The bigger plot hole was why he couldn't see Chloe. If we buy the closed time loop forcing Lucifer to not meet Rory, it made zero sense why he couldn't pop back to Earth every once in a while to see Chloe.
If you remember Rory said he never came to see Chloe at all. Rory made Lucifer promise to do that and Lucifer never lies in this series. So he had to keep his promise.
It seems that he didn't visit them because he would be dead, he had been murdered and Aurora coming back in time saved him at that fight. So he couldn't see them to keep the time line intact!
Well, first hell was not hell anymore - it was sort of a purgatory. Second, there is an expression that says: I´d go to hell and back for you --- when you really love and care for someone. So, that´s what the Detective did...
I didn't like the ending at all. I expected it to be different, then it was. They can always bring Lucifer back up to earth. And Chole. And Maze and Eve come back from their honeymoon. And put Trixie back in the show.
@brendaclark5185 why mess up something that was a great success. I miss not seeing more I have watched that show at least 10 times or more. I would like more. ♥️♥️
I think there should be a movie series or TV series based on the Arc Angels Amenadiel and his son Charlie at the end of season 6 I believe Charlie got his wings.
I didn't like the ending at all... so I don't mind if they would make a mini series. Everything was good until Lucifer decided to left Chloe with their child. Didn't made sense for me at all.
I'm afraid for a miniseries, because I may not have the streaming service that is on. The movie is like that like Tom says a good writing script is a must. I'm going to be excited if this gift from Lucifer would be hellish.
I'm squarely in the camp of those who hated the ending, for all of the reasons everyone has already detailed so well online. My emotional reaction to it is so strong, so visceral, that I cannot even watch most of season 6. So, yes, I would absolutely love having a miniseries or a movie or SOMETHING. But only if it addresses these issues. If it's just a storyline that has nothing to do with the ending or what happens with them following the last scene we saw, I don't think I could take it. Too, too painful.
The thing is - it was all about saving Rory - the next generation. It had to happen like that for her evil side to come out full-on. Lucifer could not have a happy ending as he was the devil - sure he changed, but he did pretty bad things in the past - a beautiful perfect happy ending with a family laughing at a dinner table would not fit the storyline at all. It had to have the drama it had...

I never got the discontent with the ending. I think it was as perfect as it could get. I would advocate for a spin-off centered around Lucifer treating all the villains he sent to hell in the original show, including flashbacks to expand on their background stories that would allow for the appearance of all characters without creating any plot holes. And on a side line, they could show how Amenadiel fares as God and the divine children grow up.
We all want it to come back, but the producers might not want to touch it... I thought they would show Lucifer at his new job, but visiting Rory as she grew up in her dreams, so he never left her, but would show up in some points of her life as a dream. He would also come to see Chloe regularly, but kind of off the record. Everybody complained about Trixie not appearing in the final episode, so that could also be an angle to explore as well as her relationship with Rory. It would be awesome to see some cases being resolved by Lucifer and Chloe down there, just like they did with that music producer - such a sad story of being abandoned by his mother and spending hell inside a cartoon... so sad... but they solved the case and Lucifer helped him but bringing his mom back - so, it could also be something like that, although it wouldn´t have the power of the cases on earth. Another thing that they could do and it was kind of implied in the final episode is that Amanadiel turned Chloe into an angel, so she can go back and forth as she pleases - including heaven and earth. So...
A background on Lucifer's absence from Rory and his relationship with his brother Amandiel does sound like a good plot. I will watch it. Because I love the Netflix series.
He can always travel back in time to spend time with Rory from the time he originally left that way he didn’t completely abandon them or when Chloe died and came to hell they could both return to be with Rory
Honestly, the only thing I would want to see more out of this series - as a firm believer that season 5 was mid and that season 6 was shite - is the backstory of Lucifer's fall, the heavenly family and his first years in hell. Season 4 had a perfect bittersweet ending for the series in my personal opinion but there were still interesting plot points adressed in season 5. But then the season ended on a cliffhanger so season 6 could happen and season 6 made a mistake many sequels of classics usually did: they introduced a kid of the main character/main couple and revolved the plot around this new, so-far-completely-insignificant character. Introducing kids willy nilly usually ruins the main character and that nearly happened with Lucifer, too, as was mentioned here with the child abandonment that Lucifer would usually be totally against but somehow let it happen to his own kid despite all his experiences. I would not want any mini series or movie sequel to Lucifer to involve Rory. Instead, I'd rather we get a glimpse of who Lucifer used to be in Heaven, what circumstances drove him to fall; you know, the things always hinted at and mentioned throughout the series but things we never saw. It would give the angels besides Amenediel some personality and likeability and make the war between Michael and Lucifer more impactful if we saw them getting along as a family once. We could see Goddess changing, we could see God spending less and less time with his family and how that affected the angels. A backstory done not dissimilar to how Good Omens does it would be a wonderful mini series. If it were to be a movie, just Lucifer returning to Earth and having to go through the paces of a police consultant again but without his beloved Detective would be an interesting plot. Like if he was summoned or something and in order to return to hell, he has to help solve a case, making new friends and having a solo adventure while on the other side Chloe is trying to figure out what happened to him, too. Idk if there would be much else that could be done with Lucifer without ruining its legacy. Sequels can be either a huge hit or a huge miss, so let's hope they make some good calls
I'd LOVE to see a mini-series of this... A movie would likely only leave me wanting more and feeling disappointed... As to the issue of abandoning Cloe and his daughter, it made perfect sense given a little thought... He realized that changing anything about her story would change who she was, and they did fix their relationship in the end before she went back... I think the new one should revolve around Trixie mostly and helping her... And include Amenadiel's son as well... But I agree with Tom, it has to be done right and stay true to as much as possible... So I'm not holding my breath for it to happen at all... 🤔😉😀
yes, what the finale made it clear was that it was about saving Rory´s soul, not saving Lucifer. For Lucifer it was about showing the way for a new call, but Rory was on the wrong path to become evil, so only a major series intervention - like it was - could do the job. Maybe it had nothing to do with Lucifer not being there while she was growing up - a lot of kids get that anger inside them with both parents around, everybody loving them etc. so...
