Tim, I’m an Eaton Fire refugee. No notice. Took my best three guitars on a dead run. As of today, our home stands. Countless friends in Altadena and the Palisades have lost theirs. Big winds expected through Wednesday. At our hotel, I have been thanked by quite a few displaced and homeless for playing in the lobby. Guitar does have a healing power, even in the worst of times. Keep playing, everyone.

In 2000, a plane crashed into our house in Fullerton. We lost almost everything, including vintage Ampeg, Marshall amps, several guitars and our working band's whole PA. I was able to pull my 1996 20th anniversary Stingray, and 1984 G&L L2000, a 70s Marshall and a first gen Fender HM Strat out of the ashes. We moved on, realizing that stuff is just stuff. Sadly, the pilot lost his life and his family lost him. The stuff we saved meant nothing compared to the loss of the pilot. I'm so glad to hear you share the broader perspective. Mr. Pierce, God bless you and yours. I am a musician, and I have a lot of gear. I would be devastated to loose that. I have a lot of stuff. Hi Tim,
Thanks for the update and so glad to hear that you and your family are ok, in the big scheme of things…
Just wanted to echo the thoughts of so many others and wish you all the best from a fellow muso here in Oz
And again, as many others have also said, I admire and appreciate all that you’ve done and continue to do for the music community at large and all that you give and have given us over the years
Thoughts are with you🙏❤️
Peace and love brother and Kia Kaha (stay strong)
I'm happy for you and your family Tim. I'm relieved that nobody, in your family is hurt physically by this catastrophe. Lessons learned & life goes on. Please stay safe.
Mr Pierce,
We all deeply appreciate you, in what you offer, and how that has affected our lives, individually and collectively.
That aside, you sir are human first, and that makes you a class act, through and through.
Stay safe, good sir.
Tim, From the other side of the pond, all the best to you and your friends and loved ones. Horrible time for all of you. I (like many others I'm sure ) will be watching out for updates but what matters is you and your family are SAFE!
Hi Tim,sssoooo pleased to see you and hear you. You have been in my thoughts. It was inspiring to see you standing there and being so positive and philosophical amongst such a catastrophe. I’m going on the masterclass to reminisce. Best wishes,Chris Hutchison, perth,Australia.
Glad to see you and yours are safe! Appreciate your wisdom about gear vs. lives. Thank you for sharing the charity links. Stay safe and thank you for this thoughtful first--person report!
Really pleased to see this update from Tim!! I don’t know him, never met him (never even likely to meet him), but it genuinely feels like he’s a personal acquaintance after following his work for so many years so I’ve been keeping an eye out for news about him.
So sad to hear about the great Bob Clearmountain though. My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected.
Am so glad you and your home and studio have gotten through the fires safely and agree that we need to find ways to help those who have lost almost everything. Prayers to all the victims, and their families. At least music helps heal
