Such a exciting season, MTL have literally made follow hockey again, instead of just watching random games. I knew a couple years ago I would check in on how Suzuki and Caufield are progressing, and boy are they doing well. Good content with a detailed rundown :) Armia is one of my favorite players, knows his role and is good at it. One of the best pkrs in my opinion.
Uno what, this is the content I like to see in games highlights. Not just showing us here's the goal, here's the penalty but also moments like displaying team effort like Armia battling without stick during or the 2nd pp moment at the end of the second period when they really tried and almost scored or even huge saves from both goalies. This really shows that you watched the game and are the real highlights of the team.
Just want to say shout out to the 4 nations geniuses for the snubs this year. appreciate the fire! Go Habs Go baby! I watched this entire game with my 4 year old son today and shared a really cool moment. Hutson and Dobes are special man. It's their attitudes that set them apart. You can just sense these kids are willing to put in the work to dare to be great. one thing that stood out today though is the importance of Heineman in this lineup. Heino needs to get his Heiny back in the liney bud. Tell em whiskey!!! good stuff as always.

:D Hahahaha :D Can't stop laffin at that bicycle clip :D Excellent :D I "came to the Habs" with the P Laine trade this season - learning to love the team for real now. Every game the best entertainment the planet has to offer, imho. So, Newhook finally broke the spell; game winner, no less. Armia could have scored a hattrick, if only he could hit a barn door...but he is still better than I ever saw him right now. :D The goalie situation seems superbly solid, too. Yup, too much defensive zone time, but grrreat game, as always :) So looking forward to the next one.
I have been following Montreal and the NHL for over 60 years and have seen most of the elite players from 'cradle to grave' in their career. The elite players are easy to spot very early in the NHL for all positions. I know it's only 4 games in, but Dobes exhibits the moves and confidence of an elite goalie. Dryden was the same in 1971, playing just 6 games in that regular season before Montreal management & the fans knew Dryden could slay the fire breathing Dragons called the Boston Bruins who terrified the entire league that year. Dryden stopped the Bruins and won the Conn Symthe trophy along the way to the Stanley Cup that year all before he won the Calder trophy the following year Dobes looks like a second-coming. Right now there is hope for the team to just make the wild-card spot, but this team is no mirage, it's the real deal and I believe they will finish higher than a wild-card so long as lady-luck keeps them healthy. Someone call Montreal City Hall to ask them to find the plans of the 'usual route' Montreal used for a Stanley Cup parade, near every year when the dynasty of Montreal ruled the NHL.
Incredible comment, absolutely fantastic thank you for taking the time to leave it, What impresses me the must is the intangible grit metric that the team seems to suddenly have. If they do make it into the playoffs - this could be huge for them.
Speaking of Dobes, I've said it 30 times and I will say it 300 times more. I've never seen a goalie move like he does, he commits to a faint where a normal goalie would have to jump/lay to attempt a save but somehow he slides on his pads following the player. If he can keep up he will be one of the top goalies very soon. Very nice to see at the moment.
Pezzeta is brutal nowadays. Oof. I don't know if he's just not in it or if it's because we've been so mediocre before that Pezzeta looked like a decent player and now he's just not following the team anymore. Not sure why we keep on playing him when we have a ton of options from Laval.
With everyone chipping in on back checking, imho it’s showing Pezzatta’s defensive play weakness, maybe if we weren’t in playoff mode he might level out but at this point he’s a liability and it’s FIORFO season until we get in to the post season
I agree on Pezzetta, probably a mix of not being able to play a lot since the season started and no longer being a good fit for where the team is at collectively . Might see a call up during the week-end .
