A big mistake a lot of bass players do is try to sound as low as possible. Nobody can hear it. Bass guitar sounds so much better when it fills the mids that the guitars have scooped.
@@jarredhooperbass is for the feel. Live you can feel the bass + hear it. Bc of frequency it’s hard to hear with headphones. Given the right sound system you’ll hear it. If you have a trained ear you can hear the bass in the mix normally. But yes I agree bc most cant identify the bass in a mix.
Mark used to play musicman stingrays then moved to Fender precisions around recording Enema of the state, producer Jerry Finn preferred the tone of the fender bass and how it sits in the mix.

I saw them at the warped tour the year before and they were on the second stage and they were one of the first bands performing because I remember hearing them as I was walking in. They exploded in popularity within a year. Significant because it shows just how big they got during this time
Every band, regardless of status, played short sets on Warped. Set times also varied each day, i.e., Blink might have played 2pm one day and 8pm the next.
