Did you know: In GTA 3, within the game files, the big planes were coded originally to explode when hit by an RPG (or damaged enough like shooting at it with a gun). However, because of the incident of 9/11, Rockstar changed plans and decided to remove the ability to destroy big planes (or cause explosions). The code is still within the game files so if you want to see the original explosion, I guess you gotta modify the game and have fun?
Ryden the 9/11 incident also changed the cop cars color from cyan to black.
AquaGreen Productions the 9/11 incident also chopped off the dodo wings to prevent the player from flying normally

GTA III had a lot of features cut off because of that, by the way.
As far as I can remember, they even reduced Dodo's flying capacities for that same reason, thus making it almost impossible to fly.

I was like 9 or 10 and I actually completed up-to SAM. Mission oh I mean I was going to complete SAM but it was hard because you have to shot plane then grab baggages then run from cops. I completed first part but there were guards so.. I died. Now I am 12 years old mature boy 😁😂

It can actually be made destroyable again by tweaking the Airtrain's coding in the gta3.exe files. When blown up, it will showcase a rather undetailed explosion, and give the player a four-star wanted level, just like if the player had blown up a DeadDodo.
