How To ~ Store Scrapbooking Kits in Alex Drawers

- I've had quite a few requests to show how I store my scrapbooking kit subscriptions in my Alex drawers from Ikea. So here is a close up look at how I store my Hip Kit and Scrappery subscriptions.

We are so similar in how we store and sort them, opening up everything and deciding which sides of the paper to use, except that I have my kit in an iris container. The large drawers are perfect! I wish we had Ikea here in NZ! TFS!
Cool! Fun to see all those yummy supplies all arrayed so beautifully. I use my Alex drawers for storing my wood mount stamps (but not Stampin'up, which have cases). The drawers are just right for stamps, and my 12" guillotine trimmer goes on top for easy cutting.
I wish I had the space to have kits laid out like that in big draws. It would be great to open the draw and instantly be able to see what you have.

Love how you sort them. I have "heaps" (love that word) of kits I haven't used. Maybe I would use them if I did something like this. TFS . . .
You really make me want those drawers. My paper is currently stored in plastic milk crates by maker or kit, some by color. It isn't as visible though for quick decisions. Those kits both look AMAZING!

The Scrapery kit is beautiful! I am currently considering subscribing to a kit, rather than buying random bits and pieces throughout the month. Love your Alex drawers
Omg you had the best idea, I've been looking for a way to store my kaisercraft collections so that they are all together an this is the way to do it. It's so hard to find good storage here in Australia.
This is a great idea! If only I had room for one of those sweet drawers. I think I'm at craft room max for space right now but this is a great way to organize!

I have the Alex drawer unit right next to my desk. It has all my embellishments, dies, PL cards, inks, adhesives and a full drawer for PL pocket pages. I have been wanting to get a binder to keep the pocket pages in so I can clear out a drawer. I keep my kit on top of the unit so that I use it but storing it all in one drawer would look better! tfs! cheri

Adele, what size is your drawer unit? You just helped me in figuring out the best way to store my Hip Kits. I LOVE the way you lay everything out so you can see it and get to it easily. I found the Alex drawer unit but was wondering if it's the 20 3/8 by 26. I hate to assume it is but I think it is. One last question, what are the little dishes listed under at Ikea. Maybe it's because I am sleep deprived but I can't find them on their site.
hi adele, do you always purchase all the add-ons on top of the main hip kit? trying to figure out what is the most important.. any guidance or recommendations? would you purchase the color add on before the extra paper or embellishments? don't think I can do all of it but looking for some advice.. thanks love all your inspiration!

it's well over a year later, but I DO have a question. you said "two kit collections"...is that different than just subscribing to a kit? I think I've been doing things ALL WRONG!!! I live in a rural and remote area...long story short...so I do a lot of ordering online without EVER really seeing in person what I'm actually ordering. when you were putting things out there was such a GREAT selection of pieces with the sets. think maybe I should go to ordering more SETS and not just try to order BLINDLY online! Did you just put out two sets? ...or did two kit collections mean something different? (hope you see this comment)
How do you remember what collection all the goodies are from after taking them out of the packaging?! I've a god awful memory!
What kit would you recommend if I only can subscribe to one? :)
Sweet Jesus woman, how much do you spend on kits? I also hate the packaging associated with scrapbooking, for something with scrap in its name there sure is a lot of waste.
