The Trans NH Adventure Trail is a 500 mi. overland adventure through the heart of New Hampshire. The trail package can be purchased here: exploringnh.co...
I know me too I work a lot as a crane technician so I don’t get a chance to go out much but planning a trip here this spring and summer just built my black 1999XJ so far is a 3 inch lift and 32s but going to do a long arm kit in 33’s soon. Do you guys know in your ex Jay’s roughly on stock gearing? What mpg you guys get on a trip ? I feel like I have something wrong with my jeep. I did new plugs and everything valve cover gasket rear main seal cap and rotor. No check engine light but I barely get 230 miles per tank and that’s even highway traveling.
We cant tell you the secret of the stacked boulders. You have to move to nh and be here for 10 years before the knowledge is conveyed. Great video bud.
Love your videos. I have a 1999 Limited that I brought back from the grave with essentially every component being rebuilt piece by piece in what I could only describe as a labor of love. It roams Western Canada as a work / camping vehicle.
the stacked rocks are cairns, and theyre markers for the winter when theres snow everywhere. theyre usually warnings for cliffs or trail markers so you dont get lost
very different video today it was quite interesting to see it nice little change to see once in a while would love to see more blacksmithing videos keep up the great craftsmanship and work forge on my friend nice to see
Cool jeep. I have Rubicon Express drop brackets on mine. I carry a pipe wrench for those big lock nuts. Works on track bar too. Nice rig. Looking forward to your walkaround.
Great job man.! I live in north east Vermont..and did not know that this trail existed!! I too have an xj and look forward to taking a similar path!! I did subscribe and looking forward to more of your videos! Good luck with your TH-cam channel..!!!
35:52 - looks like a fantastic camping spot. Would there be any problems with getting a trailer in there? I'm considering an Ember 170MRB, 171FB, or 191MSL.
The TNHX is NOT a good ride for full size trailers. I would discourage anyone from trying to pull anything larger than a teardrop or anything larger than 2000lbs. A 4200lb(dry) trailer simply has no business on rocky and muddy trails.
I didn't see one thing I haven't done in my 3 stock xj's, In fact, much worse (better) trails. I've had dirt bikers stop me and ask how the hell did you get up here? Not once did I break anything. Just sayin
Sweet looking XJ. What roof rack is that????? I have never done the TNH run, even though my best friend usually is the one that leads the group run twice a year for the past couple of years.
Great video. What would think of someone driving this trail with a 2 wheel drive Cherokee. Yes or crazy idea? It's raised up 2", 33" wheels and a winch installed.
Hey Barque Forge, thanks for the great video. It was fun to watch it from a different perspective. Thank You for the feedback. We are always tweaking the route and based on your feedback we will make a few more adjustments. I would love it if you could reach out to me VIA email so I can get you and Joe both a Trans NH Expedition T-Shirt and stickers as a thank you for putting together a great video and for providing us with some constructive criticisms. Thank You and I look forward to following more of your adventures. -FSHJNKY
Good to see another channel feature a Jeep Cherokee XJ overland build!

Great video bud.
Great coverage. A buddy and me are doing this route in a few weeks. This video is gold!

