Age 12ish… mother tried beating me over backseat in car screaming and calling me every horrid name in the book saying I was lying about throwing out her mail. 20 minutes crying saying I didn’t know what she was talking about. My stepdad threw it away. He told her so. She absolutely never apologized for her behavior. This was a regular occurrence with her and me.

Was accused of threatening to commit a school shooting when I was a high school freshman. The ones who framed me tried to prove it by saying I posted a threat on social media. Only, I didn’t have social media at the time even though I had a phone. Thankfully, when the police came, that was one of the only things I needed to show to prove my innocence. However, the school board still didn’t take lightly to this. They let me finish the year, but I had to transfer as soon as that year was over. This was around 7 years ago, so I try not to think too hard on it now. Looking back though, I think my own behavior at the time may have had a part on it too(I had severe ADHD at the time), but I won’t forgive whoever framed me (they didn’t step up before I officially took my leave from that high school).

Not really an accusation but about 3 or 4 years ago I was on the verge of suicide in my school because I used to be bullied nonstop by students and even teachers and growing up with autism didn't help either. I remember this girl who didn't really bullied me started spreading a rumor about me that I was going to bring a knife to school and start murdering people and then taking my own life when I heard about that I broke down crying because I would never do that to anybody let alone thinking about it. But luckily everybody in my school didn't believe that rumor but it still destroyed me socially and I can't imagine what would have happened if they did believe it.
PS:I am now 18 and no longer thinking about suicide and getting better at socialising with people a bit.

I was accused of burning my grandparent's shed down. In the summer of 2011, my dad and I lived with them. One day, I was home alone and noticed smoke from the backyard. I look outside and see the shed is completely engulfed in flames. Unfortunately, my grandparents did not have a home phone, and even though I was 15 then, I did not have a cell phone. So I ran outside, thinking I could try knocking on neighbors' doors to use a phone. Thankfully, someone saw the smoke and called the fire department. They arrived right as the fire was about to reach the house. Fast forward to the next day, my father and grandmother are at the house because we were expecting a visit from an arson detective. Remember that after the fire was put out, nothing was left of the shed or anything in it; everything was burnt to ash except for the shed's electrical wiring that went underground. Anyway, the detective gets there, and 30 minutes of investigating. He concludes/with the assumption that I must have been smoking in the shed before the fire. My father, grandmother, and I had the same reaction. We knew that was not it because I did not smoke. So, we came up with our conclusion. The person who called the fire department heard an explosion right before the fire-that day also had hot weather in the high 90s. Also, my grandfather had half-empty gasoline canisters in the shed as well. So, our theory was that due to the heat, the gasoline caught fire. Even though I did not get accused by my family, it still hurt that someone thought I was the cause.

    TL,DR at the bottom.
This story is on the...more _tame_ side, I guess...but I'll let y'all be the judge of that.
A couple of years ago, someone I know was playing a dressup roleplay game on Roblox called Royale High. We'll call her Saffron to clear up confusion. She was just minding her own business trying to level up and gain more EXP and money when these two girls, who were role-playing as "Mean Girls" (not, not from the movie), approached her. They tried to insult Saffron, but she had comebacks to their insults, which they didn't like.
So, what did these 2 mean girls do to retaliate?...They lied to the WHOLE SERVER claiming that Saffron, _who innocently thought they were all _*_only_*_ role-playing,_ called them racist remarks (their characters were black and the girl's character was white) and fat-shamed them in their Private Chats.
Side-Note: Saffron is also black, or African-Amarican if you prefer, and on the heavier side IRL; so even if she _did_ truly offend them in that manner - which ofc she *DIDN'T,* she'd only be offending *_herself_* as well. But back to the story...
    _She._ *_PANICKED._*
Saffron tried to explain that she did no such thing and that she was also black and plus-sized irl, but the damage was already done. The thing about the internet is people often lean towards the person who accused FIRST and don't care to listen to the other party's side of the story. People were _going_ *_OFF_* on Saffron, not realizing they were defending liars. She got quite the headache seeing people claim that they were recording her and threatening to "cancel her".
Keep in mind, these are the same people who approached _HER_ *FIRST!* And then only decided to tell lies capable of ruining a person's life just because they didn't like the fact that she insulted them back after *_they_* tried to insult her *_FIRST!!!_*
Now, y'all might be thinking: "Just leave the server. Don't bother trying to clear your name if they're not willing to listen."
    Yeah..... _Saffron's a TH-camr._
(I'm not going to say the name of the channel due to privacy, but she's comfortable with sharing this whole story)
She was scared of the possibility that people would find her TH-cam channel by looking at her profile page and spread the false allegations of her being a "body-shaming racist".
So she eventually gave up, logged off, and changed her username and display name on Roblox. Then she went to her channel and told her followers what happened as a heads-up in case they found anything online regarding her being "racist" and such.
The next day, she logged back into Royale High and changed her character's look and identity. In the meantime, she kept looking out for videos on TH-cam for anything that might've tarnished her name. After seeing nothing for a couple of weeks, she felt like it was safe for her to continue with her TH-cam channel, so she got back to work.
Though she was extremely depressed about the whole situation, she made rules for herself to never be part of any more roleplays where someone approaches her while trying to be a "mean girl" and stuff like that (Author's Note: Yeah...That wasn't _mean..._ It was just pure *_EVIL_* and I'm *_still mad about it!_* 😡).
But.....She did get some petty revenge: _She reported their behinds to Roblox._ lol😆 (I hope they got banned at *_LEAST_* for a day if not longer!😅)
If they're reading this, and they still haven't repented, I just want to say:
*_JUSTICE. AND. KARMA. WILL. FIND. YOU._*
    ☝️☝️☝️☝️☝️☝️☝️☝️☝️☝️
*TL,DR:* Basically, some girl on Roblox tried to ruin a girl's reputation and life by spreading false rumors that she was being racist and body-shaming them, which doesn't sound too bad since she could've just left the server, but she's a TH-camr (not saying the name tho) and she was scared people was going to try and cancel her over something she didn't say.

