- Exploring & Solo Camping, an EPIC Waterfall & HOBBIT Cave HIDDEN in a remote part of the forest. It was easy at first, then the bushwhacking started. The heat was almost too much to handle. The waterfalls were amazing. I found a Hobbit Rock cave with a fire pit. Just before supper a moose was eating from the river below the waterfalls. Cooked campfire sausage for supper with a nice cold beer by the falls and relaxed by the fire for the evening. Setup a tarp shelter just down from the falls.

Wicked cave!!! Seeing the moose is pretty cool too. This hot weather doesn't make it easy to enjoy the outdoors... lol.
The moose and cave where awesome. Your right the hot weather can make the experience really hard to deal with.

Thank you for sharing your outdoor adventure. I have yet to cook, never mind camp in the woods but hey if it is the Lord's will, it will happen as He plans!
I did meet a guy who owns a plot of woodland in the peak district last week though. He has a hot tipi for hire all year round, so would be great to camp there as a beginner!

Hey Stephanie. Yes the rapids were a great break from the heat. Sounds like you have a place to try the solo camping. As I beginner just make sure you have a good backup plan in case you forget something or the weather turns and you aren't equip to handle it. It does take time and practice like anything to be able to take on all the challenges you may face. But it's so worth it.

Great little Hobbit cave that someone created . Though I don't think you could pay me to sleep in it . Laying there watching the fire start to smolder , I would start thinking about Ted Kaczynski AKA the Unabomber . As you start to drift off to sleep your are awaken with the sense that someone or something is staring at you . As you open your eyes you notice two squinting eyeballs no more than six inches from your face . Slowly your vision comes into view , and you are looking at a drooling mouth with broken and rotted teeth . The stench emitting from the face almost makes you hurl in your mouth . You slowly reach for the bowie knife that you always carry only to find it's not waist side under the blanket where you know you set it before laying down to sleep, so with slow purposeful movement your fingers find a half lighted branch from the fire , and before you can plunge it into an eye socket , the powerful stench from his breath forces you back down into the sleeping bag , as he says " Move over , your own my side " AAAAUUUGHHhhhhhhhhh !

The heat is no joke! I'm from Arizona and know full well how it can drain you and become dangerous fast. Smart to get out early in the morning. With that, sorry you couldn't stay and enjoy your time outdoors longer... that looked like a really nice area by the river. Pretty neat finding the cave camp setup... but also use caution if/when someone returns to "their" spot. Beautiful moose! I've only seen them a long time ago while visiting Yellowstone National Park. Nice dinner... we make something similar with kielbasa, onion, pepper, cherry tomato, and potatoes. Always good cooking over a fire. I'm going out this weekend to the cool pines, and hope you can get out again when the weather is cooler, too. Cheers, my friend! Pete - KI7LIL
Hey Peter. I really wanted to stay and just take my time and have a good breakfast in the morning like I always do. It's the best part of the trip really for me. Having the coffee in the bush! But I didn't want to pay for it by staying to long. It was hot by the time and got out and I glad i didn't stay an 1 hour later. The food was simple but tasty. Fall and winter camping is coming up fast. be snow flying here before ya know it. LOL. Hope you enjoy your trip and be safe.

Hey CO. I know about Alma/fundy just never camped there before. I mostly camp crownland or remote type places.

Thanks dude. I'm thinking about trying to get back in the snow. Maybe do a winter camp. Not sure how that water level might come up and be in the cave as it close to the river. Be a sweet night tho. It's a hard bush whack to get there so the deep snow might make it really complicated.
@@JoshuaGammon I don't know if I'd camp anywhere near that cave, to be honest. It could be someone's "Bug-Out" spot or a poacher's camp. Either way, they might not be happy to have someone nearby or know their place exists.
@@debbiemcclelland3507 You right it could be. I figured it's near a waterfall people used to be able to get back to so I should be ok. I didn't stay in and left everything as it was. But it is on public lands and you can't really control it.

You can obviously see that the items and that cave belong to someone, why would you go thru someone else’s private things.
This is on crown land so it's not private. We have a rule here that if you live things behind to "use it but don't abuse it". So everyone can enjoy it or add to it.
