To me, this song is about growing up, leaving my childhood behind, leaving the magic, imagination and innocence and leaving my childhood behind, slowly learning that the world isn't really as it had seemed, and as I'm getting ready to go to university next year, leaving with a heavy heart, unsure of how such a perfect world existed to me, but keeping it in my heart and not letting it leave, the memories, the freedom, the love, friendship, adventure and beauty. It's not as sad or deep as what many people think of when they hear this song, but when I listen to this I like to imagine my favorite fictional character. Holding my hand, guiding me through this wonderful place, making me feel *loved* and it makes me cry every time. But it helps me. I had forgotten how magical it is to be a child. As I grew older, it seemed as though the world had lost its charm. This song reassured me that there is still wonder in the world, and that I still have my inner child to return to when the world becomes too much.
This song will always hold a special place in my heart. When I was recovering from my eating disorder, I also struggled with insomnia and had extreme hunger, so when I'd wake up at 3 or 4 AM and was too hungry to fall back asleep, I'd play this in the kitchen and dance to it as I waited for my meal to heat up in the microwave. Special nights- pain, but healing pain, and not needless suffering.

The tone of this song is so beautifully bittersweet. It’s like a parent telling their child a magical story that was told to them when they were little, and wishing they could go back to when everything was simple.
For me this song represents the childhood I was never allowed to have. It's the joy of watching my siblings and cousins grow up without a care in the world and also the sadness that I'll never get that. It's the pain that comes when people tell me I'm to young to be so sad and bitter and that I should look on the "bright side" even though my light faded the first time my dad put my mom in the hospital. But it's also the relief in knowing that I am prepared to help others through the pain and suffering, into a stable loving environment. But most of all, this song reminds me of the people that didn't give up on me when it seemed like my life was going nowhere, the teachers and relatives that constantly pushed me to be better and the brothers that made me want to be a better person.

Heard this for the first time yesterday. I’ve known this song for awhile; and listened to it almost religiously throughout high school. About a month ago now; I was able to sing this song as my senior song at my school’s Pop’s Concert. All the seniors were able to choose our own specific song, and I felt as though this one was the best one for me to be able to vocally express that I would miss most of the people, and cherish the memories I’ve made there.

You’d been going through something recently so he insisted you meet him in an hour in the little forest by your house that you always went on walks with him in. Then he gave you a bag that had a beautiful pastel blue and white dress and told you to put it on before you went. You were confused and asked why but he said you’ll see.. One hour later: You had your dress sound like he said and your sister who is a hairstylist did your hair really pretty. You didn’t even ask her she just said that she should do your hair, so you let her still confused. Then you began to walk to the place in the forest he said to meet. You could see it but it wasn’t just the normal forest! He decorated every tree around him and flowers petals covered the path up to the also beautifully decorated bench he was sitting on and he was singing this song, welcome to wonderland, and the forest looked like wonder land! He sang the song along with playing it on his guitar he was also dressed nice. You cryed tears of joy as you say beside him in this beautiful fantasy. He even set up a little tea party picnic with cupcakes with floral designs and teacups golden rimmed. After the tea party you danced and laughed, and even played with a lovely white rabbit he’d got :) till the sun set, and when it did he put on these little lights hanging from the trees. At the end of the day when you were about to go home he took the mad hatter top hat off his head and pulled out a gorgeous little white box with floral and gold designs matching the theme around you. He opened it to reveal a ring and proposed! It was the best day of your life! 💕