@@CanadianBiPolarBear fair enough, I think the conversation is why he’s being benched, he was outplayed by Heineman’s game, I think he could do better but he only has until Heineman’s injury
Such a fun game to watch. There was some up and downs and the puck was like a hot potato for the entire match. I agree with you that we still have issues shutting down plays and gaining control in our zone. Stone Cold Dobby was crazy!!!! I was on the edge of my couch for the entire 3rd period and he did not dissappoint! (Special mention to Hutson who's passes were coming out of no where, STRAIGHT ON TAPE everytime!!!!) GO HABS GO
loved to see marty hyped up and vibing. also armia deserves the plaudits for all the hard work he's putting in. i was jumping up and down when he did that one-two with the boards to free himself up to seal the game
They started the season always finding a way to lose and now it’s the complete opposite . They struggled against a top tier team that looked well prepared and found a way to come out on top . The wild card run is going to be insane right up until the last game of the season . They have one more game against Boston, two more against Detroit and 3 more against Ottawa . Another double bill this week-end and a lot of games next week so we will get some more Dobes action for sure ! I wonder if they will call someone up from Laval . Pezzetta just doesn’t seem like a good fit right now especially not with the 5 games in 10 days schedule coming up .
This is random, but i honestly just appreciate that Dobes is rocking alot of red on his gear. It's so much white pads now so seeing alot of color is always refreshing imo
Armia was a soldier this game. Dobes was perfection in net. Caufield was playing angry and put on a clinic for that goal. Pretty good effort from the entire team again really, there was just a few wacky errors here n there… i dunno what to say about Pezz other than he’s got a huge opportunity the last week or two and he’s clearly struggling. Looks like he’s kinda getting his legs back but still can’t stay out the box.
What kind of game is this? What kind of team is this? I really can't believe my eyes. I want to pay attention to the first period. what was that? THE FIRST LINE WASN'T JUST ON FIRE, THEY WERE LITERALLY DEMONS, finally I see the chemistry of last season, slaf is a killing machine. We're so good now, I'm still afraid to make loud statements because I don't want to jinx it.
Newhook won that face off and quickly skated into position for that deflection. Absolute clutch moment for him. Armia and Guhle battled and sacrificed themselves this game.
I watched Tony Marinara and had to wait and see if Pierre McGuiree gave his “monster of the game” while I waited for our boy Whiskey to get his upload lol my new favourite Montreal content provider, also more 90’s video game stuff lol
No player benefits from sitting in the press box. Pezzetta is a prime example. I feel bad for him but right now he is unplayable. If that 13th player doesn’t get game time, why keep him in Montreal?
Another brutal game by Matheson ! We got rid of Barron. Please let Matheson be next ! The rest of the team looked pretty good and Dobes is keeping that torch burning !
I got ripped apart on reddit last summer when I said they should trade Matheson while his value was so high because he's getting to an age where players start to regress. But even I had no idea just how bad he'd be this year. We could've easily flipped him for a first round pick at the deadline last year, and now we'd be lucky to get a second.
@@CarbonatedTurtle Great YT name. I have to disagree. I watched The Rebuild and have a whole new appreciation for the man and the player. Yes, he can be a high risk but it is a high reward. The guy loves being a Montreal Canadian. I think the rookies love him. Players, like soldiers, battle for the person next to them.
@@rockinrodlittle All that matters to me at the end of the day is what a player contributes to the team, and for Matheson, it's more bad than good lately. He was a great player and mentor to the younger guys for a couple of seasons, but his defensive game has taken a huge dive this year. He also seems to be allergic to passing when he's at the point and tries endless shots through traffic that usually end up missing the net. I just think he's past the point where he's doing more good than harm to the team.
Did you see the Habs’ celes? Literally back to business after each goal. Slaf used to go nuts after he scored. The guys are not happy to score anymore because they want to celebrate wins! That’s a team
A great performance by both goalies, could have easily been a 6-5 barn burner. Not the best game the Habs have played this season but good enough. GHG. Love your sense of humour WL.
Dobes stops the puck, but the way he plays the puck out of the net is extremely stressful. He might be calm, but he makes me nervous. My prediction is he will make a pretty bad mistake at some point this year because of how frequently he leaves his net to play it. When it inevitably happens, I hope he learns from it. Otherwise, I am scared we might have a Samsonov on our hands: stops the puck MOST of the time, but is prone to some shaky plays. All in all though, he looks super solid, and its so nice to have a decent tandem. Between Primeau and Allen in recent years, it has been Montembeault or a coin flip on whether or not we would have a serviceable goalie in net.
First goal was totally on Dobes. An innocent shot handcuffed him and he gave up a brutal rebound. That being said, his entire game other than that was completely solid and he’s SUPER exciting to watch.