Accused of being an adulteress and that my ex was an adulterer who cheated constantly on his wife and he was a pedo. I dated the ex while his wife had filed for divorce. I figured if she didn’t want him, I did. When he realized he would have to sell his house as part of the divorce he decided to cancel the divorce and make her come back. She was thrilled because she realized that if she divorced him, she would lose his pension when he died. His health is poor. So I got dumped so he could keep his house. He now regrets his decision because I won’t date a married man. Anyway, my boss made all sorts of terrible accusations against my ex and me and raked us over the moral coals. Sorry, nope. He was never a pedo and until I came along after she filed for divorce he never went out with any woman.

As a freshman and junior I got a rep for being a metal head an a bit of a pyro and while I never got in trouble for it the rep stuck with me. Days after Columbine someone started a rumor that I was planning something and I got arrested for suspicion of planning an attack. When I was in the Army I got accused of assaulting (not SA, regular Assault) a female Soldier from another company in our Brigade Footprint. The actual events that had happened were she was ground guiding a humvee and for some dumb reason had decided to try and cut through an area where we were having an equipment lay out. I got asked to stop her before she led the humvee through our equipment and walked up holding my arm out to motion her to stop, she got right up on me and smacked my arm out of the way and kicked me in the groin and I responded by pushing her away and she fell as I fell. This all happened around 1pm-2pm (1300-1400 for the military folks).
Around 530pm (1730) I got called to my office by my squad leader, we had no idea what was going on until I saw her and her Leadership come walking up and she had a big ol smirk on her face, the bitch literally walked right up to me and said “you’re in big trouble now” as my squad leader got in between us. After a bit my First Sergeant arrived and we went into his office where Female Soldier started crying and saying I threatened her and made up some sob story about how I attacked her unprovoked. I told my side and then my side was verified by the guy who told me to stop her over the phone. I was released but not before being warned by her leadership to “watch my ass”, the same leadership eventually apologized to me and we ended up on friendly terms while she caused them a ton of trouble!

This was back in high school, I think about 6 months after my old man passed away, maybe longer. It was the beginning of the weekend, and my mom just got home from grocery shopping (I was doing yard work). After a few minutes she walked right up to me and accused me of stealing a blank check from her checkbook. I looked at her and straight up told her I had no idea what she was talking about. She called me a liar and insisted that I stole a check to go out with friends. Told her that was completely implausible, because she made sure to keep me away from my friends outside of school, and I wouldn't be able to use it because my name isn't on the damn checks (at the time her and my deceased fathers name was still on them, and while he and I shared the first name, our middle names are quite different). She was still insisting that I did it and told me I had until the following day to fess up, otherwise she would call the cops on me.
Needless to say, I was terrified. Here I am, minding my own business, taking care of chores, and my mother calls me a thief with no actual evidence. And more than likely, I'll be going to jail in the morning because she was bent on believing that I was lying. I didn't sleep that night. Hell I stayed dressed, even with shoes on in case she decided to be more of a bitch and call the cops in the middle of the night. I couldn't call anyone, I knew if I tried leaving, that the situation would be made much worse. I had even contemplated suicide.
Well, come 5am, she knocks on my bedroom door. I opened it and told her that I'll get out of her hair, wait outside for the cops to pick me up. She stopped me and apologized (though it didn't feel like a legitimate one). Apparently she called the banks automated system, and upon hearing the check number that she accused me of stealing, she suddenly remembered using that check at some other store that filled it out electronically. Aside from feeling extremely hurt by the accusation, not to mention the complete lack of trust, I felt empty inside. She tried to hug me, but I stopped her. She looked at me hurt, asking why I wouldn't let her hug me. I told her she'd have to gain my trust again, because the moment she called me a liar, that trust was gone. She started crying and begging for forgiveness, I told her goodnight and closed the door. I was tired and hurt. I didn't want to think about it, I just wanted to sleep.

