    I love your practical comparisons. It never occurred to me to test power consumption between the 12V oven and an air fryer. Nicely done and very, very interesting results. Thanks.

    Thanks Dino, great comparison Buddy, for me it's the air fryer all the way, because in 12mins or whatever it was you're eating, AND the batteries have already started recharging from the sun so you have more power stored quicker for night time. Excellent mate. Seeya Rob..................air fryers are great to cook those little party pies too, 200degs 15mins PERFECT !

      Cheers rob. Yeah the food tastes better with the air fryer as well , gives it a bit of a crunch. I forgot to mention the air fried calamari rings tasted better. Hope all is well mate 👍🍻

    Good test. The air fryer is the go for sure. Only bonus with the 12v oven is you can suck down several tins while your waiting for it to cook.🍺

    With a lithium and inverter setup the air fryer is a good setup. If you have the space throw a microwave in too, i wanted to do that but just dont have the space in a wagon. frozen pies go for 3 minutes in the microwave, 2 minutes in the air frier and you're golden.
    i think inverters are worth their weight in gold as you can just use existing 240v appliances rather than getting a bunch of sub par 12v gear. I originally bought an inverter because makita rapid chargers can be had for cheap ($50) . But if i was to get a 12v charger they're $180, slow and never be seen second hand. Sometimes i even throw in the projector, rice cooker or even flood lights when hosting camp trips for a larger group of less equipped people and its payed for itself very easily. An air fryer can be had for $50 or free if youve already got one at home like most people would. Whilst a travel oven are $125+25 for the cheaper ridge ryder/ kings oven + step up converter.
    Would have been nice to see how a 15v step up converter would compare in this test, lock your hubs saved ~20% in ah if i recall corectly and the thing actually gets up to 200c and switches on and off. also took like 30 mins cooking time off the frozen meat pie.
    With all of that said i did however end up purchasing a travel oven because it came up for a good price. it just seems as if its more versatile and can cook for more people when doing stuff like roasts, lasagne/pasta bakes even warming up frozen meals if you're feeling lazy. Could fit 8 pies into one if so inclined just will take a while. It would be nice if someone came to the market with some proper innovation, not this badge engineering bullshit we have been seeing. maybe a higher power or additional top heating element, fan force, slightly bigger internals so you can fit a standard baking pan or bain marie in it.
    Is that a square baking pan from woolies?
    Thanks for the vid mate, good comparison.

      Thanks for sharing your setup! It sounds like you've got a really efficient and versatile system going on. It's great to hear how you've found ways to make the most of your space and equipment, especially with the air fryer and microwave combo. Yes it’s a square pan from Woolies . Thanks for watching 👍🍻

    Good video, As an aside theres a 24 volt airfryer selling at coles bestbuys ,, it has 380watt heating element , so might be worth a go, its only has a small bucket area, but for $59 .95, hard to pass up a bargain !.

    What kind of specs needed to run an air fryer

    • @EFFICIENTSELF
      @EFFICIENTSELF  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      G’day . You will need 2 batteries capable of discharging 100 amps each and a 2000 watt inverter as a minimum. Also you need a means of recharging the batteries either solar or dc charger or both . Thanks for watching 👍🍻

      @petcuyvers 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@EFFICIENTSELF Thanks Dino, was also curious. Do you think it comes close to maxing out the 2000W inverter at max power?

    • @EFFICIENTSELF
      @EFFICIENTSELF  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You should be fine running air fryer with a 2000 watt inverter as my other air fryer it’s a ninja dual drawers and it consumes 1700 watts . Just be sure your batteries can put out at least a continuous 150 amp output. Thanks for watching 👍🍻

    Maybe try cooking them just on the wire racks to allow better convection around the rings when cooking in the travel oven.
    Another test I’ve been thinking about is cooking pizza in the my travel buddy upside down to get a better finish on top, I alway get way to crispy base and soggy toppings.