Honestly I thought the series started to go downhill with the fifth season and I really didn’t like the sixth. The whole needing to be God just didn’t sit right with me. I absolutely love the first four seasons. A Michael redemption arc with him and Lucifer would be nice.
Yes, I agree - season 4 was a masterpiece, season 5 started to go down, especially with that black and white episode (episode 4) that everybody hated it, and season 6 - the time travel is kind of controversial, oh well... but I liked the finale... much better than what we usually get for the finale of other series, like - by a lot!

I don't care as movie or as mini series but the story did NOT wrap up nicely... sure they got together in the end but it makes NO sense for him to leave Chloe... so I hope that maybe they use the time travel to fix it... Lucifer could have stayed with his family until Chloe died and then fix hell... it would fix Rorys anger and abandonment issues as well as their individual suffering by being separated soulmates (as Maze mentioned so nicely)...
The problem is they boxed themselves in as far as a plot. Once Rory said she grew up alone after Lucifer left, that doesn't leave much room for Lucifer to come back as Chloey was pregnant when he left. Bringing him back risks undoing the storyline that they've established.
Id say the was more based on the concept of the comic then the actual comic… curious if Netflix would go with a revival of this or do an actual adaptation of the comic with the sandman series
Sadly on cable it stops at the end of the season where luci fights kane after chloe gets shot , I think thats either season 4 or 5. And it goes back to season 1 and repeats them. On channel TNT.
I would prefer a prequel season that absolutely has no clashes with the show. For example, someone that lucifer knows and grew to care for gets sent to hell. Like carol, feling guilty about his time undercover or similar. (as far as I know carol was never really let into the know) He shows up and recogises lucifer and he tells carol about his time in heaven, the rebellion, how he landed in hell, the true first emergence of his devil face, his command as the lord of hell, and then his vacation with maise. Perfectly tieing into the pilot episode. Exploring those feelings would be super stong. Basicallly a whole mini series (MAX 12 episodes) dedicated squarely to the past and how we got to the start. Because I feel like season 6 wrapped everything perfectly in a bow. People get bend out of shape by the time travel ending but it was still great and to me makes sense.
We really don't need more Lucifer, it was a great show and doing more will not make it better, and nothing on IMDB about this, so probably not happening.
His wife shall be resting as an eternal pregnant women... and him fixing the world and having fun on his series... as him being the main character (but his wife is home relax..) lol 😂 😂
If they don’t do a season 7. They could use Tom in the sandman series . I think it would make a great addition to the show. And they wouldn’t mess with the Lucifer series ending.
If a mini series it would be cool if Constantine meet lucifer in hell and he has to help Constantine through his guilt on what he did to the legends and then help constintine go after earth bound evil demons to send back to hell
Yeah I never understood the whole point of nobody telling her of her father and why he had to leave I mean seriously it's just it didn't make sense I mean he didn't even leave her a letter that doesn't make sense it doesn't come off with the kind of person that Lucifer had developed up to that point and it just does not make sense it doesn't compute and it doesn't make sense either that she causes all this mayhem including the deaths of people and she doesn't get any punishment for that? The only way it makes sense is if all of that happened and we find out at the very end that his daughter in fact is in her own hellscape because of the fact that she attempted to do what she had planned and it went terribly terribly wrong for her and that's why she ended up in Lucifer's jurisdiction. Lucifer wants to rectify that and the only way he can is to go back and for her to go back with him and basically help Chloe nurture their daughter...
Not sure how he thinks that was a good ending. It left far to much open. It need to be finished properly. Nothing like miranda. I guess he made his money now though rite
No need for anything. Lucifer is God now in the show. He can do, have, create or destroy anything he wishes. Hard to go up from there. Let the show go. Let the legacy with all of its flaws remain. :)
"Not bringing the show back for financial gain"? So Ellis would lead by good example and do it for free? After all, it would be hypocritical if he didn't abide by his own wishes.
