This is the most helpful video by far in explaining how to program multiple programs. However, I think it's moronic to keep having to scroll through programs A & B to get to C every time the dial is turned. If I'm programming B, it should stay in B. If I'm programming C, it should stay in C.
Finally, someone who explains the PROGRAM button for setting different zones. Don’t know if I’d call this “easy set logic” but thank you so much for doing this. (BTW, I had trouble finding this video for the normal search for “Orbit Timer” but I don’t know how this site sets their search logic.)
I bought my house with this exact sprinkler system. I was changing times and screwed everything up so I hit the reset button and for the life of me I couldn't figure out how to change the individual stations. Thank you so much for dumbing it down for me lol.
Thank you so much! I thought I was going to have to pay someone to do this for me but you broke it down so now I can change it myself. Now it is easy, thank you!!!!
This was the most helpful video on here. Thank you! I'm going to correct what I did wrong. I put multiple start times for each zone in the same program.
I just purchased the 4 station orbit model 57894. I have it programmed, however I did manually water my grass and now every day after the program runs the system kicks on manually for a cycle. How do I stop the “manual” watering cycle?
Excuse the ignorance , But I am not sure how many times I must replace or Repair my Irrigation , But now have this Model 57896 and from I am told it only has 3 Stations/Zones , what does that mean ? especially when you mention 6, then each time we add or repair our system , they keep adding onto Zone One , which doesnt help as its vegetables , palms , and Succulents , so my stuff gets ruined. Please suggest how to fix this problem
Hi. thank you for all the wonderful videos. My unit is on and the time, date, etc are all working. When I select to turn on the sprinklers manually, they do not come on and it does not start the program. Also, they are not coming on when they are supposed to. Do you have a video suggestion that will help? Nothing is coming on. Please adivse. thank you.
I have a weird problem. I have 5 stations at my house. When I turn the knob to Run Time and then press the arrow to station 5, it always goes back to station 1. Like station 5 is not even there. But I am able to manually turn on station 5 for watering. Any ideas?
Thanks for the info. I need to run one station 7 times for like 5 minutes each time, starting at 8am, 10am, 12pm, 2pm, 4 pm, 6 pm, 8pm. Am planning for this station to produce 25ACV which in turn closes a 25VAC relay switch which short circuits the 120V hot wire to power on a 1/2hp submersible water pump, the orbit I have has 4 start times, program A and B. Thanks.
I NEED HELP! I have a problem where I set program A, station one to 8 minutes, when it's start time it only runs for 3 minutes. I have to set it to 20 minutes for it to actually run 8 minutes.
Slightly confused. I have one program which is program a with two different zones both set for 30 minute run time twice a day. Does this mean both zones should turn on at the same exact time. It doesn’t seems that my zone 2 is coming on?
I have 5 stations. Can I run them all at the same time? Or do I have to run them separately If so ,can I just set one start time for all stations? Thanks!
Hello, irrigation timers don't usually allow for running all the stations at the same time. This is because the water pressure would be too low and you'd see significant performance issues with your sprinklers. If you were to set all your stations to the same start time, they would run sequentially.
I have the two program easy set. I have had no success setting the following schedule: I want Program A station 1 to have 2 start times, 9AM and 2pm, run time 5min, everyday. In addition I want program A station 2 to start at 1PM run time 10 min every other day. Can you please walk me through this. Thanks
So I have a 9 station timer and i want to run 9 of them one at a time at a different run times how do I program that? Cause it seems that i have to run multiple zones at one time. And I don’t have enough water pressure to run multiple zones. And there is only 3 programs!!! A 9 station timer should have 9 different programs but I only have A B C.
I have the model 28568, with 7 stations. It's easy to program stations 1-4 as there are four stations on each program (A,B, and C), but how do I get stations 5-7 programmed? I know it will work because until the power went off and I found out the battery wasn't working, the installer of my sprinkler system had all 7 working.
I think I figured that out, but once I put it on Auto, it's not flashing back and forth between the actual time and the next time for the sprinklers to come on. Am I doing something wrong then?
