Hi there! 👋 I saw your performance from Todd’s Tropical. I enjoyed it. I am a good TH-cam friend of Todd’s also. As he is a bassist, I am a drummer! Used to play hard rock, heavy metal, played in a band, etc… now I am an old guy who grows orchids like Todd…😅 Great video! Looking forward to see more!

Thank you! It was great meeting Todd at the gig the other night. He's such a cool dude (I just posted some of that gig yesterday). And thank you for being part of my channel!

Ever thought there was such a science to metal vocals and growling. New respect! 🤘

Thank you! Yes, it’s more about longevity and sustainability. So many awesome vocalists end up damaging their voice. As Elizabeth mentions, we have learned so much and there’s more education now on having a proper approach.

Hey, you should do a video on how to make a heavy metal band. That would make my day!

Great stuff Jason and Elizabeth. How do you practice singing without disturbing your flatmates or your neighbours? I imagine to practice properly you have to sing at full volume is that right? Thanks :)

I don’t think to necessarily have to practice at full volume all of the time, though you do need to have those times where you can push yourself.
I’ve found that just being consistent in light practices and singing, in general, is helpful. It’s the inconsistency that will hinder results.

So folks are just naturals. My daughter says I sound just like Ozzy. My niece is a mix of Aretha and Marrah Carey. My nephew is a hybrid of Garth and George Straight. My wife on the other hand.
couldn't hold a tune in a bucket and could really benefit from some lessons.

Yeah, there are those that seem to just have it while others have to work harder for it. But I truly believe that anything can be learned if you truly want it!

Elizabeth here! I agree with Jason! It’s amazing what I’ve had students achieve with relative pitch training. Would love to do a 1:1 session with her
