One of the best-known voices in rock, Scott Stapp has revealed the bombastically ominous “Deadman’s Trigger.” It is the fourth track from his upcoming solo album, Higher Power, which will be released on March 15, 2024 with Napalm Records. On an album of metamorphosis, “Deadman’s Trigger” warns of mutually assured destruction when pushed to the breaking point, until the melodic chorus arrives like salvation. The charged-up banger strobes with bold sonic swagger as one of the album’s hardest-hitting tracks.
Higher Power, the album, follows Stapp’s triumphant 2019 album, The Space Between The Shadows, which debuted at #3 on the Billboard Current Rock Albums chart and the Billboard Current Hard Music Albums chart; #4 on the Billboard Record Label Independent Current Albums chart; #10 on the Billboard Current Physical Albums chart; and #10 on the Billboard Top Current Albums chart, while landing at #3 on the UK’s official Rock and Metal Chart.

Recently saw Scott live. He and his band rocked and sounded great. His voice is so clear and he looked to be in great shape. Looking forward to seeing him with Creed again.

Wow! Musically this is a mix of Creed/Puddle of Mudd but the end result...,... HOT DAMN is this good! Scott's vox are very good as is his ability to entertain with it. One of the best out there and you know what.....long live Scott Stapp. At first glance all those years ago we loved him. Then we didn't. But damn, he was the shit all along. We fked up. Definitely a movie kinda song
The main riff being in 7/4 is a nice twist! It kinda fits the air of danger. I also like the vocal slides at the end. Scott's voice works well for the heavy-country vibe. I thought there were some shades of that in the title track, so a song like this is a cool addition.

This is more proof we don't need Creed together. Instead we get Scott's solo stuff and Alter Bridge, both proving they don't need the other to make good music. Though the last couple aB albums lacked creativity they still had some good tunes.

With scott touring for this record while mark writes the next tremonti record I’m worried there’s gonna be no time for new creed material for the reunion tour bc as great as he sounds here he’ll sound even better with mark
It is an exaggeration when Tremonti said that it would take 9 months to make a Creed album, when in 2009 if I remember correctly they entered the studio in April and finished in May and reconciled in January, so I think they are only going to record the album they have saved from 2012, they are going to finalize it and that is what they are going to give us
They have an idea on the table to write and record while they are on tour, practicing during soundcheck. Mark Tremonti already said he's got an albums worth of Creed songs, just not polished. It's coming.
Its been hinted at that the Creed record is already finished and ready to go. I guess we'll find out

I really enjoyed his Proof of Life album, I know most of it is more pop-ish but I really liked it. And some other ones sprinkled here and there.
So glad to see Scott overcome his demons and come back to the world of rock and roll and he's bringing this heavy groove "quiet heavy metal" in the realm of Thornley and Big Wreck. Early Theory of Deadman and Breaking Benjamin with a hard three finger shot of Creed. Love this tune!