Honestly? I don't know. My Father yelled at me and sent me to my room for something my Brother did. He even pulled the "You know what you did!" line. I was so upset that my Mother couldn't calm me down.
Apparently, my Brother admitted to whatever it was. My Father came to me to apologize. I reprimanded him about not verifying the facts. He always verified after that.
    I don't remember how old I was but I was under 8.
    ---
My Brother was accused of two bomb threats. One from a hypothetical conversation the second because he stopped a guy from going through backpacks on a field trip.
Much as we've been harmed by the American school system, we know the physical school isn't the problem. Harming the people in it will not accomplish anything.

I got accused of car theft once. The problem? I knew the owner(s). They were a married couple, and I had just that day learned the wife was abusive, via the husband calling me for help trying to get back into the state from where they were out of state on vacation visiting her parents. He wanted me to move the car and hold on to it for him so that he would have a means of transportation when he got back, so that she couldn't restrict his movements (a common tactic for abusers making their victims dependent on them). He told me where to get the keys, the code to the house lock, and gave me permission to move the car. I do so, and then get a call a couple days later being screamed at by the wife that I stole her car and I need to return it, or she's going to get the police to come break down my door. This was at like 11 pm on a snowy day, so I obviously did NOT want to drive anywhere at all. And she's not even in the state at that point! After trying unsuccessfully to get her to calm down for a while, I hang up on her and call the husband and ask for help from him. He gets his sister and brother-in-law to drive him (again, in crappy conditions) and take possession of the car. It takes him over an hour and a half to get there, and the whole time his wife is blowing up my phone trying to get back in contact.
The whole thing was terrifying. I don't know if the police got involved or not; I was never personally contacted. I don't regret helping my friend, but it did feel a lot like I was being punished for trying to be a good person.

I work at a world famous amusement park on the most popular family ride. Woman got mad when she had to ride next to a man because she didn't want her teen daughter to be the one next to him and consequentially had to sit next to her brother. This was unacceptable because her kids hate each other. She basically accused another person on vacation with their family of being a PDF because he was next to her and we must fill every seat to keep wait times down. Man didn't say anything, do anything, or even know this woman was accusing him. She just came up to us and asked us what we were gonna do to make it right. She genuinely thought she was the victim of a crime. My manager had to explain to this woman many times that nothing happened and that I was not I. The wrong for looking at her like she had a lobster coming out of her ear. Apparently she did apologize but somehow I don't think she actually had a come to Jesus moment.

I got accused of curb crawling by my own brother. He was told by the friend of a friend of a friend that I hit on some drunk girl and offered her money for sex. I was in the area at the time she said.
I finished work at 1am and went to the gym, left at 2:30 in the morning, my normal Sataurday night routine. By the of end, I was starving. 8 hour shift plus gym. I didn't want to cook anything and wake up house so I went across the road to the only take away that was open. Had to wait a while because the gym and take away are also in the middle of the clubbing district. Its also kicking out time for the clubs.
After a wait, I got in my car and drove home. A week later, I'm being interrogated by my brother.
But here is where it got interesting. This girl didn't identify me, she identified my car. Its very distinctive. How often do you see a mid 80's American police car in the UK? I also parked it outside a pub near the gym. For an hour, I spotted people posing and taking pictures of it and thats pretty normal. She also said I was wearing a blue suit and had blonde hair? My brother called her to confirm this and she did.
I worked in a petrol station. I walked into the gym wearing red and orange hi-vis clothing. Afterwards, I didn't bother to change out of my gym clothes: black joggers and a sweat stained black t-shirt. I also have dark brown hair and at the time, a thick beard.
Some randon guy was posing with my car and tried to persuade this girl to go to bed with him.
This explained to her and she didn't believe him stating why would some one claim to own old rusty beaten piece of Detroit? You'd be surprised. She reluctantly agreed that it wasn't me but some sad loser. But she didn't apologise for spreading lies about me that could've put me on the sex offenders register for next decade! My brother asked if she wss going to correct her mistake and her true colours hit like a battering ram. I must have dyed my hair, shaved and grew a 4 month beard in a week. My brother starting making the calls to relay what she said. People much have realised she was batshit crazy, attention seeking or blaming an easy target for shitty night. Everyone took my side and I haven't heard anymore from it since. This was in 2016. I don't know her name or what she looks like. But it rattled me. I stopped going to that gym, I left my job soon after and rarely go to that part of town anymore, especially at night.

It must have been a long night for the police officers because she slept with 10 guys that night. So not only will they need to go through the different DNA, but also call the guys in, and hear the same story from them.