I currently use programs A (it runs the yard sprinklers every other day) and B (it runs the drip line 2x daily). However on really hot days I like to turn on the sprinklers for about 5 minutes in the afternoon to cool off the grass +s the kids usually run through it. Anyway, can I input a 5 min. run time into program C for the sprinklers and not program it's "start time" or "how often" so that I can just use this one manually. That is, if I only set the "run time" for program C and nothing else will it ever be ran unless I manually do it? I prefer this method to me having to manually run each zone individually on super hot days. Thanks.
I recently bought this timer, 4 stations, my yard has 3. My question is my valve has 1 solenoid, so one wire. (Older system). So how to wire and program for this setup.
This likely won't work for this setup. These have been designed for solenoids with 2 wires (common wire and solenoid specific wire). This has been the standard for quite some time in the industry, so you may have some difficulty finding a compatible timer.
is it possible to run every single day, 7 or 8 times a day for drip irrigation? since every program allows only 4 start times, can i continue it on the program B to complete the 8 times a day irrigation for the same station?
I have a 4 station timer. But if I use only 2 stations, how do I know the number of the station, meaning how do i know whether ti is stations 1 and 2, or 2 and 3, or 3 and 4 or 1 and 3 etc? Thanks
How do you just hit manual and have it run when you push the manual button? I have 3 areas on it, and my husband is out of town - he said if it isn't working just hit manual but when I do it won't work... help!
When you hit manual, it will start running the first zone scheduled on the first program. It will take a few seconds for it to kick in. If you continue to have issue our support team would be happy to help walk you through it. Please reach out at 800-488-6156
it sounds like the budget feature might be set to 50%. this will reduce all scheduled times to half. Make sure it is set to 100% and you should get the full time.
Hello, what you're seeing is not stations, but start times per program. This timer has three programs (A,B,C) and up to four start times per program. I program mine as it has two zones. I want to run it once in the morning and once in the evening. Problem is no matter what I do it will run the firstStation once, then the second station once then right after the second station stops the first station starts up again and then the second station starts up after the first one finishes the second time. Twice a day so each station gets double what I want. I cannot figure out what I am doing wrong and I watch your videos and I still cannot figure out what I’m doing wrong.
It appears that my nine station timer will only water for the time that you set and do it on however many times you have it running on that particular station your scenario with two 10 minute run times on the same circuit didn't explain how you might want to run longer time on one setting than the other for the same circuit
This is exactly what i was looking for. The only question i have was if we could change the station order in which to start. Say i want station 2 to start first but I'm guessing there's is no way of doing it. The only waybwould be to manually switch the wires to the one you want. Am I right?
Hello I've had this system for years and always enjoyed it. However, all of the sudden, when I put it to the Auto position, it does not flash the next time it will start, and thus, it does not run on its own. The Program line reads A B C when in the auto position. I only have one program set - program A. I triple checked everything. It's all set up properly. As I said, I've been using Orbit for years and am very familiar with this unit. It just started happening on its own. Any ideas?
Hello, the flashing happens when you are within 24 hours of the next start time. So this would indicate a programming issue. If it's still not, please reach out to us with your contact info via one of our social media channels (linked on our TH-cam page) and we'll work on getting this fixed.
To clear the times for just a single program, you can use the CLEAR button (top-left of timer dial). To reset the entire programming, press the RESET button to the left of the timer screen.
Yes, to do this you would need to put that zone (and all zones you want to have that behavior) on their own program. Set the the start times (you can have up to 4 per program). Then enter the run times to 180 minutes.
You would use this by adjusting the start times. Each program can have multiple (up to four) start times. So in your case you'd set one start time in the AM and the other in the PM. Make sure that program has only the stations you want to run multiple times per day.
