    BMW X5. Most crossover SUVs strive to be as comfortable and usable as possible. But for the BMW X5, all-out practicality takes a back seat to driving excitement. While not the roomiest or most useful crossover, the X5 offers drivers stirring driving dynamics and versatile all-weather capability.
    Welcome to our comprehensive Kelley Blue Book review of the BMW X5.
    To differentiate itself from the smaller X3 and remain competitive in the crossover marketplace, the X5 has grown in size in its second generation. It now offers more cargo room, more technology and optional third-row seating. Yet the X5 retains the inspired handling that originally won it acclaim. For more new car reviews, interviews and automotive news visit www.kbb.com today.

    A message for those who suggest the 5 series instead: You want to consider the X5 if you have a child of under 6 years of age and require a real drivers car. For all the Moms driving the X5 it will be much easier handling the child at chest level without having to strain your back while working the child seat. Same goes for the trunk access. It is the right car for families with small kids, families that want the handling and awesomeness of the BMW.

    well said, I just ordered mine with the diesel, at 425 ft lbs of tq, its actually a whole second faster 0-60 than the reg 6. Oh and its not clanky, barely tell its diesel.
    I sold 2 mini cooper S to buy this car, definetly a drivers car.

    I was reading some reviews of the X5 on cars.com and most of the comments were pretty fair, basically people realizing the pros and cons in a unbiased way. Then there was a couple that made me laugh, one person was completely ripping the car for a couple of reasons. This person didn't like the fuel economy, this confuses me, didn't you know the MPG before you bought the car. He also complains about the run flats, he recommends to not go off road, duh it's a luxury SUV not a pickup.

  • @BLAZENYCBLACKOPS
    @BLAZENYCBLACKOPS 11 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The bottom line is you need to do your home work before buying a new of pre owned car, you also have to be willing to make sacrifices in some areas to gain in others. I've only put 14,000 miles on the SRT8 in 3.5 years, since I don't put on high mileage fuel economy wasn't a big issue for me. This past summer I purchased a 12 Hyundai Sonata 2.0T, awesome car for a great price, the only down side is that it's FWD, if they can change that it would put it over the top in my opinion.

    He says that the run flats are too expensive, hard to find, and constantly need fixing or replacing. I have run flats on my 06 SRT8 Cherokee, aside from the rough ride the run flats are amazing, you don't need a spare if you have run flats, you can drive 60 MPH up to 100 miles with 0 psi in your tire, yes they are expensive but worth it. If my wife gets a flat she doesn't even need to stop, as for hard to find I had no problem getting 2 new rear tires and I didn't go to the dealer to get them.

    the X5 is way better, head-up display rules. Also, in the seond roll, usually there is a bump that sticks up from the group in the middle seat... its not there in the X5, its actually flat there... quiet nice, more room for the feet.

    Ahh. My friend has a 2002 X5 4.4i that has 155K miles on it and luckily for them, it has been bulletproof. They bought it new for I think 52K. When I say that got lucky, I mean they fucking lucky that it has been so reliable for them. These things are horribly unreliable and they have a vast array of issues like tranny failures, onboard computer failures, display failures, and more! They also have a new 2010 X35d
    But for anyone who can pay good money and can switch it every 5-7 years, why not?

    5225 lbs. The Benz ML weighs hundreds of pounds less, than 5000 lbs. BMW having an extra turbo, makes up for the weight, & weirdly true, is that it displays a 1 MPG above the Benz.
    BMW is also Bio-Diesel Safe. The Benz isn't. I am about to purchase 1 of these 2 diesel SUV's, by NEXT Friday, & the Pro's are even steven. The price, is close to same.
    What's weird, is that BMW MSRP is much higher yet, I am having a hard time, getting MB dealers to go as low, as BMW, with the price.

    some of the WORST in terms of QUALITY and material engineering cars : BMW. I have X5 made in SCarolina. constant problems with EVERYTHING...including biodegradable door handles that after 5 years GET GLUEY LIKE JUNK and need to be replaced(lost of YT videos in this!)...junk junk junk quality. Luxury cars that do not have one vital luxury feature: RELIABILITY is ONE OF WORST. KIA is way better for reliability. transmission issues...engine issues...total junk cra...electronics...some of WORST. I have same year toyota camry with 3x mileage...NO PROBLEMS WITH CAMRY..constant with BMW X5