I absolutly didn't like the ending ! Where poor Trixie is old news and not even seen at her moms bedside as she dies... Also the romance part okay but... Chloe abandonned evryone else in going in hell with Lucifer. Her dad, possibly her mom, trixie... that didn't sit right with me. Love is a lot of things. Not just that...
I cant with this mess The series ended on the six season Smh it is evil period But I won't ruin everyone else's nostalgic view with this crap Not to metion it goes against everything God has written on how Things were, are, and going to be in the end Fantasy in my opinion is destroying folks moral and realistic comps out here and it's all by design courtesy of the real devil's influence in our existence 😢
Rory isn’t Canon. Just something created by Netflix randomly. Lucy and Chloe get married but they don’t have children. Chloe becomes immortal and gains powers when she marries him but she doesn’t have a kid with Lucy.
@narutouzu9197 - I can't say. I haven't watched Disney in years but I heard it's bad. (And shareholders are getting pummeled as a result.) Yeah, Eve. ANOTHER Obligatory Lesbian character. 🙄 🙄
There should have been more love scenes and sex scenes with Chloe and Lucifer too besides just a little bit and the directors and producers were in the wrong making Chloe ugly through the whole series when they could have made her beautiful like Chicago Fire with platinum blonde hair and not brown hair and with her hair down more and dressing beautiful clothing besides ugly clothing they could have made her a lot beautiful like the rest of the women on Lucifer instead of ugly through the whole series and her hair down more platinum blonde without the bangs and her hair long with platinum blonde hair she did not look right with brown hair she looked better with blonde with platinum blonde hair but the directors and producers were in the wrong making her ugly through the whole series and not making her beautiful when she needs makeup on like the rest of the women they did Chloe Decker character wrong I did not like the directors and producers the way they did Lauren German's character through the whole series they made her ugly and not beautiful like the rest of the women when she needed the makeup what was so wrong with Chloe Decker wearing makeup like the rest of the women on Lucifer when they had makeup too and they was women just like she was was Chloe found out about the other women Lucifer slept with see if she'd want to be with him then two🤔🤨🙄😤😡😠🤬

Is it really a plot hole? In a celestial time scale the 40 or so years that she'd spend on earth wouldn't even register for him
For him 40 years was just 1 m. So he knew wen the time was right, Chloe and Rory would come to bee with him.
If he left he would be abandoning his patients for thousands of years for each little visit.
I did like how Chloe’s heaven was going to hell to be with Lucifer. A perfect love story

Lucifer wants to rectify that and the only way he can is to go back and for her to go back with him and basically help Chloe nurture their daughter...
why? it had a suitible ending
You kind of made a mistake when you said amenadel you did not get his name correct
Not sure how he thinks that was a good ending. It left far to much open. It need to be finished properly. Nothing like miranda. I guess he made his money now though rite
it was better than many series that go on FAAR too long with nothing happening
The show named a baby angel Charlie and then made his dad God...This just screams a spin off...
No need for anything. Lucifer is God now in the show. He can do, have, create or destroy anything he wishes. Hard to go up from there. Let the show go. Let the legacy with all of its flaws remain. :)
But his not he gave that up
"Not bringing the show back for financial gain"? So Ellis would lead by good example and do it for free? After all, it would be hypocritical if he didn't abide by his own wishes.
I thought the ending sucked because they made him a therapist in hell the very place he didn’t want to be in anymore
I cant with this mess
The series ended on the six season
Smh it is evil period
But I won't ruin everyone else's nostalgic view with this crap
Not to metion it goes against everything God has written on how
Things were, are, and going to be in the end
Fantasy in my opinion is destroying folks moral and realistic comps out here and it's all by design courtesy of the real devil's influence in our existence 😢
a movie wont happen...
Yeah, the Rory character was a DEI hire at best. 🙄
Rory isn’t Canon. Just something created by Netflix randomly. Lucy and Chloe get married but they don’t have children. Chloe becomes immortal and gains powers when she marries him but she doesn’t have a kid with Lucy.
@narutouzu9197 - Netflix has a bad habit of shoving in an Obligatory Lesbian character. Soon after, the show always fails.
@@brendaclark5185 yeah not as bad as Disney though. Maze never got married and was in love with Lucifer. Eve isn’t even in the series.
Another racist. Wondering how long it was going to take. Enjoy Trump losing the election.
@narutouzu9197 - I can't say. I haven't watched Disney in years but I heard it's bad. (And shareholders are getting pummeled as a result.) Yeah, Eve. ANOTHER Obligatory Lesbian character. 🙄 🙄
And it should have been Lucifer and Chloe's wedding not Maze and Eves wedding the storyline was about Lucifer and Chloe in the first place🤔🤨🙄😤😡😠🤬
