    When I watch your videos my blood pressure drops 30 points. I watch a bunch of TH-cam trout fishing channels but you are hardyman by far have the best quality and beautiful footage. I don't know how you find these places, but they are truly amazing. Just listening to the noise created by the flow of those streams is soothing. Thanks for your time making these videos and Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Absolitley amazing.

      Thanks for the kind words! I mostly find these places by looking at maps in the mountains for creeks I haven't fished yet 👍

      I watch to wind down just as much as I do to learn!

    I’ve been following a few years now. You were one of a few who introduced me to Tenkara. I now fish Tenkara only! So you should take Cassie home a fish now and then. You never know, you may even learn to enjoy to eat trout. They’re delish! Fish on!

    Thank you Tristen for introducing me to Tenkara fly fishing through your channel. I bought an Aventik rod (my first Tenkara) earlier this year and went fishing in the eastern Sierras. I have always loved fishing small creeks, and Tenkara is the perfect match for these beautiful threads of water. The pure simplicity and appropriateness for skinny water is magic. I can’t wait to go out again. Keep on sharing your passion.

    Thanks Tristan. It’s so interesting how habitats vary as a function of geography. Around here, it’s the brookies that struggle to persevere and compete against the brown trout population. Locally they’re the most protected and sought after species.

    • @TenkaraAddict
      @TenkaraAddict  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, that's wild. Here they out-eat all of the native cutthroat and other species!

    There’s an explosion of wild brookies in a lot of streams and lakes in Colorado …. With so many fish and so little food to go around they are basically starving … that’s why there’s a 10 fish 8” or less limit here…. So folks do your bit now and again and take a few home for dinner 😄👍👍 great video as always thanks for taking us along 👍👍

    You are catching fish and having a great time, may I suggest using flies in the 14 16 sizes, unless you're matching the hatch, for larger fish.

    I'd rather be fishing in the rain than working in the sun 🍻

    Always nice to go along with you. Even if it was a creek over crowded with rookies, still nice to be out.

    Flies

    Was thinking of picking up a bear tooth, glad to know it feels alright.
    Got the 4 year old on some creek bass with the tenkara rod and she was so stoked to catch her first fish! Bass are really good fighting on the tenkara rod, you should switch it up and try it out some time! Always enjoy your uploads, have a great day!!

      There aren't really bass in the creeks in my part of the country. I'd probably have to drive 1000 miles for that 🤷‍♂

    9 foot line? is that fly line plus leader is 9ft? or 9 ft of fly line then leader? Thanks. Glad to have you back.

    I have to ask...do you hold fishing liscences in several different states or just get a permit for a few days at a time? Amazing fishing. Wish the trout fishing was good here on the east coast but everything has been overfished for decades.

    I wonder if any cutthroat trout may yet remain in that creek’s headwaters. Beautiful stream, but so troubling to see fish in such “skinny” condition.

    • @bartholomewprice3221
      @bartholomewprice3221 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The fish are skinny because there are too many of them in one creek as stated in the title. There's not enough food to go around.
      That's why, for example, in California, fishermen are not allowed to take brook trout LONGER THAN ten inches. The DFW wants fishermen to take only the small ones.
      5.84. BROOK TROUT.
      (a) Open season: All year.
      (b) Limit: Ten.
      (c) Size limit: Less than 10 inches total length.

    • @TenkaraAddict
      @TenkaraAddict  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I can answer this because I've actually fished the headwaters of this creek! I believe I caught mostly brook trout, but there were a couple of cutthroat and a rainbow.

    Beartooth is possible the only TRC rod that peaks my interest. I may have to pick this guy up.

    I totally understand your point at 11:00 minutes. I also love fishing but don't give a shit eating them... Maybe if they were bacon flavored i would change my mind.

      I remember that video it was really good. I guess I meant more like Chinook, Coho, Steelhead, and even sea run Sockeye. I know it's not part of your series, but would you ever record a video in the future, maybe?

    Take your limit home to your wife to cook. You will never taste better fish than what you're catching right now.
