Get adjustable suspension so you can tighten up the shock rebound that way you stop the bouncing after every shift. That will improve your ET. I'm looking to build a truck just like yours for my channel so I'll keep in touch dude.
Great work! The is the first case where I have seen a Hemi swap into a manual transmission truck. Is this the factory NV3500? Did you have to do any work to it? I have a 4.7L/NV3500 truck. And when the day comes my hope is to Hemi swap it, but it has to be in front of a manual transmission.
I have a 4.7 Dakota with the NV 3500 and would like to no a parts list of things needed to swap the Hemi in and does it bolt right up to the nv3500 ? And did you use a wiring harness out of a Hemi truck ?@@hemiswapracing2994
Also I’m looking into buying a 01 Dakota with a 4.7 comes with a nv3500 was wondering cus I see yours a manual also does it go with the 5.7 hemi and just use 4.7 clutch and flywheel ??? Cus I want a 5.7 hemi with a manual
I’m doing a 5.7/545RFE into my 08 Wrangler and I’m $13k doing all the work myself. Keeping in mind that 2k was for professionally built harness and correct flashed hemi PCM. Also 2k for custom stainless smog legal header exhaust. So 9k for donor engine/tranny and misc OEM parts and brackets. Would be nice if he has a full build sheet that he could share with everyone.
I’m swapping a 6.4hemi into my 70 challenger I’m short $22,000. $10,000 went into the 6.4 and transmission. I just did a stroker 408 for my Dakota hopefully getting a TKX soon, right now I’m stalled money is a problem
Anyone know if this dude is still alive? He was saying he was going to post some “detail” vids but nothing posted for 3 years now. I’d like to possibly do this to my ‘03 Dakota 5spd
Where are you located at I would be willing to pay for help swapping mine also can you use the nv3500hd transmission with this swap I have a nv3500hd that came out of a v8 dakota witch is soppoused to be stronger then a regular nv3500 also I have the posi rear end out of a v8 manual but the truck it’s going into is a v6 5 speed I want to use a older dodge truck 5.7 hemi just like you did
obviously you said 05 hemi. but out of what? reason i ask is the accessory drive. i heard truck hemis of those years cant use the 6.1 intake, so if urs is a charger example. how do the accessories fit, any issues with um?
So is the hemi a 5.7 with the 6.1 intake or is it strictly the 6.1 hemi? For the rear axle you might want to swap to a 410 gear ratio. I have an 03 Dak Quad I'm in process of doing a hemi build, just haven't made up my mind yet on which hemi and set up to go with.... I've got plenty of time to figure it out just not the money yet lol. Need more vids on this channel
My plan was to get a 5.7 and go through it with a new cam, oil pump, gaskets etc and one day if I found a 6.1 reasonably I will turn that into a 426 and swap it over and reuse that 5.7 somewhere else. That 5.7 would be enough for me at around stock eagle hp numbers 400 hp and say 450 to 500 torque shouldn't be hard with a decent cam and still be plenty drivable like a 4th gen ram. I don't even know what I'd do with a 426 besides break every axle in the truck since its a 4wd lol.
I’d love to hemi swap w/ 8 speed trans, in my 2001 dodge van,,, unfortunately,, no shop near me will take on a project like this,,,,, as far as your axle wrap problem,, here’s an old school trick, measure the front of your springs from axle to spring mount, get you some exhaust pipe, cut in half. Lengthwise,,, use muffler clamps to fasten pipe to the top of your springs,,, it’ll greatly reduce axle wrap, and not hinder spring function,,, we did this when using “slapped” style traction bars
Holly makes adapters to mount the mate the older transmissions and engine mounts. Do youtube seach hemi swaps to dakota, durango, ram. There entire series how to do it.
Theres video showing how do the swap from different garages. Holly makes all parts for swap and use existing older transmissions either adapters from Holly. If you do it self and junk yard engine be $5k to $8k depending on engine.
Shytt dats going to b one fast dakota jaja i had a 05 durango 5.7 hemmi shyttt i loved dat fucking truck thinking of getting another one again crashed it about a week ago :((
Have you thought about doing a build breakdown? I would love to hear about a parts list and how much it cost at the time you built the truck.
Nice job! That truck gets it!
Now imagine that with a 8spd trans. Nice build, thinking about doing one as well idk if I'll go 5.7 or 6.1.
im going with the 5.7 in my dakota
I recommend 5.7 because 6.1 engine doesnt do well in high performance
Awesome job!

Great truck
Awesome vid
Any updates on this truck? Would love to see more
Why didn't you keep your channel going? You clearly have the skills to build.
How much do you charge to do a swap

Yep fully factory transmission and clutch.
Do you have this swap documented anywhere? I'd like to educate myself with all that is needed to pull this off.

Yep. You can use all the stock stuff. Including the starter.
So sweet! I have an 03’ R/T and want to do this so badly. Was it crazy expensive? Thanks!!

What engine mounts did you use
Holley makes a kit
How much would you say you spent in all?

Question I have is can a 5.7 bolt up to a 2000 Dodge Dakota transmission if so I'm just going to do a 5.7 swap

How has the Nv3500 held up over the last year?
Man where those taillights come from
Man I’m wanting to do a hemi scat pack in my 04 Dakota but not finding anyone in emporia that will do it lmfao
I have a 2001 ram 1500 that needs more power. How easily would a swap like this be or how hard?
Theres video showing how do the swap from different garages. Holly makes all parts for swap and use existing older transmissions either adapters from Holly.
