Great overview as always! I bought a 4 pack of their HTs for GMRS, also had tones already set (which is annoying). Otherwise, company seemed easy to work with.
Great review and I'm liking what I see, but so far I'm not able to find the fccid for this radio in the fcc database. I have the fccid as 2A3OORA87, is this correct with what you have?
What kind of antenna we looking at to maximize the 40 watts? I’m thinking about getting this I got my GMSR license and use this for base station. I have the new 5 watt Rocky talkie and 2 bofang hand helps.
The one i am using isnt the best, but its decent for outdoor use and getting into a few of the local repeaters, when it comes to antennas I spend big bucks on the ham stuff but i am kind of cheapo with gmrs antennas lol. Its this one amzn.to/3viFymE
@@Iridium242 thanks for the info brother. I have a metal roof will that interfere with the antenna if I mount it on an Eve on the roof? I live in Maine so weather plays a big factor in everything I do. Love your channel a lot of awesome useful information. I have a propane generator for the house and several Jackery and bluettis and solar panels lol. You can see and feel what is coming so be prepared
I agree with you the factory should not put pl tones into the radio. they should leave it turned off.
