Thank you for letting us know you & Maureen & the pups are OK. The size of this is just too hard to comprehend. I'm glad you brought up the people who have lost everything (like having a new baby) that don't have the kind of money many celebrities have, or have no insurance. Thanks for mentioning the dogs! There are two different kind of dogs used, search & rescue, also cadaver dogs. They have different skills and are amazing! Remember, they have such a difficult job & can end up with depression like humans. Bless you for all you do. You have such a kind heart! Enjoy your time in the UK!

It's different when fire wipes the slate as opposed to water, many I expect won't return
I'm still on tree watch. I have a 60 year old tree that's about 70 ft tall in my front yard, and a big branch fell on the roof in the wind. Fortunately, there was no damage, but it's not the first time I've had a branch from that tree crack off and fall. I have arborists scheduled to look at it. I would hate to lose it - it's the only tree I still have. I had to cut down a palm tree years ago.
BUT. I would hate even more to lose that end of my house or to have someone walking by, or a car parked in front, destroyed by another falling branch.🤞

We had to take down a 35 foot tree near our house because of wind damage and 47 years of annual arborist care of all our trees. We had wonderful visitors including a Red Tail Hawk. Loosing a tree is as difficult as the loss of canine or feline.
I completely agree Lee. I’ve been worried about your home and pray it stays at bay. We have been well in Manhattan Beach but had a few false alarms. I’ve heard about the Rosebowl efforts and thought it was wonderful. Please stay safe on your end. I’m terribly sorry about your tree but it’s a wise move. Travel safe with Lyle. I've heard of a session player who got out with only his guitars, but the house and all of his home studio gear, gone. This is their livelihood. So tragic! So glad to hear you are ok.
Thanks so much for the update! We are so heartbroken at all the devastation. We have friends who lost their homes in Altadena including a recording studio. A close friend saved her house and helped her neighbors save their homes along with all the horses, dogs, etc...She lives right up against the canyon and they managed to fight off the inferno. Have a great tour and happy to hear you are doing well :)

So grateful that you, Maureen, the boys and your home are ok. 🙏🏼💞 I know exactly how you are feeling as we went through that in the Tubbs fire. 7 years later and people still are rebuilding and have PTSD, especially when our version of the Santa Ana’s (appropriately called the Diablo winds up here) blow. It’s going to be a long haul. I highly recommend gift cards to stores for anyone you know who lost their homes but you should buy them online for places like Target, etc. because of all of the gift card scamming going on these days, and have them emailed to the recipients. Most people should hopefully be able to redeem them from their phones. My friends who lost everything found them helpful when they realized they no longer had a hairbrush or underwear.
The scale and horror of what you guys are going through just boggles my mind. It is so good to hear your description of the heroism of the all involved in this absolute nightmare and I my thoughts and prayers of gratitude are with you and the family as you adjust to the results of this catastrophe. Much, much love and respect from South Africa.

Jan. 14th both my parents bdays. Pops passed in 2010 mom in 2019. Sorry to hear about all these fires and yes hope they catch the thieves how sad. Hopefully the year will be better. God bless bud.

Sending love from across town in Tarzana to you and the Firefighters and all to those evacuated and all those who have lost far too much... The Firefighters held the flames at the northern top of the Topanga Forest Park about 2mi from our home for two days non-stop. Cant believe the fire made its way all the way North nearly to Encino. We definitely feel the guilt even though were not quire through it yet and we keep telling ourselves that the recovery is going to be a marathon, not a sprint. We're going to have months of chances to go and volunteer and help our fellow Southern Californians, and we will.

I have been through a few Apt building fires. Myself and small children. I won’t even go into the rickety fire escape. It is just so difficult. Peace to you and all who went through this. ❤

I saw a short video where a fireman was interviewed and he looked beyond tired. But still he said. I gonna have a few hours of sleep and then I’m going back in. THATS bravery and perseverance.
I get many videos on my phone from those planes that drop water and fire retardants on those fires. That’s an awesome sight to see. All those emergency crews deserve a medal.

Leland, if it gets closer, mount a sprinkler on yer roof and leave it running. soak everything down. Kick ass man!
You don’t understand water systems, if you do that and have to evacuate and others do that it taxes the water system which reduces the hydrant system availability to fire resources
Lee - I had an 80-year old cedar tree in my front yard that I had to have removed a few years ago because of huge sections of it breaking off during high winds. An original section was still facing the house...a hard choice had to be made.
