Definitely makes sense the way you’re doing it. We moved up here with two does that were almost due and now have bottle babies in the house. (Goats) I have another bred doe that will be due mid April. Definitely think for us we will be shooting for late spring babies up here versus fall/winter babies when we were in the south.

We kid in October and love it (boer goats) but we can’t get all our ewes to take for fall lambing. I do have one in the house too but that’s only bc her mom had a milk supply issue and her brother was a piggy

There's something in our water. We have sheep that drop 5 at a time! We just had another 4 drop today one set of triplets (all doing good) a new ewe had two (one a still birth) had one a week ago she dropped 4 (two still births and and two alive but one didn't make it). 3 weeks ago We had a set of twins. We try to leave the mom with the babies until she gets them licked off then bring them in the garage to dry off and warm up. within the hour we start taking them out to feed off mom. then every couple hours we do it again and again and again until it warms up outside. BY then they are healthy enough to cuddle with mom at night. We are basically married to these little farts for the next week or so lol

We have thirty ewes (20 bred, 10 yearlings will breed next year) plus a couple rams and all the babies right now.
