Awesome video. Love the intro of what the video is about. Also, the reference to some of your other videos related to the project. Nicely done. The irrigation system looks fantastic!!
😂 I have no doubt that if you follow this video, you will be able to successfully program your timer without the need of your landscaper assisting you. You Can Do It!👍
I would also like to see you create a night-watering schedule. I have a new sod that I want to water in the morning and in the evening after the heat of the day. I will see if I can figure it out, with what you have shown me for Program A.
What if you're replacing an older Orbit unit with a newer model? Do you have to turn off electricity to that area before installing the new unit or is it enough to unplug the old unit, then disconnect the wires for the stations, install the new unit and connect the station wires to it before plugging it in?
Great question! You should be fine doing the swap "hot".... meaning electricity is still flowing through the wires. The biggest thing that you need to do for this is to make sure that none of the wires touch each other during the swap out and that you do not plug the new unit in until you are finished landing the wires. You can wrap electrical tape around the ends of each wire to ensure that contact doesn't happen between wires. Otherwise, just flip the breaker to the power source and go for it without having to worry about wires touching. I hope that this information helps 👍.
Hi. I'm not sure if I understand your comment. This video shows a complete wiring of the Orbit valves along with wiring the timer and setting the timer. There is no pump / pump relay. This system is on city water and does not require a pump. I hope this information helps.👍
@@angelcanete2720 Hi. Can you explain what you mean? I’ve been using these timers for years and they always work exactly as I explained in the video 🤷♀️

Thank you for taking the time to make this video! Very helpful!
Really helpful video. I will give it a try...and have my landscape guy on standby when I mess up. Thanks again.

What does the black ‘pump’ mouth do? It works just as well when I plug in colored wires.
How can I hardwire it instead of plugging it into an outlet?
You can simply cut off the plug, strip the wires back and hardwire / wire nut the wires in a junction box with Romex.
@@YouCanDoIt2nice, woman power for real! Haha. Kidding. Awesome stuff both of you.
Put two common wires in the one common spot
the video does not show wiring for pump relay