The HNIC broadcast was so biased toward the leafs, it was bonkers. I think they had initially downloaded the Matthews high stick even 😂 and during the first intermission they were really pouring it on that the Leafs would make a come back and that Woll was theirs best player despite leaving in 3 goals in the first period… which begrudgingly I must admit was correct. 😩
@@whiskeylung 🤣🤣 It hurts so much more when they are right!Perfect sports day today, January football in the snow and perhaps a goal by Hutson tonight! Cheers buddy!
I was watching the Dallas feed - they thought it was a high stick goal and Dobeš had poor rebound control. They honestly seemed a little shocked by the Habs... as they should be!
Love the Caufield double move and pass to Slavkovsky. Bruins will implode. Not Tampa Bay. Dobes is very Keen. This is where I want to be and I want to show them I can be here. Love to think this guy could be our starting goalie of the future. Wow that power play was terrible.
I know it's never going to happen, but Marty should really go with the hot hand and give the start to Dobes tomorrow night. Monty is due for another big stinker of a game since he's been inconsistent all year, and I just know he's going to let in 6 against the Leafs and embarrass us.
It's okay, Matheson sucked enough for the rest of the game that he still deserves any criticism he got. If not for Dobes, a huge Matheson turnover could've turned into a Dallas goal on a breakaway.
It definitely was offside he receives the puck on the zone. There was also another time during the game that I think the refs wanted to call a delayed off side but then the stars get two shots on Dobes and those shots stayed lmao… Stars were cheating a little bit. There was another time the Canadians were offside but I was too lazy to watch it back - it might have been an instance where Dallas hit the puck into their own zone.
It took several months for Newhook & Dach to get to where they're at now, same with Slaf, several weeks after a bad stint further delaying the decision to put him back on the first line. Also, remember how freakin slow Gally was 2 summers ago ? He made us think of a beer league thing when you're out of all your forwards and have to dress a backup goalie as a skater. So I won't be too hard on Pez. Yes, it's not looking good, yes that's 2 consecutive stupid penaltys, yes his game doesn't suit the team's need as it used to, yet... he ain't totally done either, playing a few more games can't do him much harm. Plus, does any winger jump out of the page in Laval ? Don't seem so, not even Roy. They all look like they're better off keeping the good collective effort together and keeping honing on their individual areas of improvement. (Best exemple of that is not a FWD, it's Mailloux taking a serious dip in his production as he's been rightfully super focused on elevating his defensive game, which is starting to finally bear pretty tasty fruits)
Look don't get me wrong, I love Heineman and he is better than Pezzetta. but Pezzetta has been in the press box forever and has only played like 4 games if im correct and he only plays 5 minutes a night, so expecting Heineman play from pezzeta is a bit much to ask for. I will say his penalty was dumb though
I just don't understand why they're even dressing Pezzetta to play him 4 minutes a night. All it's doing is limiting us to 11 forwards a game, making us more tired than we need to be. There are plenty of guys in Laval who deserve a chance to fill in while Heineman is out who would do more than get a penalty a game and warm the bench.
what a game!!!!WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE....WE ARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the team got me feeling like pete weber over here(youtube it if you dont know...its a 5sec classic) HAHAHAHAH shout out to brandon dicamillio and raab himself....😉oooo and props to stickless armia whos way better than stickfull dvorak....

Demidov 3 points yesterday and Calgary's loss. C ya later..
Congrats in 8k. Love it as usual. Great opening video with bike ride.LOL 😅 your finds are amazing!. Assuming that is not really Gally???😳 I thought matheson played ok until I saw your 2 clips. Ouch! He did have some really good plays, but I get it. Found that the whole team turned it over quit a bit. Slaf had rough one despite goal WTF - we cannot cheer for Columbus🤬 given the gooning of Laine ... did you forget the Werenski hit. Screw Boston. Pezz is done - 3 early penalties in 3 straight games. No brains. Love him but he has to go. Love the newhook brows. Maybe you should sport em yourself. Big game on Saturday...I already have a wager with annoying Laff fans. Love your style. Keep up tye great work.😂
I feel like the boys are experiencing mental fatigue maybe? I don’t really expect this winning streak to continue but hope I am wrong. Still an amazing win
This was Pezz last game, they will call up for the next game. To bad for him but they need someone who can play a whole game and help the team. Good opportunity for whoever gets called up! I expect Evans and Armia will both get new contracts very soon, Also expect Savard and Matheson will stay at least for next year. Dvo will likely be gone and Demidov in next year.