No trying to sound like a critic - but I think it would help if you just showed how to program the timer all on just one program (A) first. Then go back and show how to use an additional program (B) as a "second layer". In my experience, most people don't understand the button that says "Program" should never be pushed, unless you need an additional program layered on top of the first program. In fact - I've always opined that the program button should be called something else entirely. Like "layer" for example. Or something better than that, I'm sure there's a better word than "layer" - just trying to make a point. I also feel "start time" is misleading for the average person. "Time to begin running" would be less confusing, perhaps. I don't know - just sharing my thoughts. Thanks!
Hi, if I set a start time and then run times for two zones, will they run concurrently or one after the other. Currently, when I set my stations up with their own start time under a program, the stations run one at a time but then run a second time. I assume I need to set only one start time but then give each station a run time. Is that correct?
Each start time will run through ALL the stations for the set amount of time. To skip a station, set the run time to "0 minutes". For example, to run stations 1-2 for 10 minutes each, set a start time (which will run all the stations concurrently) and then the run time for zones 1 and 2 for 10 minutes. All other stations would be set to 0. Hope this helps.
If you've turned it to OFF for the winter, to turn back on simply rotate the dial to AUTO. Assuming you haven't lost your program from last year, everything should remain the same.
Hello, we would need more info to diagnose the cause of this. Please reach out to our support team and they will get this resolved: www.orbitonline.com/contact-us/
This isn't very "in depth" when you leave out one of the positions on the dial. What is the "Budget" position used for and why did you put it there if you won't describe it in your "programming in depth" video?
This is likely due to having more than one start time. Each start time will run through ALL zones for the amount of time you have them set for. To skip zones on a program, make sure their run time is 0.
I have the same problem. I had it set for 7 am, and that was too late, so I set it for 6, but now it runs twice. I don't know why it doesn't delete the prior setting.
This has to be the worst timer I’ve ever had the displeasure of setting. And the customer service number… lol what a joke. I’ll get a call back in the next business day? Yeah, when I’m at work and nowhere near the timer. I’ll never stray from Hunter brand again.
There is nothing "easy" about the "easy set" timer. Upon installation you will note that the instruction manual refers to "button numbers" although the diagrams do not identify the various buttons by number. That's an example of why these videos are necessary to set up these timers. Nothing intuitive about them at all. Good luck (especially when setting up "how often")
I have 5 stations. Can I run them all at the same time? Or do I have to run them separately If so ,can I just set one start time for all stations? Thanks!
It is not possible to run more than one zone at a time with this timer. This is the case on all irrigation timers due to insufficient water pressure to run more than one zone at a time.
The other videos I viewed were totally useless. Yours hit the nail on the head thanks.
Glad it helped!
I bought my house with this exact sprinkler system. I was changing times and screwed everything up so I hit the reset button and for the life of me I couldn't figure out how to change the individual stations. Thank you so much for dumbing it down for me lol.
Thank you for showing how simple this timer set up is compared to my old style timer that took a rocket scientist to figure out! Great video!
Thank you so much! I thought I was going to have to pay someone to do this for me but you broke it down so now I can change it myself. Now it is easy, thank you!!!!
Thanks for the instructional video!
Im now using all 3 programs for all of my sprinkler stations. No more hand watering!😊👍😎
Thank you! I could not find anywhere how to get it back to 0 minutes! Best video on this timer!
This was the most helpful video on here. Thank you! I'm going to correct what I did wrong. I put multiple start times for each zone in the same program.
This is the best video for how simple this really is! Thanks so much!
Bro you helped me actually understand and get our sprinkler system working, thank you
When u wrote it down it really helped. I'm a visual learner.. thanks so much.
I just purchased the 4 station orbit model 57894. I have it programmed, however I did manually water my grass and now every day after the program runs the system kicks on manually for a cycle. How do I stop the “manual” watering cycle?
Perfect. Thank you for the complete directions. Answered what I needed to know.
This is exactly what I needed to know! Great video! Thanks!
Thank you for showing how to get a station back to zero minutes!!!
Finally! I understand it now. Thank you so much!
Really enjoyed this video demo. It helped a lot, especially in regards to multiple programs and their needs.

