Seeing Armin on his knee, putting in his bag a big stack of vinyls... Man oh man.. While on background playing Ferry Exhale... Feels like the 2000s back again and it feels soooo amazing.. LEGENDARY
I had a visceral reaction when Ferry played The Whiteroom. It's in my top 10 favorite tracks, and one that still gives me chills. I had to pull over in my car in a parking lot and just lose myself into that song, even got a few tears. Thank you both for what you do, and I appreciate it so deeply and dearly. When I met Ferry I turned to my photographer friend who was taking pictures and literally screamed before facing him haha. But.. So many amazing trance Dj's I met then and so many beautiful songs that touched my soul. Most of them elect reactions that give me chills or I just need a moment to pause and enjoy.

I have not met either but I'm sure I would have a very similar reaction, they are both DJ Gods/Icons in my eyes. There's several edits I noticed during their vinyl mix. It sounds like the first transition in the mix from Sweet Sorrow into the Whiteroom was completely redone after the fact. Notice the volume on the incoming track shoots up at 1:06:01 while Armin's hands aren't anywhere near the mixer. Also see 1:27:20 . Basic Dawn - Pure Thrust (NU NRG Remix) has a weird buildup and is tricky to mix. They edited out Armin's mixing and cut straight to the drop. Notice how it jumps from Ferry to Armin standing in front of the decks. Not knocking them, I just thought it was interesting 🙂. I guess that means these live streams are actually pre-recorded ?
Ferry's set is the first CD I bought when tramping around Europe in my 20s. I played the hell out of Eternity. I can remember being in a cafe and saying, "WHAT is this music??? This is awesome!" Someone knew it was a Tiesto mix and I picked it up from Virgin Records in Amst. Everyone in my Eastern Oregon town thought I was nuts when I came back with this weird, lyric-less music. Been hooked ever since.
Love to see you in top shape as always, Armin! Hope to attend one of your shows this year even though ot is hard considering the usual life struggles! Keep it up maestro!
