its amazing to see the difference how much more basic on the piping and some of the internals is of the 156bhp engine is over the 200bhp, luckily there was an uprated chain and tensioner released to stop the issues
@@johnrexg1834 there was an uprated timing chain i think for all petrol varients mine being the 200bhp one had it done. but mine is different on the cam gears it has 2 vvti controllers one on each cam compared to the 156bhp engine which has 1 cam controller
@@johnrexg1834 other thing i had wear out which sounded like the timing chain was the water pump pulley they are known to fail which mine did and rattled like the death rattle.
Hi. I have a knocking sound after chain replaced. On any gear when i touch just a little the gas pedal , on constant speed. It disapear whe the foot is down but is back when i just touch the gass pedal about 1 centimeter. It wasn't there before the service. I don't know what to do. No error codes
I’m an RCZ owner . Yesterday a friend of my wife’s visited, with her husband. He has a low mileage Lotus Elise as his fun car . Sadly they arrived in his daily driver , a 2012 petrol Skoda Yeti , a 1.4 I think he said , owned by him since new . At 45k miles / 3 years something went wrong and valves hit cylinders . I should have asked if it’s a chain or belt . Anyway , a new engine was installed by Skoda for free bar the cost of labour. So it’s not just Mini/RCZ engines that have similar issues . Pushrod engines anybody .
shaneweightman it’s very hard to do when I’m filming on my own. That’s why I try and explain the best I can with what to do. If I’m honest. There isn’t really much to take off
@@jakehandy8836 what is/was the issue with the Chain, friend has an rcz and has an intermittent click/clunk and her mechanic can’t find the problem. Done 58k miles I think.

Can you tell me what tools to used?
You need the timing tool kit specific to your engine
@jakehandy8836 for you have information about for this tools .type or name.thank you
Hi what do you mean reset adaptions? many thanks
Via a diagnostic computer
How much would you charge to do it ?
Be looking around 4.5 hours labour plus parts
Where you based at mate I’ve got a citron ds3 1.6 thp with timing rattle
Im based in Maidenhead, Berkshire
How do you know if the timing is out?
The car will run rough. But mostly you will get a cam crank correlation code
Did you say it’s the same engine that is in the mini?
Indeed