Blacksmithing vids coming soon!
Barque Forge 👍🏼👍🏼
Great trip summary and video! I had a long armed 2000 XJ back in the day, white too!
Man you make me miss my XJ. I have a 3rd gen Taco OR but I still miss my XJ. I live in NH too
Living here my whole life, with a camp in Colebrook and still had no idea this existed. Sweet vidoe man definitely checking this out this year!
Great video. Planning this trip with some buddies next summer. Thanks for describing it so well
Very nice headliner, looks like GTI interiors.
Thank you for this!
uff y love cherokee xj from uruguay 🇺🇾 south america
Love the XJ content, about to build an XJ overlander, I've got a ton of XJ repair videos
Cool jeep. I have Rubicon Express drop brackets on mine. I carry a pipe wrench for those big lock nuts. Works on track bar too. Nice rig. Looking forward to your walkaround.
Excellent video! Planning to take delivery of a Ford Bronco Badlands in June/July and will tackle this adventure.
That is awesome
You realize that is serious overkill for that trail.
Great job man.! I live in north east Vermont..and did not know that this trail existed!! I too have an xj and look forward to taking a similar path!! I did subscribe and looking forward to more of your videos! Good luck with your TH-cam channel..!!!
I have a cherokee xj and live in new hampshire it's cool to see people in nh
Love the XJ can't wait to get mine built and going!
That ranger was cool. If that mishap took place in Massachusetts and a ranger saw your jeep in a swamp they'd lock you up and throw away the key.
My family and I stayed at the first campground you guys were at in Pittsburg NH last August. It’s awesome up there.
Bro, your the coolest!
Moving to the northeast permanently someday in the next 2 years. Hope to try some of these extended trails in my also lifted 99 sport with 33s lol.
Awesome Man! You got a new fan from México
nice. that looks easy enough for my touareg.
is that rear tailgate purpose built for the jerry can and straps or did you DIY it?
Where did you guys camp after jackson falls?
This is on our list for next year. I can't say I've ever seen anyone hang their Brown Scapular from the rearview, though. LOL :)
Nice job... good info for us, we are about to try it in a few weeks...
Cool video, nice XJ.
Nice clean build bro, I have a white two door xj, and new sub!!
I’ve been at the second stop I took a couple photos but I don’t have them any more
Cool jeep dude
Was that the tunnel on the Merritt? Starting in ct?
I've got a lifted Forester, ~11 inches of clearance with offroad tires. Think it'd handle the trails well?
Hard to say I'm not familiar with Subarus at all
Like the Cleetus shirt!
Where can I access the trail in NH coming from MA?
I want to know more about that hidden winch setup!
U could've used ur grandma's suv for those roads.
Nice xj! What kind of dash camera do you have
Cheapo Amazon, wouldn't reccomend+
Obviously a landmark
What brand of jerry can is that?
Harbor freight! But I use rotopax now.
Would love some info on that hidden winch setup. So rad
Hey Corey, it's made by Boostwerks engineering. Unfortunately it doesn't look like they make it anymore
May have missed this info as I skimmed through the video, but where did you guys end up camping on this trip?
We stayed at ramblewood campground in Pittsburg, discreet camped one night, Crows Nest campground and Black bear campground the last night
what GPS app did you use for the GPX file they provided?
I use Gaia
Would you say a lifted subaru crosstrek would make it through this trail? I have a modified 4runner that i could pull it if we had to.
No I don't think so. It gets really rocky at some points with some decent inclines
Yes
Yes i don't think these guys wheel much. A mini van could do it
Pappy, from The counselent right?.... Weird..
I'm dead
Ever have any Subarus????
Where would you start this trail per say just to stay offroad?
The day 2 portion was the majority of the offroading
Hey, great rig and entertaining video.
By the way what is your comfortable highway speed with your current setup?
Right now my setup is much different, I will be making a new vid soon!
Did you say there is 500 miles of offroad trails?
The "trail" overall is about 500 miles but the offroading portion is much smaller
35:52 - looks like a fantastic camping spot. Would there be any problems with getting a trailer in there? I'm considering an Ember 170MRB, 171FB, or 191MSL.

I agree with you! It was not what i expected, at all
Sweet looking XJ. What roof rack is that????? I have never done the TNH run, even though my best friend usually is the one that leads the group run twice a year for the past couple of years.
Hey this is the warrior products platform rack
Great video. What would think of someone driving this trail with a 2 wheel drive Cherokee. Yes or crazy idea? It's raised up 2", 33" wheels and a winch installed.
I think you'll be ok
The day 3 trails are about 5 minutes from my house.
Try the Trans Wisconsin Adventure Trail aka the TWAT 😂
what jerry can do you have?
Harbor freight
Wow glad i live out west never seen so much pavement on a trail ride!👿
I have to agree with you. Was hoping for more trail but we take what we can get over here.
I agree!
Too much pavement not enough "trail"
what size lift and tires setup?
33x12.5 tires, 5.5in lift in the front 7.5 in the back
👍
Could I get the GPX for this? You went some interesting trails.
For the map file you need to purchase from the link in the description
Where is the gpx file.
You get it when you purchase the package
Re-gear your axles. Your transmission will thank you
Have since done it!
@@trailandco nice!!
