@@WolfHreda you can actually downgrade it to a 3/5 and put 6 rac's 2 without too much issue, with enough ammo to fire everything in full auto for like 7 turns
I am already in love with this mech. It has four freaking long-range shotguns just going "pew, pew pew!" Every turn, and that sounds just so freaking cool. RIP to the Republic of the Sphere.
For those banging on about this being a combined arms asset to swat vehicles and flyers, there are decidedly better options that are cheaper, perform better, don't hobble other applications for it, or some combination thereof. In particular, get something that actually has an AA quirk if you're particularly worried about whether you can hit VTOLs and ASFs. And then of course, there are vehicles to boat autocannons for AA duty. At no heat cost.
The malice is an anti air platform, you don't have to use it as a king crab or an atlas. Lbx's cluster shots have a -3 when shooting at airborne targets. The malice is a sky broom and a very good one.
@3capullosenapuros paying for a whole assault mech just so it can shoot down aircraft is a waste of BV. You could get a blackjack or yagermech for half the price
@@Harpy_Explains oh, yeah, you totally could, there's no argument there. I think this is the kind of mech that shines way better on narrative missions or campaigns. It's steep for an AA platform, but all that armour and endurance, you can bring it in several missions without having to repair or salvage it every time, a point where the rifleman, and specially the jaegermech fall short.
@@3capullosenapuros Yea, AA heavies and assaults make more sense in the context of a campaign involving one or more entire regiments per belligerent in planetary campaigns that can last weeks.
2:00 Legendary clip. I like your funny videos funny man. It also makes me want to actually play a game of lancer rather than owning 8 models I have yet to use. I really like the concept of how crunchy the damage system is.
The Malice absolutely shreds against vehicles and especially VTOLs, at least. Also compared to the king crab and Atlas, it has range. Is it good now? Still not great but it has a purpose when played by BV. In universe where you have to pay Cbills? Fuck no
Never underestimate the LBX boat. Head shots and TAC's can Uno Reverse you so fast you'll think John Cena just snuck into the ring and hit you with a chair
The funny part is its from a late enough era the Malice basically has 3 refits, all of which use clantech to make it turn into a pilotcooker as none of them add more hear sinks but will put on Imperoved Heavy Medium Lasers/Clan ER&Pulse lasers. And one even gets a pair of Clanner LB-10x autocannons with enough ammo to last longer than most competitive games run for. It also is a late era ammo heavy assault mech that doesn’t have CASE (according to Sarna at least) in the base model. Which is weird ngl.
So this is basically that meme in MW:O about one solitary Annihilator lurking in spawn until everyone else is dead, only to roll out and absolutely wipe the ground with the damaged enemies who came looking for blood.
I'm gonna ruin your whole life at the 2 mintues and 30 second area. What if I just bring Savage Wolves to the fight? ... yea... It's even shittier than you thought lol

Sometimes crit fishing is hilarous, nothing feels better then doing basically no serious damage, but still knocking a mech over. Its like killing an enemy mech with a big Air Horn
Yeah, the Malice was an attempt to create a mobile crit farming machine, at the cost of not being able to open its own holes to exploit. If you are generous you could argue that its trying to farm piloting injuries, but nobody has time for how long that takes. The only saving grace it has is that it can mobility kill vehicles quickly, but as a 100 ton mechs thats not much of a saving grace. A 4/6 100 tonner is a bit like Icarus with his wax wings, just because you can doesn't mean you should.
As I've said elsewhere, this is a design that would have made sense in the immediate aftermath of Tukayyid with the even wider proliferation of advanced technology leading to experimental designs trying new things. That it came out 80 years after is inexcusable. It is so expensive, and ultimately, even if you want this kind of loadout outside of advanced rules, the Stone Rhino configuration 5 does better, punching harder, farther, and more times, while also being an excellent choice for smug enjoyment of a legal victory... oh, and built in CASE to survive longer. But overall, none of the official configs are particularly good, so experiment and make it better if you get it. Or if you have to use one of the official variants, the XP is possibly the least terrible.
I am not a fan of the Crucible ngl. For basically the same BV you can get the immensely better Hellstar that does the same thing (throwing out 60 damage a turn in 15-point clusters), but without explodeables, ammo, and faster to boot. Sure you don't get jumpers, but also jumping will probably kill your accuracy anyways, and I'd rather have 18.5 tons armor than 15 for my BattleMech Deleter 9000 Assault
Hey, want a 100 ton assault mech with four LBX5s and no quirk that makes it better at shooting down aircraft? No? Okay, reasonable. Into the bin with the other Dark Age machines that don't cut it? Yeah... Reasonable.
I'd love to see this paired with an Enforcer or Lancelot-01. Otherwise, it seems pretty terrible. Man, imagine if this was two Enforcers in a trench coat?
The even sadder part is, if u r using flechs sheets, this mech is even worse - cuz LB-X autocannons in flechs sheets can only fire cluster ammo, not solid AC shots
@DarkonFullPower paying for a whole assault mech just so it can shoot down aircraft seams like a big waste. You could get a blackjack or yagermech for half the price
