With modern technology, whats the benefit of hitting driver? Modern 3-woods can fly almost as far as drivers these days but with the help of loft and spin it also helps you keep the golf ball in play. I put this to the test today and only hit my 3-wood off of the tee.

Great video! Hitting only 3 wood off the tee can make sense. I actually broke 80 for the first time (a loooong time ago) using only a 3 wood. Keeping it in play and avoiding penalty shots is the key. Personally my score goes up when i dont use my driver, could be that i have a dented face m1 with a shaft thats too whippy, hit it 5 times today, didnt hit 1 good shot with, my driver saves me, golf is about whatever works for you
