The most beautiful and the best elite heavy cavalry in the Republic of Poland. The hussars were formed in 1503 and disbanded in 1776. In 125 years, it did not lose any battle and was one of the most successful cavalry formations in military history around the world. More than once she fought with opponents 10 times more numerous. Hussars are Poland's national pride. I recommend Sabaton's uprising from Woodstock 2012, you'll love it. 😄
Fun fact: Tolkien based the Charge of Pelenor Fields off the Winged Hussars, because what could be more bad-ass that a division of heavily armored and armed cavalry charging at the enemy with reckless abandon?
The Winged Hussars where heavy shock calvary. Their arrival on the field basic routed the Ottoman forces whom did not expect to see 18,000 horsemen charging down the hill at them from the rear of their army. Supported by artillery and infantry from both their own batteries and the defenders who sullied out of their defense to attack the Ottomans.
ask a guy in your neighborhood who has roots or any connection to Poland about the Winged Hussars.... you will be astonished........they are a legend.....
When they say coming down the mountain side, they came storming down so fast they couldnt slow down and ran over the enemies on the battle field, the enemies thought they wouldnt back down, in fact they couldnt back down or slow down. Fun little fact, ruthless them polish army
Since no one has said it yet (i think) i’ll say it. Sabaton has a history channel called Sabaton History where they talk about the history background of the song which you should check out.
A tip is that you check out thier animated STORY videos. You learn a lot there. Great animated story videos are "No bullets fly" and "The night witches". The band is also great band live and the live performance of "En livstid i krig" from Gothenburg, make sure captions are on since they sing in Swedish. Another live performance that is a must see is "40:1" from Woodstock Poland 2013 but also "Uprising" and "Ghost Division" are great.
Nice reaction man, Sabaton are great. In case you didnt know they have a youtube channel called "Sabaton History" where they break down the historical aspect of their songs together with historians, awesome to watch and learn something new. :) My favourites besides this are Carolus Rex, Primo Victoria, Nightwitches and The Last Stand.

Republic?
COmmonwealth of Both Nations, not Republic or even Kingdom of Poland. Back then, our country was multicultural and multilingual.

Imagine the thunder of 18 000 horses charging with 3000 winged hussars in the lead
I bet the ground was shaking.
