    Thank you Dr. Roseann for your work with this life changing condition. Our three children have PANDAS and it has been one of the most challenging and heartbreaking experiences my wife and I have faced in our lifetime. To watch the children you love and adore go through this is indescribable. It is also very difficult for everyone involved. We are so blessed to have friends and family that are very supportive and understanding of this extremely difficult lifestyle PANS/PANDAS creates. I am so grateful for the tenacity of my wife and the wonderful support we have from Dr. Amy Derksen at Holistic Healing Arts. It’s been a long and crazy ten year journey. After watching your video, (that my wife found😁) I am really excited to pursue the mental health healing for our children. I also want to encourage all of you that are discovering this about your children. It is a long journey, but please stay strong and remember to take time to heal and take care of yourself. You will need every ounce of strength and energy you have to navigate this adventure. I have had to deal with so many of my own issues and imbalances to survive this. If I can do it and you’re reading this, you can too.

    Omg thank you for this. My 2 year old had gotten very sick for 2 weeks so try high fever and severe runny nose. after that, everything changed. He regressed in speech, eye contact, facial expressions…. He was then diagnosed as autistic, but I’m just not convinced because of how sudden the onset was. It’s as if all of a sudden my son was someone else. I have tried mentioning this to our pediatrician and get dismissed, but as a mom I just have this gut feeling. Thank you for this post and any advice I am glad to receive. Much appreciated

    I havesuccess with what I believe was a Panda condition of my 10 yearold daughter. We had covid in Nov 2022. In March 2023 I started to notice my daughter’s sudden behavioral changes and gradually her tic symptoms appeared. I was so worried to death that I went to a Naturapath to get her checked. I believed her symptoms were associated with some viral infections that lingered after she got covid. Weeks prior to her Naturapath’s appointment, she was diagnosed with strep throat and her tic symptoms got worse. A few days after an antibiotic, the tic symptoms got better. Hence I was convinced they are related. Our Naturapathic doctor gave her immunity tincture drops, probiotic, Vit D with K2, Zinc with Vic C. i also added in the mix colloidal silver as i was hoping to get rid the remnants of the virus/bacteria thats in her system. To date, my daughter is now symptoms free.

    Thank you for your channel. On May 7th my 9 year old started to have extreme OCD symptoms they came out if now where. I made her a drs appointment she was seen on May 10th. I asked about Pans and Pandas. The Dr looked he over order blood works and checker her out. May 11th and May 12th she got blister on her hand feet and mouth. We went back to the Dr in May 13 and she was diagnosed with HFM. I told them in think it’s linked to Pans or Pandas. They gave her prednisone for 5 days and Azithromycin do 5 days. She woke up and had a bed wetting accident. I took her back to the Drs May 15th. They tried to get a urine sample to rule out UTI my daughter had extreme anxiety, shaking and rapid heart beat. They ordered more labs for pans and pandas. She is in a OCD loop thinking she is wet after she goes to the bathroom even though she is dry. She likes to tucks her thumbs in her hands, her eye pupils get so big when the anxiety and OCD kicks in. As a parent it’s heartbreaking to see your child go through all this. Happened all of a sudden. Thank you for the information on Pans and Pandas.

    I am starting to think that my 7 year old son has Tourette's syndrome or even PANS/PANDAS... When he turned 5 he started getting ticks associated with is neck. This was right after we went to a bad covid sickness. He recovered after a week and a half, like his sister. His tics started out very slowly though and we didn't quite notice it at the beginning. Sometimes he has them pretty strong, other times they are fairly unnoticeable. Stress, crowded activities and tiredness tends to trigger them. Current his tics are moving his neck and shoulders, sniffing and rolling his eyes. No vocal items, except for the sniffing where he sounds like a piggy. I don't want this to get worse for him but I haven't been able to find a CAUSE to help him manage them or cure them. Every pediatrician we go to says "oh he will grow out of it"... well he's now 7 and it's been two full years now... and they're still with him! Are there any genetic traits that cause this where I could get him a genetics test to test for it and then focus on turning off the affects of those possible mutations like i have with my mthfr mutations?? I have him on magnesium, L Theanine, Vit A, D3, B6, B12, and K2. We've recently cut out gluten so he's no eating anymore bread or pastas but I feel like as soon as we did that they got worse, so maybe that's been a stresser for him?? I really want to help him out and no one can give me any serious answers. We eat organic and I keep dyes out of our foods and I cook 90% of the time from home. We don't have health insurance so everything is out of pocket as far as expenses goes. Thank you for this video. It's given me some direction to go in studying if he has PANS/PANDAS...

      our son also started to have ticks out of the blue. In a week time had 22 ticks and very heavy ones. He was just 6 years old. Today 11 years. Some weeks/months are less intensive. Othes are to much. Before he got ticks he suddendly started to change his talking. he mixed up the sentences and copied what we where saying. So weird because he is a super smart kid that could talk very early on and even read the alphabet when he was 1 year old. Do you feel like all the vitamines help your son?

      @@paulinebrus7580 I do! I believe they've gone way down. We've also been taking him to a fantastic chiropractor in Bowling Green KY...it's been a game changer. Those neck jerks mess with the spine and adjustments help keep them way down and they are almost not there now. It's only been a couple of weeks too. I've been quite impressed! I'm very sorry to hear about your son and I hope you find him some relief friend.

    what about "just" ocd? no other symptoms like tics or behavioral issues. i started with ocd in childhood and i'm now 25. my ocd themes have waxed and waned over the years but the actual ocd itself is consistent, though i've never correlated it to anything other than stress/trauma. for example i'm not at a 10 everyday (unless triggered) so if it "went away" for a week i probably wouldn't notice per se. i've asked my parents if my ocd seemed abrupt and they didn't seem to think so. is this still concerning? i just recently started seeing an ERP specialist but i have been obsessing over whether or not i now should be looking into this.
    i had lyme in 2020, but i was treated promptly and for a pretty long time to avoid future complications and i did well. my ocd never really changed during that time. at the same time, i was tested for mycoplasma and my titers were high for over a year... not sure why and i didn't have any typical mycoplasma symptoms or really any symptoms for that matter, so i'm not sure if it was a coincidence or not. i actually just got those levels rechecked today so i don't have the results yet. hopefully they finally went down/away!
    i also have a history of type 1 diabetes and hashimoto's.

    What time period is considered acute, or sudden onset? If ocd like behavior appeared in a minor way suddenly (head nodding) and gradually got worse over the next 1-2 weeks (regular nodding, door tapping, touching, checking) is that sudden and acute?

    • @DrRoseann
      @DrRoseann  ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question. Many have "soft signs" before the full onset. There must be a acute increase in symptoms in order for it to be PANS or PANDAS. AE can be more of a waxing and waning. drroseann.com/the-ocd-pans-pandas-connection/

    Hi Dr Ro, thank you for this video. Our now 7yo changed overnight also, after a strep infection. She developed extreme sensory processing challenges, where at her worst she will not be able to handle the ground under her feet so will jump in the air for relief. She’ll do this while screaming for a long long time. She’ll become so stressed that she’ll almost vomit and spit. She’ll spin on the spot and if we try to touch her she runs away and screams even more.
    Once she is calmed down (from pure exhaustion), she’ll collapse into our arms and allow us to cuddle her.
    She has trouble with shoes and socks and hair brushing etc.
    But aside from that and some anxiety, there are no other symptoms.
    Do I feel this could fit the PANDAS mold?

      I am so sorry to hear this! It is NEVER too late! Read Brain Under Attack and It's Gonna Be OK!. They are guides to help with PANS/PANDAS and other clinical conditions. Sending you virtual hugs!
