I'm happy you're talking about this because I see a lot of black women without their edges and I automatically think, for a lot of them, that it's due to tight hair styles, although I am aware of medical and stress issues. ❤
@tylynn256 Right. There are so many reasons it could be but tension alopecia is definitely one of them! And it can be prevented if we just stay on point and don't treat them bad!
I have androgenic alopecia…. Diagnosed 14 years ago and my edges will never grow in. I do get steroid injections every 8 weeks. I am on a hair growth journey until it’s time to let it go☺️

Glad that your back Kee, I’ve PCOS, it’s a nightmare, having Hirsutism, my weight constantly fluctuating is the worst 😰 and I just start experiencing thinner edges this year so now I’m thinking is it related 🤔
Hey Kee! Thank you for this. I lost the right side of my edges from braiding my hair so tight when I was a teenager. Then I started get it braided up and that was pulling on one side. Now I have edges on my left and bald edges on my right. It never grew back . All of that was years, years ago. My hair is paper thin. Bald edges on the right , full edges on the left
Why childbirth causes hair loss: Vitamin B complex (especially B6, B9 and B12) are really essential for preventing birth defects and reduce unwanted pregnancy symptoms - so its a highly utilised vitamin. Vitamin B complex is also essential for hair growth (especially B2, B3, B7, B9 and B12) are also important for hair growth and to lower stress hormones. Anywhere from 5-25% of women postpartum find themselves in Vitamin B Deficiency, and other women have suboptimal Vitamin B for their bodies (everyone has their own normal levels of vitamins that align to health, they may not have an official illness, but the levels are low enough that they have symptoms such as hair loss). Lots of vitamins and minerals are required to be topped up postpartum - vit D, magnesium, vit C, zinc and iron - and really essential is a good quality B complex as it helps support hair growth, recovery and assists the other vitamins and minerals so they work at their optimum ❤

My mom used to braid so tight my eyes pulled back too and i couldn't sleep. Also, started getting relaxers at 4, didn't stop until i was pregnant at 17. Had 4 more children with my husband and my last baby was all my body could take as far as my hair. It's long, but my edges are fading at my temples. Also, thinning edges and receding hairlines run on both sides of my family. I'm 32 and it kills my confidence
My whole front is gone. One day I woke up and my hair was gone. But I started thinking I think it was because all of the stress that I use to put on my hair. Like quick weaves not protecting my edges. I use to wear tiny, tiny micro braids. All of these things I stopped doing along time ago. But it has caught up with me. Also me suffering from low iron. I ended up having to get a blood transfusion. So the health problems has also add to loosing my hair. I wonder if it will ever come back. I have been washing it regularly. And trying to treat it myself. I see in some areas where it’s trying to come back but it’s slow.

I keep the bottle because it reminds of the days of old when I had so much, I used to spritz my hair every morning on my way to work because I foolishly thought it would last for ever. You don't know what you've got until it's gone, as one of my favorite bands (Chicago) sang. Can you at least lie to me and say there will be more by the end of the month because you have a restock coming? I'm okay with being lied to about something like this. PLEASE! 😭
I have super healthy hair and I chop it all the time. I like a blunt short bob and I have actually had so many people tell me I shouldn’t . Including a hairdresser that actually argued with me 🙄 - my current hairdresser gets excited to give me the cut I am asking for ❤

Happy sunday, I was wondering if there's a reason why some people's hair tends to get thin at the ends as the hair grows longer even if their hair is healthy and they get trims? Also, is there anything that can be done to prevent that? I appreciate your knowledge and I enjoy your videos!