I agree. The management will tell Pezz it’s not his fault he isn’t in game mode. At best he’s a 4th liner if he starts a season. No playing time he’s not NHL ready.

That being said, his entire game other than that was completely solid and he’s SUPER exciting to watch.
always good videos !!! would like to go to a game with you !!!
Just watched the leafs game recap before this... yeah, your eyes are clearer here indeed😅 keep up the good work and be kind to yourself.
Also trying to figure out where Heineman found that green sweatshirt 😱
I was watching the Dallas feed - they thought it was a high stick goal and Dobeš had poor rebound control.
They honestly seemed a little shocked by the Habs... as they should be!
Love the Caufield double move and pass to Slavkovsky.
Bruins will implode. Not Tampa Bay.
Dobes is very Keen. This is where I want to be and I want to show them I can be here.
Love to think this guy could be our starting goalie of the future.
Wow that power play was terrible.
8k 🎉🎉🎉
where do you see that video of them after the game?
I know it's never going to happen, but Marty should really go with the hot hand and give the start to Dobes tomorrow night. Monty is due for another big stinker of a game since he's been inconsistent all year, and I just know he's going to let in 6 against the Leafs and embarrass us.
with games in hand ~
DOMINATOR 2.0
True its tight like my mom on saterday nights
It was Hutson...NOT Matheson that failed on the clear on Dallas first goal.
It's okay, Matheson sucked enough for the rest of the game that he still deserves any criticism he got. If not for Dobes, a huge Matheson turnover could've turned into a Dallas goal on a breakaway.
New nicknames confirmed:
Michael « penalty » pezzetta
Jakub « another dub » Dobes
😂😂😂😂
Can someone tell me how 6:18 wasn't offside?
A lot for him to overcome and he will have to do it in a hurry. Good luck Pezz!
I just don't understand why they're even dressing Pezzetta to play him 4 minutes a night. All it's doing is limiting us to 11 forwards a game, making us more tired than we need to be. There are plenty of guys in Laval who deserve a chance to fill in while Heineman is out who would do more than get a penalty a game and warm the bench.
pezz is better than a 13th forward on a few teams im sure theres a spot for him somewhere. who needs sandpaper, effort, and grit for a late pick?
what a game!!!!WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE....WE ARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the team got me feeling like pete weber over here(youtube it if you dont know...its a 5sec classic) HAHAHAHAH shout out to brandon dicamillio and raab himself....😉oooo and props to stickless armia whos way better than stickfull dvorak....
Shoutout ti HAGGARD bro hahaha
and yo .....8000!!!!!! I told ya!!!! and i said AT LEAST 10 000 by the end of the season.......
Hey lung, it's the dutchman again. Hope you had a good a birthday with your family... I like this short recaps of yours. Go on with this. I feel for us Habsfans the good times stay. And as you know there will always be a lose so now and then. Even the unexpecyed ones!! I had not expected so soon that it would come. And it will be better! Demidov 3 points yesterday and Calgary's loss. C ya later..
Your Matheson bias is so bad! lol
Not as bad as the way Matheson plays defense.
Lfg :’)
I’m so happy 😭
Love the recaps man genuinely look forward to them after games hoping for you the nhl pulls back
Congrats in 8k. Love it as usual.
Great opening video with bike ride.LOL 😅 your finds are amazing!. Assuming that is not really Gally???😳
I thought matheson played ok until I saw your 2 clips. Ouch! He did have some really good plays, but I get it. Found that the whole team turned it over quit a bit.
Slaf had rough one despite goal
WTF - we cannot cheer for Columbus🤬 given the gooning of Laine ... did you forget the Werenski hit.
Still an amazing win
the bike scene was not funny
💯 Safety is never funny matter.
Dobes is for real. He's got talent and knows how to mind that goal.
You, junkie and Dekes. Good job.
