As someone who played AoM as a kid and is returning to Retold, this is great! Keep doing videos like this, they help alot for us who didn't stayed in the game all along these years!

There were mentions of nice QoL changes like the auto grouping of new units into a hotkey group, but it wasnt clear to me how to do it. Could someone please explain if there is an input required or is it a setting in the settings menu?
+1 on the hotkey video, that's the part of the game that looses my ranked battles atm. I just loose game bcs of being slower than the opponent by 0.1 sec of an action, that summarizes as Abt 5/10 mins to a 40 min game@@BoitTV

How did you make the trained military unit join the control group straight away? And also you have all your military on one group and then use double click (or control left click) to select one type of unit during fights?
This is just a simple strategy to try out which keeps you safe from most things and will kill off an opponent who greedily booms. There's lots of ways to play AoM :)
Thanks Boit for the great guide highlighting some of the new QOL! I'm coming back into RTS after a lot of adventure and Turn-based strategy, is the only way to move the camera by screen side scroll? If it is a "just get used to it" thing I get that too.... Look forward to seeing you crush some real people after that AI stomping
Somehow I always get demolished after 10 minutes, the AI is relentless with its attacks :)). I usually have 30-35 villagers and ¬20-25 military units by then plus upgraded towers and Sentinels and still get crushed, you didn't even use the sentinel power and still beat the AI so easily. Idk what I'm doing wrong, I can't rebuild my army fully and I'm attacked again and again until I have no more resources.
I know the gods power restoration and pigform are strong, but why not focus on my archers with the other choices of gods like ares and apollo? Arent they buffed naturally by Hades?
Very helpful video. I'm new to RTS and was wondering when you get upgrades like through the military academy, does the upgrades stay with you the whole game? Or only for the units that were alive when the said upgrade was complete?
All upgrades are forever, and apply to every single unit of that type alive and yet to be recruited (in most RTS games in fact), divine power, although, are not forever, and they aren't considered upgrades.
maybe a beginner question but, when u drop second TC early, u waste more recourse not being able to make that volume of army so fast, right? then the opponent raids U at 7 min, what u should do? hide and pray?

Why do people choose Athens over Ares when playing Hades? I think cyclops> Minotaur and the upgrades of Ares seems better for toxotes strategy, which is quite commom for Hades players
Wait a minute, Titan AI DOESN'T cheat anymore? Livestock can go back to the TC automatically? Honestly some of this QoL can understandably frustrate veterans but as one myself that has terrible APM and just enjoys fighting the AI, that's a Godsend.

Try this. Once everything is downloaded, restart Stream entirely. That worked for me last night when the preload had the same issue. If you preloaded, there is a patch that needs to download before you can play too which might not automatically start if you have an update queue.

All you need to do is create a control group and then set a rally point to on a unit in that control group!

I really appreciated this. I just spent a good hour drilling myself on getting my early game macro right.

Why dont you use the beginning god power of defense towers? In all the guides I see no one uses them and im curious as to why
At 11:45 how did you set up so their already grouped as they come out? Cant find it seems really useful

As a newcomer to AoM: Why wait until you're close to the pop cap before taking extra Town Centers?

You can use right click hold to scroll as well I believe and arrow keys.

How do you affect newly trained military automatically to a given group?
How do you set up the automatic control group adding newly trained troops to it?
Just create a control group on a unit and the get all your military buildings and right click (creating a rally point) onto that unit.
How do you build the Erebus vaults? I researched it at the storehouse but cannot find it anywhere (build menu, powers menu)

wall very well, guess unit counters correctly and have very good timing. Also, some gods are better at it than others

The Minotaur is just so cheap... Restoration is great as well. But yeah, Cyclops can do work!