To me, this song is about growing up, leaving my childhood behind, leaving the magic, imagination and innocence and leaving my childhood behind, slowly learning that the world isn't really as it had seemed, and as I'm getting ready to go to university next year, leaving with a heavy heart, unsure of how such a perfect world existed to me, but keeping it in my heart and not letting it leave, the memories, the freedom, the love, friendship, adventure and beauty. It's not as sad or deep as what many people think of when they hear this song, but when I listen to this I like to imagine my favorite fictional character. Holding my hand, guiding me through this wonderful place, making me feel *loved* and it makes me cry every time. But it helps me. I often have times when it feels like not a single person in this world cares about me, but when I listen to this and think about that character, it makes me feel like my existence is worth something. This song will always hold a special place in my heart. When I was recovering from my eating disorder, I also struggled with insomnia and had extreme hunger, so when I'd wake up at 3 or 4 AM and was too hungry to fall back asleep, I'd play this in the kitchen and dance to it as I waited for my meal to heat up in the microwave. Special nights- pain, but healing pain, and not needless suffering.

It captures the feeling of coming out of a daydream and realizing that what you're dreaming about will never truly happen, so you want to go back into it. It's a cruel cycle.

For me this song represents the childhood I was never allowed to have. It's the joy of watching my siblings and cousins grow up without a care in the world and also the sadness that I'll never get that. It's the pain that comes when people tell me I'm to young to be so sad and bitter and that I should look on the "bright side" even though my light faded the first time my dad put my mom in the hospital. But it's also the relief in knowing that I am prepared to help others through the pain and suffering, into a stable loving environment. But most of all, this song reminds me of the people that didn't give up on me when it seemed like my life was going nowhere, the teachers and relatives that constantly pushed me to be better and the brothers that made me want to be a better person.

About a month ago now; I was able to sing this song as my senior song at my school’s Pop’s Concert. All the seniors were able to choose our own specific song, and I felt as though this one was the best one for me to be able to vocally express that I would miss most of the people, and cherish the memories I’ve made there.

I lost a friend, we always dreamed of making the world our wonderland, but now, it's just me, so now I must achieve that dream, for his sake, thank you for this song.
Update: It's been a tough a tough time but, I have made progress, I'm pursuing our goal and even though I haven't moved on, I've moved forward

i sang this song to my daughter when she was born for three nights straight and many times after we got home.. she passed away earlier this month and i sang it to her one last time at the funeral home... it pains me to hear this song since, but it also reminds me of my sweet angel baby.

This makes me think of an angel guiding a child or child-like adults through to their next life. It's wholesome, whimsical, kind and mournful, and at the end the angel has to relive a life on Earth to make sure they don't forget to be kind to those who pass through their realm - not that they would forget!

This is one of your favourite songs and your boyfriend knows that. You’d been going through something recently so he insisted you meet him in an hour in the little forest by your house that you always went on walks with him in. Then he gave you a bag that had a beautiful pastel blue and white dress and told you to put it on before you went. You were confused and asked why but he said you’ll see..
One hour later:
You had your dress sound like he said and your sister who is a hairstylist did your hair really pretty. You didn’t even ask her she just said that she should do your hair, so you let her still confused. Then you began to walk to the place in the forest he said to meet. You could see it but it wasn’t just the normal forest! He decorated every tree around him and flowers petals covered the path up to the also beautifully decorated bench he was sitting on and he was singing this song, welcome to wonderland, and the forest looked like wonder land! He sang the song along with playing it on his guitar he was also dressed nice. You cryed tears of joy as you say beside him in this beautiful fantasy. He even set up a little tea party picnic with cupcakes with floral designs and teacups golden rimmed. After the tea party you danced and laughed, and even played with a lovely white rabbit he’d got :) till the sun set, and when it did he put on these little lights hanging from the trees. At the end of the day when you were about to go home he took the mad hatter top hat off his head and pulled out a gorgeous little white box with floral and gold designs matching the theme around you. He opened it to reveal a ring and proposed! It was the best day of your life! 💕

i think of wonderland as the place that all of the people who suffocate in their emotions go after they finally give up. the depressed kids are congratulating everyone for trying their hardest because they know how it feels. the anxious kids are trying to comfort everyone because they know how it feels.
Everyone that leaves has a heavy heart - that line always touches my heart.
I leave my place because of heartaches. And i want to go somewhere where i can calm and move on.