is there any way to schedule 2 stations on 1 program with simultaneously running start time and duration
Can someone tell me if this cycles through all the zones? If I program zone one to start at 6am for 10 mins, does zone 2 start at 6:10am?
How do you change the program C to only once a day every day? You had it set twice a day.

Where and how do you replace the 2 AA batteries for backup?
Thank you very much. Very informative.
How much water is emitted (i.e., x gallons in y hours)?

Hi Orbit. I've set my timer for 5 minutes but when I timed the run, it only ran for 2.5 minutes. Any suggestions as to why this is occurring?
it sounds like the budget feature might be set to 50%. this will reduce all scheduled times to half. Make sure it is set to 100% and you should get the full time.
That makes a lot of sense. It is currently set to 60%. I did notice one zone also got missed completely, can that be due to the low budget as well?
It could be, or could be due to other settings.
Thank you. I'll run again tonight through everything to see if I can figure it out. But at least one mystery is solved! :)
Thank you!
Hey so I have a orbit timer with nine stations but only four show and can't program the other 5? Any ideas.
Hello, what you're seeing is not stations, but start times per program. This timer has three programs (A,B,C) and up to four start times per program. Each start time will run through all the zones for their allotted amount of time. To skip a zone, you need to leave/set that zone's run time to 0 minutes by hitting the CLEAR button in the top-left. How did you get it fixed??
I just want to turn it on to sprinkle, it has been programed was on auto but did not go on. I want to turn it on manually?????
It appears that my nine station timer will only water for the time that you set and do it on however many times you have it running on that particular station your scenario with two 10 minute run times on the same circuit didn't explain how you might want to run longer time on one setting than the other for the same circuit
This is exactly what i was looking for. The only question i have was if we could change the station order in which to start. Say i want station 2 to start first but I'm guessing there's is no way of doing it. The only waybwould be to manually switch the wires to the one you want. Am I right?
The only way to do that would be to have a specific program where no stations before station 2 are running. Otherwise they run in sequence.
@@orbitsprinklers okay thank you

Orbit Irrigation service how to clear a stacked timer
To clear the times for just a single program, you can use the CLEAR button (top-left of timer dial). To reset the entire programming, press the RESET button to the left of the timer screen.
Can I run a zone for 4 times every day and run for 3 hours? So basically 3 on 3 off for a total of 24 hours
Yes, to do this you would need to put that zone (and all zones you want to have that behavior) on their own program. Set the the start times (you can have up to 4 per program). Then enter the run times to 180 minutes.
How do I get some 2-3 to run twice a day?Once am the pm?
You would use this by adjusting the start times. Each program can have multiple (up to four) start times. So in your case you'd set one start time in the AM and the other in the PM. Make sure that program has only the stations you want to run multiple times per day.
No trying to sound like a critic - but I think it would help if you just showed how to program the timer all on just one program (A) first. @@orbitsprinklers Awesome. Could you please reply with a link to the one that is the best for showing basic programming of this timer? Thanks!

how do i cancel "Budget" feature on each Zone
Orbit is an appropriate name for this thing because you have to be an astronaut to water your lawn with it.
Does anyone know what the % sign under the program letter indicates?
I figured it out - Budget setting. That wasn't mentioned on this video.
How would I clear the 2nd run time on station 6? great Vid by the way!
To clear a program hit the clear button to the top-left of the dial. It may require you to input the first run time again.
How to use just one program?
These machines are stuck in the past. Like ancient, obsolete, are-you-for-real...? Try a Rachio 3. This interface belongs in the 80s.
Orbit Irrigation pump won't turn off when I selected off

If you've turned it to OFF for the winter, to turn back on simply rotate the dial to AUTO. Assuming you haven't lost your program from last year, everything should remain the same.
It sounds easy but I can't tell which buttons he's actually pushing. It's way too fast on the button pushing.
Sorry for the confusion. If you can specify what part is unclear we'd be happy to provide info.
What to due if stations won’t shut off
Hello, we would need more info to diagnose the cause of this. Please reach out to our support team and they will get this resolved: www.orbitonline.com/contact-us/
"Station" is the same as "zone", right?
Correct. Sorry we use those interchangeably without explanation. We'll try to correct that in a new video.
Thx!
100% complicated, too many buttons to remember.
This isn't very "in depth" when you leave out one of the positions on the dial. What is the "Budget" position used for and why did you put it there if you won't describe it in your "programming in depth" video?
It didn’t answer the question. Let’s say I want water twice a day once in the morning and again in the evening.
Why is my timer watering twice?
This is likely due to having more than one start time. Each start time will run through ALL zones for the amount of time you have them set for. To skip zones on a program, make sure their run time is 0.
Orbit Irrigation Hey thanks a lot! This solves my problem as I indeed put in a different start time for each zone! Thanks again!

Too confusing. I don’t like
I have 5 stations. Can I run them all at the same time? Or do I have to run them separately
If so ,can I just set one start time for all stations? Thanks!
It is not possible to run more than one zone at a time with this timer. This is the case on all irrigation timers due to insufficient water pressure to run more than one zone at a time.
Orbit Irrigation thank you very much! This has been a big help!
Can "interval " waterings be set up to 30 days apart? I have cactus.
The max interval is 32 days.
Is it possible to change clock format to 24h instead of am/pm?
Andrzej Budzyński unfortunately there is not. AM/PM only
Orbit Irrigation That is shame :( many European civils are confused by AM/PM format :(
We will certainly look into implementing this in future developments.
