean those gutters! Such a good chuckle when Mr A brought your smoothie :-) what a guy. tyfs my friend, this is a great series and very inspiring!! big hugs xo

I remember back when you did you Christmas altered book, a subbie suggested a template after you were already over half way though, and once you made it and started using it you were like "wow, I wish I'd thought of that sooner". So, I LOL when you said it again with this altered book. You are awesome! I don't always get to comment, but I always watch, as my son calls it "my Gayle video" for the day. I'm a day behind today, but I'll get caught up and be current tomorrow. ;)

Hello! I have enjoyed these videos very much! I have never been able to do anything to a book. In the third grade our teacher stressed that you should never harm a book (along with a ruler to your knuckles). It has stuck with me my whole life. I'm 61. I bought a book at the goodwill and have been making a journal along with you. It was really hard tearing out that first page but it got easier. I have finished the book and plan to give it to my daughter for her birthday. Thanks so much for helping me to overcome a taboo in my mind. :) Love your videos and your work. I've even ordered some of your favorite things.

Once again, my library of digitals just got bigger 😂🤣 A hint: I use Avery full sheet clear labels to print many things I want to fussy cut. The finish is just slightly frosted but looks great and especially if like me, one isn’t precise in the fussy cutting.

I have loved watching you do this altered book. They are so fun to work on. I love Star Wars. My husband doesn't, so they are some of the movies I watch late at night after he goes to bed. He watches westerns and shootem up movies like Rambo and others. Thanks for sharing your process.

You northerners really do need to get your hammock time in now. Here in AZ we must wait until maybe mid Oct and then in the morning as it can be toasty in Oct afternoons. For now we live in our homes, cars and it used to be the mall.

I’ve been following along with you and so far so good. I covered all my pages with Emily’s coffee dyed papers. Before I broke my leg ...fell off a ladder...I was moving my crafts into the bedroom off my living room making it a playroom/craft room. I am rediscovering lots of things so I’m decorating with die cuts from brown grocery bags and craft card. I added some color with my porch prints, wildflowers and flower stickers from the uk create and craft channel. I hope you make an altered book again for Christmas! Thank you for all you do. I never miss any of your videos.❤️
