2:33 funny you mention Sega and Jaleco's relationship since some of Jaleco's early sprite scalers were made by former Sega employees, particularly the team that made Space Harrier
Ouchh this one deffo needs a CRT filter, it looks really weird in LCD. Thanks for introducing this title as I have never heard of it before and it looks fun
@@VideoGameEsoterica In short 1 day and half. There was a time I used to use the airplane, but since it becomes so expensive, traveling BUS was the only solution.
Jaleco was a good company that really had potential to to be a big company if they wanted to when competing against Sega or Namco. But glad they stayed their route and made their game on what they felt was perfect for us to enjoy VGE. 8^) Anthony...
After playing this in the arcade I imported the Sega Saturn version and it was just average. I got Joy out of it but it was nothing visually close to the arcade.
Just gave this one a try on my emulator today and you certainly weren't wrong, it really is quite satisfying once you get the hang of it! If you don't mind me asking, what is the song you use for these Sega Model intros? Or maybe what game it's from?
Looks quite polished for a Jaleco game. No hate, I love stuff like Game Paradise and generally like Jaleco games, but a lot of their output is usually B tier at best.
Model 2 and racing games were a match made in Sega blue blue skies.
Sega blue extended to every dev on Model 2
Pretty smooth and impressive for the time
Yeah it looks and runs great
I played this just few weeks ago! Pretty good, but not enough tracks. Reverse -versions of tracks has disturbing turns hard to learn.
It could def benefit from maybe 2 more tracks
Never heard of it, looks beautiful.
Def play it!

Enjoy it. Def worth playing
Everyone calls them Gran Turismo clones, but Super GT was the first "GT" on the scene.
The real OG.
Haha very true
I think there is a Sega Saturn version of this... or at least loosely based on this.
There is. Not too great of a port
I only saw this arcade game back in the '90s in Spain at a bar when I was traveling to France on BUS.
On bus? That must have been a long ride
@@VideoGameEsoterica We can say is those traveling BUS from from Portugal to France. It takes at least 30 hours maximum.
Wooooow. That’s a Haul
@@VideoGameEsoterica In short 1 day and half. There was a time I used to use the airplane, but since it becomes so expensive, traveling BUS was the only solution.
Nothing is cheap any more that’s for sure

Anthony...
They could get 95% close to what Sega or Namco could do
I feel like Jaleco and Data East had the most potential to become arcade giants like Sega, Namco, Konami, etc..
@megalo50 and yet both never got the love they deserved
Great vid
Thanks!

Yeah nothing beats Model 2
Good stuff. Getting bored with modern racing game trying too much to be a simulation. I need to play this. Which emulator did you used?
Model 2 emulator
@@VideoGameEsoterica nice one cheers. Will be setting that up tonight.
Enjoy it!
seag are BEST when make arcade Games

Each intro is from the game you are watching :)
@@VideoGameEsoterica Gotta track down the OST, appreciate the reply man!
No problem :)
This one he is using " *Dead or Alive - DOA Overture (Opening)* "
@@alexsayskmk Thank you! That's exactly what I was looking for.
Another little gem.
Deep cut classic indeed
Great channel discovered this via retro racing lunatics. Do U have a wheel?
Great channel here
Haha well by your username of course you’d like this
What wheel do U use?
G920
I was just asked to restore one of this model 2 super gt 24h deluxe whit a big projection screen
Ooh nice. I do love the projector setups. I’m sure they are harder to maintain though
you wrote Jaelco's, lol
I like games like this. The tyre screeching sound is annoying af though
The screeching is a bit high for the overall balance for sure
This looks nice
Tons of fun. Def play it
Is the Saturn port any good?
Not really sadly
How does it falter? Visuals or gameplay?
@timhouston8007 just too much for Saturn honestly
More so than Daytona or Sega Rally?
More so yes. Daytona and Rally were better
Looks quite polished for a Jaleco game. No hate, I love stuff like Game Paradise and generally like Jaleco games, but a lot of their output is usually B tier at best.
They were normally B tier but when they went for it they could get to that A tier status
@@VideoGameEsoterica Yeah this definitely looks top tier. They were defo capable of doing so.
Nice Video ! Sub & Big Like ! And Love Retro Racing Games !
Glad you enjoyed :)
This should have got ported to Dreamcast or PS2, the Saturn port was not very good IMO.
At least it got a port which is always better than not :)
@@VideoGameEsotericaas someone who bought it full price BITD I'd say I'd rather them not have 🤷♂️✌️😂
Haha
FIRST!
And only so far
