FURINA BANNER CONFIRMED? WRIOTHESLEY RERUN LIKELY IN 5.4 - Genshin Impact

- In this video, I’ll share why I believe Furina and Wriothesley are the most likely reruns for version 5.4, based on recurring patterns, team synergy, and hints from developer interviews.
Let’s start with Furina, the Hydro Archon. Her rerun in 5.4 seems very likely if we look at how Archons usually appear on banners. There’s a clear trend: Archons typically get reruns early in new regions. For instance, Raiden Shogun’s rerun happened in version 5.0, Nahida returned in 5.2, and now, in 5.3, we’re seeing the release of the Pyro Archon, Mavuika. If Hoyoverse continues this pattern, it would make sense for Furina to get her rerun in 5.4 to keep the focus on Archons during the early stages of the Natlan arc.
Another strong reason for Furina’s rerun is her synergy with Mavuika. Beta testers have revealed that Furina and Bennett are among the best teammates for Mavuika, thanks to their ability to create powerful elemental reactions like Vaporize. Furina can function as either a support or a sub-DPS, making her extremely valuable in Mavuika-focused teams. Bennett, another key character for these setups, is already confirmed for Mavuika’s banner in 5.3 (credit to HomDGCat for this info). By rerunning Furina in 5.4, Hoyoverse would give players the chance to complete their ideal teams for Mavuika.
Now, about Venti-while some players thought his rerun might coincide with a Mondstadt map expansion, developer interviews have indicated that there’s no plan for Mondstadt updates during the Natlan arc. Instead, Venti’s rerun will likely happen in 5.5, and it won’t be tied to any new Mondstadt content. This keeps the focus on Natlan and its story while setting up Venti’s return for a later version.
Moving on to Wriothesley, his absence from reruns has been unusual. It’s been over a year since his initial release, which is a long gap compared to other Fontaine characters like Neuvillette and Leney, who have appeared on banners multiple times already. Even Clorinde, who debuted much later in version 4.7, is getting a rerun in 5.3. Wriothesley’s long wait has left many players frustrated, and Hoyoverse has likely noticed the community’s growing demand for his return. If nothing else, they may rerun him in 5.4 to address this feedback.
Another reason Wriothesley fits well in 5.4 is the possibility of a Fontaine-themed main event during this patch. Since Fontaine will still be fresh in players’ minds, rerunning Furina and Wriothesley together would be a smart move. Furina’s synergy with Mavuika would draw in players who missed her first run, while Wriothesley’s long-awaited return would finally satisfy his fans.
If these reruns happen, version 5.4 could feature some of the most exciting banners we’ve seen in a while. What’s your take on this? Are you planning to pull for Furina or Wriothesley, or do you think Hoyoverse might take a different approach? Let me know your thoughts!

Furina isn't an Archon
THERE'S A GODDAMN DISCLAIMER ON HER WIKI PAGE ABOUT IT
Also it's Neuvillette that counts as the hydro archon for these rerun patterns
Let me also add hoyo is very random about reruns. THERE'S NO FREAKING WAY TO PREDICT THOSE so you should stop trying so hard, its tiring for everyone
Wiki isn't made for fans?
@@Nyux_4 the wiki is just a compilation of what we officially know from the game. It doesn't include spoilers and other things that aren't definitely sure.
There's a ton of reasons but I'm worried if it's spoilers. If you tell me you finished Fontaine archon quest then I can explain more but before you confirm, I don't wanna take the risk...
@@ima-Nat20 I didn't play it but I've seen videos about it.
I know that Furina isn't the original Foçalors, and after the trial, Neuvillete have now his authority back. But that authority used to belong to Foçalors or...? I don't remember.
@@Nyux_4
Okay then if you don't mind I'll explain.
The power of the archons was stolen by the Heavenly Principles. Originally, it belonged to the Sovereign Dragons. Neuvillette is the reincarnation of the hydro Sovereign Dragon, and there's a Sovereign Dragon for each element too. Once it was stolen, the Heavenly Principles made Gnoses (plural of Gnosis) for each element. I won't go into details but basically she made people fight for these gnoses and the winners would take the role of Archon. This is known as the Archon war. Once they touched the gnoses, they would become linked to the power of the corresponding Sovereign Dragon over one element. After that, the gnoses only act as a power enhancer, and a "proof of archonhood".
Sorry for the preface, I'll make the rest quick.
Egeria was the first hydro Archon, from the Archon war. But she allowed the birth of oceanids, and the Heavenly Principles really didn't like it. They created the prophecy that the entire Fontaine story revolves around, about the flood of Fontaine turning all the oceanids back into Primordial Water. Egeria died during the cataclysm, and chose Focalors as her successor.
Basically, Focalors elaborated a plan to counter the prophecy, which is putting her gnosis, her "archonhood" and her memories into the Oratrice Mécanique d'Analyse Cardinale. What was left behind was her human self, only the body and soul. Both of them are completely separate entities. The one in the Oratrice (...) is the original Focalors. The body and soul left behind was called Furina. But, I need to repeat it, they are completely separate. Furina doesn't have any memories related to Focalors, because "Furina" was born the instant Focalors with her memories left to inhabit the Oratrice (...)
So Furina is just a civilian that was forced to pretend for 500 years that she was an Archon for Fontaine, in order for Focalors' plan to succeed. She never came into contact with the Gnosis, which is like a requirement to access "archonhood" and the powers tied to this title. She didn't even have a vision! She was just a civilian. You have to play her personal character quest and that's where she gets her vision, but during the entire story she had no powers at all.
At the end of the Fontaine quest, Focalors entrusts the gnosis to Neuvillette, so he can recover the power that originally belonged to him as the Sovereign Dragon. With both the power he had left, and the returned power that the Heavenly Principles stole long ago, he had absolute control over the hydro element and that's how he managed to fix the waters of Fontaine and nullify the prophecy.
After that, he had no more use for the gnosis. He got his powers back. Now, the hydro gnosis can never give to anyone the powers stolen from the hydro Sovereign, because Neuvillette got them back. There will no longer ever be a hydro archon, it's just Neuvillette now.
Also, there are other uses for the gnosis, that's why Arlecchino still wanted it even if it had no elemental powers anymore. But that's a whole other story. If you need to know more, you can search info like the wiki about the Third Descender. I'll say no more.
Last detail about gnoses: Archons still retain their Archonhood after losing the gnosis (they can still use the power from the Sovereign). They just no longer have access to the enhancing properties of the gnosis itself. For example, Zhongli still has most of his powers, but without the gnosis he can no longer produce mora, that's why his mora factory was stopped. Venti gave freedom to Monstadt and didn't rule over it, which got him to lose his divinity so it didn't really impact him. And so on and so forth, that's why all the archons we meet seemed to care so little for the gnosis. The gnosis is mostly just the *proof* that they're an archon.
There's a whole list of details that definitely prove Furina isn't an archon, like the fact that all the archons have glowing hair when they use their powers. Furina doesn't have glowing hair, Neuvillette does. I won't list it all because just understanding the story is enough proof that Furina never was an Archon, and it's just that we have to find even more evidence for some people who are still skeptical.
@@ima-Nat20 Thx for the explanation. Pretty clear and useful.
Kokomi when ?
Yeah waiting for kokomi rerun 😢
