You can use a couple of canning lids (mason jar screw-on sections) to keep the bottom of the pan off the direct heat. And as with any oven, pre-heating is important. Knowing that this type of oven has limitations, avoid opening the lid too often to check progress, as the heat is lost and it will take a few more minutes to regain heat enough to continue cooking. Of course, trial and error makes the next time easier! Thanks for being our guinea pig!

Adding some chili beans after it backed would be awesome too! As the heating coils are on the bottom and things will tend to get too browned/burned just using something to elevate your baking pan will prevent that. 2 wide mouth or 3 regular canning rings are popular to use but even balling up some foil to get a gap between heated bottom and baking pan will work also.

You know what never dawned on me to ball up foil and put on the bottom between the pan that probably would have turned out a lot better The cornbread was pretty burnt. Thanks for the helpful advice 👍

If you would have put foil on top after the cornbread firmed up and flipped it after a half hour or so it wouldn’t have burnt on bottom. Nice video

Much like a turkey every time you open the door you set it back 10%. If you raise things up from the bottom, toss in a cup of boiling water and add 50-75% time you can cook anything in these things. Just keep the door closed

Lift the foil pan up by placing foil balls or even rocks or bricks. That way the bottom doesn't burn. 👍

Good idea. I have been using this cooker for a good 6 years now. Bought 3 of them. Adding a little bit of water to the bottom of the cooker, beneath the pan, helps steam the inside and heat things more evenly. I can always tell when my food is getting hot because I can see a little stream of steam shooting out the side of it.

amzing, I have the 500 , see I only need this for like warming up old pizza leftovers in my rv or what not .. or like grilled cheese melts ,, they need to invent something that's stronger? Or is it the jack 240 thats the problem? stronger generator? or stronger device?

I’d like to try starting the carnivore diet on the road. Can you cook a steak 🥩 from raw. I’m Still in awe that the jackery 240 can handle the road pro.

I baked a raw pork loin while we were traveling and it came out perfect. The loin did have some fat on the side so that browned the bottom beautifully.

No, no water, put a little cornbread mix under hot dogs and not use all the mix. Brown is good, that's where the flavor is at
