Revisiting my favorite Sonic game of all time: Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (and Knuckles!)
Sonic 3: Angel Island Revisited (Sonic 3 A.I.R.) is a fangame by Eukaryot which aims to be an enhanced port of Sonic the Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles. The fangame includes features such as 16:9 widescreen support, constant 60 fps gameplay, a new time attack mode, as well as various bug fixes and minor gameplay tweaks. The game also has excellent modded content support.
Sonic 3 A.I.R. is a non-profit fan game project. It is not affiliated in any way with SEGA or Sonic Team, the original creators of Sonic 3 and Sonic and Knuckles.
But it is the absolutely definitive way to best play and experience Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and Knuckles!!!! Incredibly well made. - เกม

Thanks man. When I did this playthrough, it wasn't intended to be a perfect run or anything like that. I've always come back to Sonic 3 and Knuckles many times over the last 30 years as it's probably in my top 5 favourite games of all time. So with all that experience, I've practically memorised the entire game and it only dawned on me at the end of the playthrough that this was the best playthrough I've ever done of Sonic 3 and K.

I am playing sonic 3 right now
I noticed S&K stuff as early as Hydrocity, I don't know of anything earlier [except you got the slot machine bonus stage in Angel Island] plus I know I've not played the game that has that super music, plus I wish Origins & Mania cam with the shut off ability for the super form
That's another reason why this game is a superior version of Origin's take on Sonic 3 and Sonic and Knuckles. When playing the bonus stages on Sonic 3 and Knuckles, you can get the Sonic and Knuckles bonus stages on Sonic 3's levels. The game even switches the invincibility jingles, 1up jingles and Act 1 boss music depending on which of the two games you are on. That is not present in Sonic Origins either. That super music is in the original alpha of Sonic 3. It's a shame they took it out as I think it's half decent.

It's ridicious that its been taken off the Steam store. Criminal in fact. Thank God I downloaded it a couple of years ago. I believe there IS a way to play it without Sonic 3 and Knuckles. Do you have access to Internet Archive and have you checked there?
You don’t need the steam version all you need is a sonic 3 & knuckles rom which you can find anywhere online
No u need the USA md rom if not in hand just get a sonic and knuckles happyrom then

Oui en plus d'avoir un perfect run il y'a un ring attack base sur le niveau bonus des spheres lumineuses un peu le meme gerne de gameplay que je realise en general !

Dans sonic origins en apparence on peut avoir un max d'anneaux de 999 mais finalement l'excedent qui n'apparait pas dans le nombre est rajoute dans le decompte bonus de fin de niveau! ( j'ai vu s'afficher au bonus 107900 points a la fin du niveau donc il ont compter les 80
anneaux supplémentaires ! )

Can you do a perfect speed run with the faster sonic mod the more better faster sonic mod and the gotta go real fast mod together

I suppose if you were to go to the slot machine bonus stages and get 50 rings, you can keep getting continues. If you do the special stages and grab every ring, you will get a perfect and a continue. If you then 'fail' the special stage, you can theoretically keep retrying to get more continues. I guess it's possible

Visit the website Sonic 3: Angel Island Revisited to download the latest version of the game. Create a new folder and extract the downloaded file into the folder and the game will be available. Completely free to play! To play with mods, read the manual that's provided with the game as download it.

the Steam version of Sonic 3 and it is no longer available thanks to the existence of Sonic Origins. I was lucky as I downloaded this off Steam 6 months before Origins came out as I wanted to try it. However, there are other ways to play it without the Steam version but I unfortunately do not know how.
am i the only one who thinks blue spheres is hard?
When I first played Sonic 3, I did find the special stages difficult but once you have played them enough, you can get them down better than all the other special stages in any of the other Sonic games I find. Like with everything, practice.
